We are Doris and Adrian from Switzerland, currently living in Oklahoma. Our faith in God led us to adoption after experiencing infertility. We’ve dreamed of filling our happy, loving home with the laughter of children, and we are looking forward to adopting our first child.

About Us
We have been a happy couple for 15 years and married for 5 years in Switzerland. We speak German, English, and French in our home, and look forward to teaching your child the value of learning cultural diversity.

Together we like to explore unknown places. We especially look forward to camping trips and to feeling free outdoors. We have a hamster and two guinea pigs at home, and we enjoy cooking recipes going back to late Austrian aunts and grandmothers. We will pass on several other family traditions too, including coloring Easter eggs with dye of onion skins, or the Saint Nicolas Day “Grittibänz”, a funny looking home-made bread dough man.

Our Home in Oklahoma
In 2006, Adrian’s job as a Market Manager brought us to the United States. In Oklahoma, we found a lovely house to rent in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We are happy to have made dear friends who give support, advice and help like a family. Right now, we intend to stay in the US for about four more years and then to go back to Switzerland again.

About Adrian
Adrian is an honest, strong and reliable husband. He is sensitive, always has an open ear, and cares about the needs of others. He always knows how to comfort me. We can also laugh with each other and sometimes be very silly. We like to play cards and board games, and Adrian can fix just about anything around the house. He knows a lot about plants and animals, and has broad interests. He enjoys doing sports, especially jogging, mountain biking and hiking. Another passion of Adrian is archery. He practices once a week in our friend’s backyard with home-made wooden bows.

About Doris
Doris is very determined and honest. She is shy at first, but once she embraces someone as a friend, there is no way she would let him or her down. She has a strong sense of justice and is fair, persistent, and diligent with projects. Without her, I would not be the person I am today. My wife enjoys reading in several languages. She loves to write letters to her loved ones back in Switzerland. During her childhood, Doris started playing the violin and later on the piano. Doris loves music very much and is creative. She painted our own flags with a special comic sheep loved by our neighbors. Doris is planning to take some classes at the university to update her law degree, but otherwise Doris is going to be a stay-at-home mother for the first couple of years.

About Our Families
For many years, Adrian’s parents were in the farming business. Now they are retired, still living on the farm with a dog, some chickens, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. They are loving grandparents for their five grandchildren. Adrian has two older sisters, and he adores being godfather to one of his five nieces and nephews.

Doris’s parents live nearby as well, and are enjoying being brand new grandparents of twins in Switzerland, the children of one of Doris’s two older brothers. Her oldest brother has lived in Kansas for more than twenty years.
