Dear Birthmother,
Hello. We are Curtis and Mary. Our hearts and arms are open and ready to welcome your child. He or she will be blessed with the love of a father, a mother, a big sister, grandparents, and a large extended family located mostly in Arizona and Virginia.
 About Us
We are a family with great faith in God. We met at an after-worship luncheon for singles at our church. We fell in love and married several years later. We struggled with infertility for several years and then celebrated the birth of Julia in 2004. We've since decided our best option to grow our family is through adoption.
 My Husband, Curtis
Curtis is a wonderful father. He enjoys helping others as a career firefighter/paramedic and his interests and hobbies include his John Deere tractor, giving hay rides, going fishing with friends, and woodworking. Curtis found a used outdoor play set, spent a weekend fixing it up, and has created a wonderful play center in our back yard. His work schedule allows him to spend a lot of time at home with our family. Curtis has a generous heart and enjoys helping people.
 My Wife, Mary
Mary loves being a mother! She enjoys taking Julia on walks, baking together, playing dress up, and especially teaching Julia how to craft. Mary has the privilege of working full-time from her home office which allows for family time during the work day. She also has many hobbies, including creating wonderful family scrapbooks that will be treasured for generations. She has fun decorating our home for all of the seasons and holidays-especially Christmas. Mary loves to quilt and recently won two ribbons at the county fair for quilts she made for Julia and our newest nephew.
 Our Daughter, Julia
Julia is a loving, bright, and very social child who can't wait to be a big sister!
She is imaginative and likes creative play. One of her favorite things to do is to turn on all of her toys that have music (all at one time!), and dance. Julia enjoys playing with children of all ages and makes friends very easily.
Our Home
We live in a lovely brick home surrounded by a Virginia state park. We are surrounded by wildlife and are visited by deer, squirrels and birds every day. Our home has four bedrooms and bathrooms, and an office where Mary works. We are members of our neighborhood association where we have the opportunity to go swimming, use the tennis and volleyball courts, and join in social activities for all ages. We have wonderful neighbors who have become great friends.
Our Church
We are very active in our church. We attend a traditional service and Sunday school together on Sunday mornings and also enjoy the music at the contemporary service in the evening. We are both on various committees such as Children's Ministry, Staff/Parish, Kitchen, and Maintenance and Grounds. We enjoy volunteering in the nursery, and have adopted senior homebound members who have become special friends to our family.
 Education
Education is highly important to us. We have begun a college savings fund and will ensure our children have the opportunity to achieve a college education. Both of us achieved college degrees after pursuing a career (Mary an MBA and Curtis a degree in Funeral Science) and we continue our education today. Curtis takes continuing education classes for firefighting. Mary enjoys classes for relaxation like quilting, photography, and scrapbooking. Julia participates in a choir and is looking forward to starting preschool next year.
Our Thoughts
We will do our best to nurture our children and help them learn the life lessons we learned as children. We were taught to have confidence in ourselves, yet to be humble, to always do our best, to do the right thing, and to accept and respect all others. We believe our standards, morals, and faith are the keys to raising happy, confident children. We believe that by demonstrating love and respect, our children will learn to value these characteristics.
 Our Promise
Our children are and will be the greatest joy in our lives. We have made a commitment to ensure our home is a place for children to thrive. We have great schools, a wonderful church community, and amazing extended families. We will provide a loving Christian home and family. We will nurture and encourage our children to always do their best in reaching for their dreams.
