Dear Birthmother,

Our names are Carmella and Doug, and do we have a story to tell. We learned very early in our marriage about Carmella’s infertility condition, and the adoption process would be how our family would begin.

We planned every aspect of our married life around the day that we can bring our child home. Our lifestyles, careers and home have been prepared for the time in our lives when we will be parents, and provide a safe, secure, loving and fun environment for your child.

We have been married for 9 years, and love each other very much. We are the ultimate team! Carmella is a children’s dentist with her own practice, requiring her to work only 2 or 3 days a week. Doug is the chief financial officer of their corporation and works on our ranch as well.

Carmella has a very successful and well established children’s dental practice. She was voted “New Dentist of the Year” by her dental colleagues statewide. She is patient, kind, nurturing, and loves to motivate her patients to do well. I often see the younger patients in the office running down the hall with open arms, diving into her arms for one of her famous hugs.

Carmella strives to be mentally, physically and spiritually healthy. She has a daily wellness program that she tries to adhere to everyday. The most impressive part of her daily routine that I often see and take part in is her “prayer life”. She will get on her knees at the foot of our bed and pray for our marriage, family and friends, her business, our home, and recently for our birthparents and the child that God will bless us with someday. Because of her strong faith, character, integrity and the endless unconditional love she shows me and her family and friends, I know in my heart that she will be the best mommy that a child could ever ask for.

Doug is the most sensitive, caring, family-oriented man of intelligence and integrity I have ever known. Wow, that sounds too good to be true but he is! Doug is an entrepreneur who works at home now. Before he became the CFO of our corporation, building contractor (he helped build our new home), tree farmer and our ranch manager, he was a very successful financial advisor and planner.

We are both ready to be a “first-time” mommy and daddy! Doug is waiting for the day when our child comes running into his arms with big gorgeous smiles saying “Daddy I love you!” We can hardly wait for that day to arrive.

Our Home and Family
We built and live in a 10,000 square foot European country estate nestled on a 700 acre property in the Ozark Mountains. It is obviously too big for just the two of us and our two Yorkie terriers, Princess and Duchess, but we are eager to grow into it.

Our home is the gathering place for almost all the family get togethers. We have 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, a kids playroom, and a unique “Hall of Fame”. The “Hall of Fame” is a very large area to display family portraits, school projects, ribbons, trophies and homemade crafts.

We both enjoy spending time with our very diverse ethnic families. We both have large close knit families from various backgrounds. Carmella’s family are Hispanic and Caucasian and Doug’s family are German and Romanian.

When we all get together, we have a blast: cooking and entertaining on our outdoor BBQ pit, while watching the kids fly kites, hunt Easter eggs, or play on the slip and slide. In the fall, hay rides, roasting marshmallows, horseback riding and carving pumpkins are what we enjoy the most. Our families are all very excited and supportive about our plans to grow our family through adoption.

Our Promise to You
There will be no daycares or nannies for your child. Every day, one or both of us will be there to be an at-home-parent.

We promise to provide a quality education, both traditional and practical. We will give your child the emotional, spiritual, and financial support needed to achieve whatever he or she desires to be.

We would definitely be open to staying in contact, sharing letters and photographs. We believe a child can’t have enough family and we’re open to visits from you and your family if you wish.
