More About Our Family
|
| Our Special Interests |
We enjoy spending time outside at our country home. We work in the garden, flower beds, and play with our two dogs, Emma and Max. On the weekends, our favorite activities include boating on local lakes, camping, visiting family and friends, and just relaxing at home. One of our favorite times of the year is the 4th of July because we can sit on our front porch and watch five distinct firework shows at the same time. It is a beautiful sight and really makes us appreciate all of the gifts in life. |
| Our Faith |
We are both from strong Christian families. Both of us were raised Catholic and we now attend a non-denominational church. Our church and faith have brought us closer together and closer to God through the past six years and we look forward to continuing to grow in faith as a family. |
| Our Musical Interest |
Dustin is a guitar player and enjoys playing country music and funny kids songs for our daughter, Joelle. We usually listen to contemporary Christian or country music on the radio. Most days, Ginger and Joelle listen to a variety of children’s CDs in the car. Ginger is a pro at singing the Veggie Tales, Mickey Mouse, and other songs that Joelle loves. |
| About Our Home |
We live in a quiet country home that is far enough away to be out of the traffic congestion and noise, but also within 20 minutes of Austin, so we can still enjoy all that a larger city has to offer.
We live on six acres that give our daughter and dogs plenty of room to run and play. |
| Our Children |
We have one daughter, Joelle, who came to us through adoption. She is African-American and will be three years old in November. |

| Our Neighborhood |
Living in the country, there are only three houses within one mile of our house. We have the best neighbors, Patsy and Terry, within short walking distance. He is a retired DPS officer and she has retired from state employment. They are strong Christian couple who are always willing to lend a hand. |

| Future Contact with Birth Family |
We are open to future contact with you, including calls, pictures, letters, emails, and visits. Ginger is adopted and we both feel that it is important that we are not the limiting factor of our child having information about his or her birth family. |
| Our Promise to You |
We promise to unconditionally love this child and to give him/her the best opportunity that we can to enjoy a happy and healthy life. We promise to raise this child in a loving Christian home where prayer is a daily experience. Through example, we promise to teach open communication about anger, fears, and other emotions that can sometimes be hard to discuss. We promise to be open and honest and to share the story of how we were brought together as a family. |
