Adoptive parents, Eric and Laura

Dear Birthmother,

We are an active, loving couple with a 7-year-old daughter. We are teachers who desire a home filled with children. Our family is blessed by adoption already and we can't wait to adopt another child.

About Our Family...
Eric and Laura are both teachers and love childrenWe have worked with children all our lives. We love teaching and think it's the greatest job on Earth.

We have two dogs. They love kids and enjoy running, fetching and wrestling. We also have a cat that likes to tease the dogs.

As a couple, we like to spend most of our free time together. We like to watch movies, play basketball, play cards, and cheer on our favorite sports teams.

In the summer, we get to spend a lot of time together as a family. We love going to our family cabin, taking hikes, having cook-outs, and walking our dogs. We also play many board games and read books together.

In the winter, we enjoy sledding in our backyard, making snowmen, and snowshoeing.

Laura is a funny person who makes me laugh quite a bit. She has a deep heart, is sensitive to other's feelings, and will reach out to help anyone who needs it.

Laura is passionate about her work and tackles it with gusto. There are many nights where she will tell me about something crazy she did to motivate "her kids."

Laura loves to read and is always in the middle of about three different books. In the summer, you'll find her watching the Detroit Tigers on TV, or listening to them on the radio.

She is caring and nurturing to our daughter, Emma, as well as all our family. Laura especially likes doing crafts, reading books, and baking with Emma. She would love to have many children, and she can't wait to add another child to our family.

Eric is very reliable and genuine, and you can always count on him. He would do anything for his family and those he cares about. We laugh A LOT. My favorite part of being married is talking and giggling with him before we go to sleep each night.

Eric is very dedicated to his job. He makes sure to involve himself in his students' lives.

In the summer, Eric likes taking care of our lawn. He enjoys the outdoors. He also loves North Carolina Tar Heels basketball. Eric likes to hang out in our game room in the winter, playing basketball, table soccer, and air hockey.

Eric is a tough, supportive, loving dad and Emma means the world to him. My heart warms when I see them "tickle fight" or have a serious discussion about the world.

Emma looks forward to being a big sisterAbout Emma...
Emma loves to read, write, do crafts, and work in her grandma's garden. She also likes to play sports. Emma is a caring child who always thinks of others. She loves all animals, especially her pets. She wants to be a veterinarian, an art teacher, and a mom when she grows up. Emma looks forward to being "the big sister". She wants to read to, play with, sing with, and love a brother or sister. She loves being with her younger cousins.

Our Home and Neighborhood...
In 2005, we purchased our dream home. Our house is nestled in four acres of woods with a nature preserve behind us. We wanted to find a place for our children to learn about nature and enjoy being able to climb trees, Eric and Laura's home in Michigansee animals, and explore. We see deer, raccoons, rabbits, and wild birds in our backyard daily.

Our home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. While our home is considered one story, we spend much of our time in the finished basement.

Eric and Laura are excited to adopt again! Our Promise to You...
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We will do everything we can to make sure your child understands his or her birth story and how loving adoption is. We will make sure your baby always knows how much you love him/her. Ever since Emma was born, she has known about her birth mother. Emma understands that she has two mothers - a birth mother and the mother that she sees everyday. We feel it is very important that our children know they were adopted. If you like, we would be happy to share letters and pictures of your child with you. If you want to know more about us, please contact Lifetime Adoption at 1-800-923-6784.
