Dear Birthmother,

It is our pleasure to provide you with a little insight into our lives. We are the proud parents of two beautiful girls and one furry dog and we can't wait to grow by one more child. We love the sounds of children laughing and the way they look at everyday things with such curiosity. We have been blessed through adoption in so many ways that we know this is the plan God has for us.

About Us
We were both born and raised in Minnesota. We have been married for twelve years. The family started to grow in the summer of 2000 with the adoption of Julia and grew in 2003 when we were blessed to adopt Melaina.

It wouldn't be unusual to see our family enjoying a camp out in the living room or using the family R.V. at a campground. Fall is a favorite time of year with trips to the apple orchards and hay rides through the pumpkin patches.

Adoption just seemed right for us. Jerry was adopted and grew up in a family of 9 children with three others also being adopted by his parents. Michelle has always had a special place in her heart for children and felt led to provide a safe, loving, and Christ-centered home.

About Michelle
Michelle is beautiful, sweet, caring, thoughtful, unselfish, incredibly intuitive and possesses a wonderful sense of humor. When we welcomed Julia to the family, it was unbelievable; I have never seen a more natural mother.

I find myself just watching her with both of our children and realizing how lucky they are and I am to be able to share her. Everyday begins and ends with smiles, hugs, and "I love you's", and many in-between.

About Jerry
Jerry is down to earth and really easy to be with. He had a great sense of humor. Getting to know him better I realized among many of his fantastic qualities, that he would make a great father someday. He possesses strong morals, values, and integrity. Jerry is a very successful high school teacher and coach. He has a natural way with kids of all ages.

Being an adopted child himself, he witnessed first-hand the love and support that adoptive parents can and do offer. We feel that is an added benefit as he can relate to some of the questions that our children may have.

About Our Children
Julia has always been a determined, fun, intelligent, sweet, creative, and sensitive girl. She loves school with her favorite class being gym with a close second going to science. She is currently in the first grade at a Christian school near our home.

Melaina, like her sister, has also always been determined and very expressive. She loves being the center of attention and telling her favorite jokes. She is also very intelligent, creative, imaginative, and caring.

About Our Family
We are so fortunate to be surrounded by family, especially when it comes to welcoming adopted children. Jerry's family being so large and spread out affords many vacation destinations as well as large family celebrations. Jerry's brother has two adopted children.

Michelle's family is a bit smaller but they all live close by. Her mother lives within 5 miles and usually comes over a few days a week to visit. Michelle's sister also has three adopted bi-racial children. The cousins are frequent playmates and usually after church on Sunday we get together at "Nana's" and eat a Sunday dinner and the kids play.

Our Home
We live in a beautiful two-story home on a quiet cul-de-sac in a family friendly suburb in Minnesota. We have a beautiful big yard complete with a playhouse for the kids. There are multiple parks to choose from close by. Christmastime is a special time as the entire neighborhood decorates their homes. We love living in Minnesota and experiencing the four seasons and the many different activities from swimming at a beach to making our own little skating rink in the winter in the backyard.
