Dear Birthmother,

We have begun a new and exciting chapter in our lives, our journey to adoption. This journey seems pre-destined for us, before just a dream and now a realization. Despite the heartache we have endured with pregnancy losses, we have been blessed with a beautiful daughter. For that we will always be grateful, and now we cannot wait to share our love with another child.

Our Life Together
We married in the Spring of 2001. We are both outgoing people who are passionate about life. We waited to have a family so we could enjoy our time together and to pursue our love for travel. Being exposed to different cultures, foods, and languages has made us more well-rounded. We hope our worldly adventures will enrich the lives of our daughter and our future child(ren).

In the Spring of 2005, we were blessed with the birth of our daughter, Marina. We also have a dog named Ariel, a Siberian Husky. We are active, enjoy the outdoors, and we try to get the whole family involved. In the winter, we cross-country ski, Marina in a backpack and Ariel in a harness. In the summer, we swim and bike.

My Wife Debra
Debra is the cornerstone of our house. I love her with all my heart. She is my best friend and a wonderful mother to our daughter. I love to watch Debra interact with Marina; she has an animated way of reading books and singing to her. Debra is affectionate and caring, always knowing how to calm Marina down or give her a kiss after a spill, as well as plenty of hugs and kisses throughout the day.

Since Debra is a stay-at-home mom, she and Marina get to spend a lot of time together. We live in a great neighborhood in the Midwest where families are very active. We are within walking distance of many parks and numerous schools. Days are spent at the park, meeting friends for playdates, and going to the bookstore.

Debra practices yoga, especially on our balcony when weather allows. She loves to read, mostly mystery novels and fiction. Debra is very creative, and is always doing fun projects with Marina. They have made elaborate spider webs for Halloween, a paper dog collar, and Christmas stocking ornaments with fancy trimmings.

My Husband Marc
Marc is a very optimistic, happy guy. He is not shy about introducing himself, and is very easy to get to know. Many of his friends come to him for advice and support. He is very energetic, has an offbeat sense of humor, and is very confident. He makes his presence known when he walks into a room, and leaves a lasting impression.

Marc is on a volleyball team, and he also likes to fish. On weekends, Marc, Marina, and Ariel go to the woods to walk and feed apples to the deer. Marc also spends bathtime with Marina, which she really looks forward to. He is a great cook, and he loves to talk about food and watch cooking shows.

Marc is a commodities trader and is usually home by 3 p.m., so he is able to devote a lot of time to us. He is a great father and husband, very supportive and fun to be around. He is really looking forward to an addition to our family!

Our Daughter Marina
Marina is a very energetic, happy little girl who thrives in nature. She is very observant and has a fantastic memory. She has always loved books, and learned the alphabet, colors, shapes, and numbers at a very early age. She really likes Thomas the Train and knows all the characters; thus she'll have no trouble remembering peoples' names!

Marina loves our dog Ariel, and all animals in general. She also enjoys playing with other kids, especially her five cousins, who live nearby. Since Marina is so outgoing and good-natured, she will easily adapt to her future brother or sister!
