Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We have been blessed by adoption, and we are very excited about welcoming another child into our family through adoption.

We met in college and have been married for almost 17 years. We shared the same college major and teaching profession, so we've had a lot in common for many years.

We are an active couple who enjoy spending time at the ocean and hiking in the mountains with our children. We enjoy spending time together as a couple as well as just hanging out at home on our Friday night "movie nights" with our children.

Mark is an amazing man: fun-loving, active, gentle, and kind. I feel I am the luckiest woman ever because he brings so much love to our relationship and to our family. Mark is a kid at heart. He's never too tired to play with the kids. He seems to know just when the children need a hug or a joke to make them laugh. And he is amazingly patient.

Mark is an enthusiastic, well-loved college professor who inspires his students to achieve their best. I am very proud of the work he does.

I could not imagine a better husband. Mark is always there for me with a kind word or a helping hand. He is a very generous and loving man.

Vicki is a remarkable woman. She nurtures the children, volunteers at a Crisis Nursery, leads a Girl Scout troop, and teaches piano. She still manages to find the time to care for herself. I have great respect for Vicki. She lives her life with strong values: family, education, and love.

I love sharing time with Vicki. She is a great person to share my hopes and sorrows with, to grow with, and to laugh with. She is my partner, my love, and my life. She is a gift from God.

We have been blessed with three wonderful children. Our oldest, Devon is now grown and living in southern California. He is a great son, an aspiring actor, and we truly enjoy our relationship with our "adult child." We are very proud of him.

Connor is a great big teenager with a big heart. He is a very talented young man who excels at cello and fencing. And he is a great big brother who looks forward to having a new brother or sister in the family.

ClareMarie is our littlest angel. She is a beautiful princess who is very full of life. She dances and sings through her days and is becoming a great reader. She can't wait to be a big sister.

We live in northern California, a beautiful place not far from the ocean and the mountains. We own a home on a quiet street in a suburban area of a medium-sized city. We're very fortunate to have wonderful neighbors and lots of children, parks, and playgrounds around. Our home is spacious and welcoming. We like people to feel comfortable when they come into our home. Our large family room is a great gathering place for friends and family.

We are lucky to have a lot of family nearby. Mark is the youngest of eight children, and Vicki's sister lives just across town, so we are able to spend a lot of family time together. We consider ourselves fortunate to have so much love and support from our families. Our children are the youngest of many grandchildren, so they get a lot of extra attention.

Our family is very supportive of our adoption with ClareMarie. She feels very loved and cherished by them. Nevertheless, we know that it is difficult for her to be the only African-American in the family, which is why we have started a second adoption plan; we look forward to adopting an African-American or bi-racial child into our family. Please know that your child will have an awareness and appreciation of his or her heritage within our family.

We attend an Episcopal church in town with a wonderful children's Sunday school and youth group programs. Our faith is very important to us. We believe that God loves us unconditionally.
