Dear Birthmother,

Hi! To tell you how excited we are to be parents would be an understatement! We've looked forward to bringing a child into our home for many years. We've tried to conceive children for the past seven years using all sorts of medical assistance with no luck. Now we look forward to adopting and know that this is the path God intended us to follow. We are thrilled at the anticipation of adopting a child. We hope as you read more about us, you'll see all the love we are ready to share.

We grew up going to church together and we started "going together" in the 7th grade. Then Shannon's family moved to Germany and didn't return until our sophomore year of college. When she moved back, we started rebuilding our relationship and two years later were married. We've been married for 13 years and we know that God truly planned for us to spend our lives together.

We live in a thriving community in northwest Arkansas. Life here is quiet and laid back. We have a chocolate lab, Rebel, who we love to take on walks or go swimming in one of the many lakes in our town. Being surrounded by trees to climb in, plenty of grass to play on and lots of space for a swing set are a few reasons living here is the perfect place to raise a family.

Michael is my best friend and also my greatest source of strength. We truly do complete each other; God meant for us to be husband and wife and for that I am so thankful.

Michael was able to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a firefighter. Michael has many talents and one of them is his ability to be a leader. He's the lieutenant at his fire station and in charge of the men on his shift. His job allows him a bit of flexibility so he can do other things he's inspired to do. Recently, he became residential home contractor. He's always enjoyed working with his hands-which is something he learned from his "Pop."

Shannon is my inspiration. Every morning I wake up, I thank God for giving me such a beautiful and loving wife. Her glass is always half full and she sees the good in everyone. Not only is she my wife, but she's truly my best friend; I wouldn't be the man I am today without her. She's an angel sent from Heaven.

She has so many good qualities and it would fill this page if I listed them all. What I admire the most is her ability to make people feel good. When she walks into a room she makes people happy-older folks smile and children laugh. It's a God-given talent...a gift.

We have no doubt that this child will be absolutely showered with love and attention. This will be the first grandchild/niece or nephew to enter our family. Both families have been praying for this baby to come for such a long time and they are ready to accept them with open arms!

Faith has been such an important part of our lives and we wouldn't be as strong as we are today without it. We are both Christians and are active in the church we attend. Michael has gone to Mexico to work with missionaries to build homes for those in need. Shannon teaches 2nd grade Bible school, works with our church's woman's ministry group, and helps with Vacation Bible School. We are also active with our Life Groups and regularly host dinner with our church friends. We know that He has great plans in mind and adopting a child is just one of the many blessings He has in store for us.
