Providing the Support You Need In Choosing Your Child's Future Help and Support for Pregnant Women

Adoptive parents, Mike and Alexandra

Dear Birthmother,

Married almost 12 wonderful years, we continue to grow in love and commitment to one another, our family, and our faith.  After unsuccessful fertility treatments and a failed international adoption, we pursued domestic adoption and were blessed with the miracle of adopting our son, John Paul, at the age of two.

We are excited to grow our family through another adoption, and welcome getting to know you and your hopes and dreams for your child’s future. We are open to contact with you, throughout your child’s life.

Our lives are filled with many outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, backyard croquet, sailing, and camping.  We live in a 100 year old farmhouse on three acres in rural North Carolina surrounded by fields and near several dairy farms.

Our home is comfortably filled with books, old furniture, art, but most importantly love! Every day we try to live a healthy lifestyle by choosing organic and natural products.  We truly believe in doing everything together as a family!

Mike and Alexandra adopted their son John Paul at two years oldOur Family
Mike is a middle school science and social studies teacher, while Alexandra is an elementary gifted education teacher.  Both of us share a passion for science and history and know a great education is important.  We believe that God has a purpose for each child and we strive to bring out the special talents and abilities he gives.

God has blessed us as teachers with long holidays and our summers off together.  We enjoy our family outings to the beach, mountains, state parks, history and science museums, and of course the zoo!  In summer we have more time to spend in our yard gardening, making jelly and applesauce from our own fruit, and swimming at the local pool.  Each summer on our beach trip, we participate in a volunteer sea turtle rescue program.

Our extended family and friends bring many cultural influences and diversity.  With family from Mexico, India, Lebanon, and Canada and close friends from Germany, Russia, and Ukraine, there is always a wide variety of food, language, and cultural traditions for us to experience.

Mike is fun loving, young at heart, and always thinking of others.  I trust him whole-heartedly to be there and take care of us.  I smile every time he comes home and can’t wait to share my day because he always listens.  Mike loves the outdoors, has served his country in the Air Force, is active in the American Legion and Knights of Columbus.  In his free time he paints and builds model airplanes.

Alexandra is a great wife and true friend.  She loves children, her pets, and the wild animals that live around our farm.  Blessed with patience, kindness, and a giving heart, she is a great mom with unlimited love for children.  She enjoys baking, photography, teaching our son, and playing her flute and piano. I am blessed to have her as my wife.

John Paul is now a precocious four year old and is excited about becoming a big brother.   He attends a local private Christian school and loves learning (he’s already reading second grade books!), and is involved in a gymnastics program.   He loves his animals (eight laying hens, two dogs, three cats, and one rabbit), who all live happily outside.  John Paul says he is ready to be a big brother and has even picked out one of his treasured stuffed animals to share.  From the beginning, we have shared his adoption story with him through the re-telling of how he joined our family, and through reading adoption-related books.  He loves to hear his story of how God sent him to us.

Our Faith
We thank God every day for the beauty of His creation and for Jesus who gives us hope and forgiveness.  We attend an independent Christian church on Sundays and on Saturdays we attend mass at the local Catholic Church.  We enjoy participating in Bible School, international missions, and raising money for the mentally handicapped through our church.  Most importantly, we are committed to raising our children in a Godly home.
