More About Our Family
Our Special Interests Scott enjoys swimming, playing NFL games on Playstation3 and playing chess. Cynthia likes playing her violin and learning to speak Spanish.
Our Faith We are both born-again,Spirit filled Christians. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. God uses us (especially Cynthia) in the revelatory gifts. We attend a non-denominational church. Cynthia has frequently been invited as a guest minister (speaker) and leader at the Women’s God Encounters. There were usually 150 women in attendance from all over the city that left changed by God. We were home group Bible study leaders and have volunteered for 11 years in the children’s ministry.  We believe that our prior experience in church ministry helped to prepare us for the responsibility of overseeing the children’s ministry that he has entrusted us with.
Our Musical Interest We listen to a local Christian radio station when we drive. Since we are around a lot of foster teens, we found that they liked hip hop music. Cynthia introduced the foster teens and our kids to Christian Urban and hip hop artists. Now, we enjoy the upbeat and positive message in that style of music. The Christian Urban and Hip Hop music also taught the teens that you can be a young Christian and “still be swagging” as they say. Some Christian music artists we like are: Plumb, 2103, Marvin Winans Jr., Mary Mary, Mandisa, Rubin Studdard,Bob Carlisle, Michael W. Smith, The Katina’s, Canton Jones, Jars of Clay, Deitrick Haddon, Other musical artists we like are: Celine Dion and Josh Groban. We like to play Nat King Cole and Bing Crosby’s Christmas music during the holidays.
About Our Home We live in a newly built community where there are alley ways behind most of the homes so the front of the homes focus on the front porches and encourage neighbors to interact. Our home is only five years old. It is a 4,000 square feet, two story modern colonial with five bedrooms and five bathrooms in the main house. Above the three car garage is a fully equipped one bedroom apartment where Scott’s parents live. Each of our sons has their own bedroom. The bedroom we have set aside for your daughter has two twin beds and two cribs in case we need both. Our plans are to change the rooms theme from gemstone jewels and fairies to something she might want. We will help her pick out a canopy bed with matching furniture when she is old enough. Your daughter’s room has its own full on-suite bathroom. Behind our home is a narrow but long nature preserve and across the street is a pond.

Our Neighborhood In our community there are about 8,000 residents in about 2,200 homes. It is a planned community. There are several community pools with cabanas, recreation centers, YMCA, banks, elementary, middle and high schools, shopping, and specialty personal care services all within walking or a short driving distance.  We have a neighborhood feel with the modern conveniences close at hand. The community has parades, winter snow machines to blow artificially made ice snow in the downtown square, fireworks, specialty side walk vendors and Movies under the Stars throughout the year. We moved here because it is safe and very family friendly. It is culturally diverse with a strong balance of Hispanic, African American and Caucasian populations.
