Dear Birthmother,
Before telling you about ourselves, we would like to thank you
for taking the time to read our letter. We are so excited about
bringing a baby into our loving family. Thank you for making dreams
come true for couples like us, who are unable to have a child.
Our names are Steve and Lori, and we have been happily married
for nearly fourteen years. We met through mutual friends while still in
high school and have been together ever since. We tried for over
five years to have a child before adopting our son, Hudson. Although
our struggle with infertility was very hard, our marriage grew
stronger and we knew that God had a special plan for our lives.
We know that He has chosen another precious child for us.
We own a beautiful four-bedroom, two-bath home in a family oriented, rural neighborhood. There is a large fenced in backyard with a swing set and sandbox. A built in swimming pool is seperated from the play area by a self-locked fence. Deer, rabbits, and chipmunks are often seen around our house. Our neighbors have young children of their own and we often get together for play. There is a family lake cabin nearby that we enjoy year round. We are looking forward to sharing these things with another child.
Steve is a highly motivated, hard working, and loving person.
He is a wonderful, patient father and loves playing with Hudson.
Steve has a wonderful sense of humor and makes friends easily.
He taught advanced mathematics and coached varsity football for
several years before accepting a job as
an intermediate school administrator .
His whole life is centered around working with kids and he is looking
forward to becoming a father again.
Lori
is a sensitive, caring, and patient person. She loves being a mom
and cherishes the time she spends with Hudson. Her family
and friends are a very important part of her life. She has always
enjoyed being around children and dreamed of being a mom. Although
she has gone through extensive infertility treatments to have a
child, she has always kept her faith in knowing that one-day she
would be a mother. Lori is currently working as the Media Specialist
at a local middle school in the same school system as Steve.
Hudson is a four-year-old “Lifetime” baby
that is so excited about becoming a big brother. He has the most
precious, loving personality and loves to play with his two dogs, “Taz” and “Jake.” God
has truly blessed our family through adoption and we believe that
he is preparing a second child for us.
Religion has always been a very important part of our lives. We
are members of a Baptist church and attend on a regular basis.
Our church has a remarkable children's/youth department and outreach
ministry. A fantastic playground has just recently been built at
our church, which will be very convenient and allow for fun family
activities.
We are very fortunate to have summers off together. During this
time we do most of our traveling and spend as much time together
as possible. We’ve enjoyed many fabulous trips over the
past years, and can hardly wait to share our summer fun and adventures
with another child.
Our family is very important to both of us, and we are all very
close. All of our immediate family lives in the area. Holidays
are shared with both families, and trips are often taken. Both
of our families are very excited and supportive about our decision
to adopt again. They cannot wait to welcome a new child into the
family.
Working in the field of education, we are both around children
everyday. We have such an influence on other people’s children,
and we cannot wait for another child to love and raise. As educators,
we believe that a higher education is extremely important and will
encourage a child to attend the college or University of his/her
choice.
We promise that your child will be reared in a very loving, secure,
Christian environment. We will make sure that every need is met
and that he/she has everything needed to be happy. Also, we will
be glad to send letter and photos if you desire. Thank you for
taking the time to read our letter. If you would like to find out
