Dear Birthmother,
We have a unique life perspective to offer a child, as Stephen is from England, and Wendy, from California. We met in 1994 after having been pen pals for six months and were married five months later! After 13 years of marriage, we are truly best friends. Our marriage is centered on love, respect, and trust. As parents, we want to help your child pursue his or her dreams and encourage him or her in all they do. Nothing is more important or exciting to us than becoming parents and sharing our life and love with a child.
We have been planning financially to have children for quite a few years, as it has always been our dream to have Wendy be a stay-at-home mom. With this in mind, we moved to North Carolina a few years ago from California, and we now live very close to Wendy's parents, sister and family, and cousins.
Our community is very family-oriented, and sports, the arts, and great universities are all nearby. Some things we enjoy doing are snorkeling, sailing on our nearby lake, driving our classic British cars, traveling, movies, gardening, shopping, cooking and baking, and walks.
About My Dear Husband Stephen...
Stephen is truly my soul mate. He is kind, thoughtful, and loving. He will often surprise me with flowers or a gift when I least expect it. Stephen is intelligent and logical, and enjoys strategy games such as chess, and loves tinkering on cars. I am blessed that he can fix just about anything around the house. He can't wait to buy our kids their first tool box!
While Stephen is also a fully-trained chef, his active profession is in sales and marketing. He is a well-respected leader in his company, and is known for his integrity and professionalism. Stephen is well-organized and handles stress well. He is blessed with a very positive outlook on life, and has a fantastic sense of humor. He is truly a kid at heart!
About My Beautiful Wife Wendy...
Wendy has a tremendous capacity for kindness and compassion, and is liked by everyone she meets. (Our niece exclaims “Auntieeeee!” with great glee and joy whenever she sees her). She’s old fashioned in her values and dreams about being a stay-at-home mom and baking cookies, reading to, and cuddling our children. With a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Wendy loves to decorate, is a great cook, manages our financial affairs, and creates a warm, loving home life.
Wendy loves to sing, and has even sung for President Reagan! She volunteers regularly for the Food Bank and gives of her time to building our local YMCA. An advocate for quality education, she will be a loving and nurturing mother, the kind every child should have.
At Home in North Carolina
We live in a two-story home on a third of an acre in a new and growing neighborhood, filled with families with children. It has four bedrooms (including a nursery) and a fully fenced, large backyard with space for our Bouncy Castle and a future play set! Our backyard backs up to woods, so we get to enjoy the deer, birds, bunnies, and squirrels who frequent our yard. Nearby there is a new hospital, a fire station, good schools, and shopping, not to mention a lake for weekend recreation. We plan to adopt a dog or two in the very near future.
Family tradition is important to us as well. We imagine Sundays with our child going to church in the morning, having a traditional English Sunday dinner, and spending time as a family. Holidays are filled with time together and traditions of cookie baking, tree trimming parties, and evenings by the fire just enjoying "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." We cherish the memories each tradition creates for our family and we look forward to sharing these and making new traditions with your child.
