Dear Birthmother,
We are both blessed and honored that you are taking the time to consider us as possible parents for your child. We are Terrence and Jennifer, and we are overjoyed with the thought of sharing the stability, joy, peace, & unconditional love that the Lord has blessed us with. We always believed we would adopt, and now we are hoping to adopt our firstborn.
Our Courtship & Marriage
In the 5th grade, Terrence said to his best friend that he would someday marry Jennifer. We started dating in high school and were married 4 years later. We learned the meaning of unconditional love as a married couple, and now have been married for nearly 15 years.
Our Faith
We share a very strong faith; we are very actively involved in our local church. In 2001, Terrence accepted God's call to service in Christian ministry and in 2005 was ordained. Jennifer has served in numerous roles involving the children and youth; everything from teaching church school to coordinating field trips and other outreach youth activities as the chairperson for the Youth Department.
About Terrence
Terrence is the love of my life and I thank God for creating him just for me. He has a gentle and loving spirit and everyone that comes in contact with him loves him. I love to see him interact with children because he is able to make them feel so loved, safe, and secure. Terrence would make a wonderful father because I have seen him as a father figure in the lives of so many family members and friends. In his spare time Terrence also enjoys cooking and entertaining others. Our family is always waiting to see what he has "created."
About Jennifer
From the beginning, I had a "knowing within my heart" that Jennifer was especially designed by God just for me. She is more than I could have asked for and far better than I deserve. She became a Pediatric RN primarily because of her love for children and a desire to meet their needs. Even in church, her pew is referred to as the nursery because all the kids flock to her. God has truly imparted his concern for children down on the inside of "my wife" and she will make a "phenomenal mother" to any child. Her heart is filled with gentleness, love, concern, and compassion. I am so blessed to be her husband and my daily prayer is that God will show me how to love her as much as He loves me.
Our Family
Family for us is critically important and an essential part of our daily lives. We have been blessed with one cohesive family. The in-laws bonded almost instantly and they have loved each other for years. As a young married couple, we frequently and regularly hosted over-the-weekend house parties for our godchildren, nieces, and nephews. As those children have grown older, the parties ceased, but they still hold fast to the memories! In addition to our actual family, our church family is extensive and the love for one another is profound.
Our Home
We built a three story, four bedroom, two and a half bath home in Alabama on a hillside overlooking a lake. The neighborhood is full of rolling hills and wooded walking areas near parks, and is accessible to nearby groceries, shopping, and medical resources. We are planning to send our child to private school.
Our Travels
Throughout our marriage, we have enjoyed the opportunity to travel many places around the world. We are looking forward to sharing the beauty of God's creation with our child. In addition to extended vacations we also love to take weekend getaways. We want to show our child so much of the world and we purposely saved some special destinations just for him/her.
In Closing
We have looked forward to adoption for years. Terrence himself was adopted, and as a youth became aware of this for the first time. We will honor you as your baby's birthparent and we will speak openly of you when your child asks, as well sharing your child's special adoption story throughout his/her life.
We have already prayed for you and the child that God will entrust unto us. If you choose us, please know that we will provide a happy, stable, fun environment and to teach the unconditional love of God.
We are open to sharing letters and photos if you wish. If you wish to speak to us or to learn more about us, please contact Lifetime, at 1-800-923-6784.
