We are a bi-racial couple, married for the last seven years. We met when introduced to each other by a mutual friend. We are both lovers of movies, theater, music and art. We attend live concerts and plays whenever possible, and when we travel, we go to art galleries in the cities we visit, from New York, New York to Bangkok, Thailand to Seville, Spain. We are a couple who love adventures in travel, and we really look forward to sharing these special times with children.

About Val
Adults and children alike seem to gravitate to Val's considerable charm and charisma. If Val is heading somewhere, there is usually a group of folks happily following. He is charming, passionate, intellectually gifted, spiritually aware, deeply kind to others, and a true inspiration to so many.

He has made a lifelong commitment to bettering the lives of children, whether it was through his professional career or his volunteer work for the past 30 years as director of a camp for children with disabilities.

I knew the moment I met him that he was the father of my children, and I can’t wait to see him flourish in that role. I feel truly grateful to know and love this human being, and particularly proud that he chooses me as his partner in life above all others.

About Robin
Robin is the light of my life and is the reason I strive to be a better man. While she is patient, kind and loving; she is also very funny and quick to laughter—she brings great joy to my life and all of those fortunate enough to have her in their lives. She is loyal and strong in her defense of our family and me, and is fiercely protective of those she loves. She cares deeply for this world and how we all respect each other.

She is so beautiful in mind and spirit, and creates a warm and inviting environment in our home and life with others. She possesses above average talent in so many areas, and she will make one of the best mothers the world has ever known because she will sacrifice for, teach, and support her children.

About Our Home
Our home is a charming mid-century house on a corner lot with beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay and the Marin Headlands.

Our neighborhood is a safe and friendly place, with several grade schools and playgrounds within a few blocks of our home. Our neighbors are a diverse group of professionals, many of whom have children, and we all look out for each other.

About Our Family
Robin is the oldest of six children, three of whom were adopted from Seoul, Korea. She and her next youngest sister were also both adopted by her father, Dan. The girls came into his life from Robin’s mom’s first marriage. Dan is a wonderful man and a Methodist minister who felt a calling to adoption after hearing another give a sermon of the topic of adoption.

Val is the youngest of three boys, and is very close to his brother Byron and his mother, Elizabeth, who are both thrilled about the possibility of a new addition to the family! We have two nephews and four nieces who can’t wait to meet their new cousin or cousins!
