then and now story with David an ChantelLifetime adoptive couple David and Chantel were doubly blessed by adoption; they adopted both their son and daughter through us! Today in our blog series Then and Now“, we’ll share this California couple’s adoption story.

Read on to learn about their adoptions, and get tips as potential adoptive parents that will help you during your adoption wait!

As they started their first adoption journey with Lifetime, they shared, “We both come from completely different backgrounds, but have created a unique life together. David was born and raised in Mexico, and Chantel, in a small town in Northern California. We’ve always known that adoption was part of our life journey.”

We are excited to add to our family through adoption for a second time!” David and Chantel exclaimed as they began the path to the adoption of their second baby, a girl.

We struggled with infertility, and were blessed through adoption with our son, Liem. We are ready to expand our family and look forward to sharing both our cultures as well as teaching both English and Spanish.

We have a four bedroom house in a small quiet community, next to a nature preserve and walking trail. Our neighborhood is a good mix of people and families who really look out for each other. We take pride in having an inviting, stylish house that allows us to entertain our family and friends.”

Through infant adoption, David and Chantel were blessed to adopt a baby boy, Liem, in 2012. Then, just a month ago, they adopted a baby girl, Braely!

Here’s a sweet video with highlights from both adoptions:

david and chantel liam.jpgDavid and Chantel wrote to us, “From the first second we saw Liem, we knew that he was our child and that God had made him especially for us. He was born with tons of hair and he was nine pounds, nine ounces. His birth mother wanted to see him and us at the hospital. The most touching part was that she, in pain, got up from her bed while holding Liem and physically handed him to us. We will always cherish that moment.

And about the adoption of their daughter, David and Chantel shared, “We love our easy-going girl! She’s such a doll! Braely is a tiny, precious little girl!

We pray for Braely’s birth mother and our potential relationship with her. We are in love with our little girl, who is super easy going. Her big brother is very busy, so they complement each other perfectly as she is patient with him wanting to help us care for her.

david and chantel braely.jpgGod once again answered our prayers. Holding her gives us peace knowing God’s perfect plan. We must always trust His timing because it is always perfect!

Thank you Lifetime for always being there when we needed information or encouragement! Kimberly at Lifetime helped communicate with the hospital social worker and lawyer when we were waiting for Braely to be born. It is always nice to know Lifetime staff is there to help.

Both our children are Lifetime babies and we love that they have that in common! Happy and blessed!”
