then and now dustin and crystll-1.jpgToday, Lifetime Adoption is excited to be able to share another successful couple’s adoption story in our blog series “Then and Now.” Our Lifetime adoptive family today is Dustin and Crystll from North Dakota.

Our adoption staff were blessed with a visit from this couple just after their adoption took place!

As they started their adoption journey with Lifetime, they shared, “We have been together for over 10 years and married for just over four years. After failed IVF attempts, we’re wanting to expand our family through adoption!”

dustin crystll profile.jpgIn their adoption profile, Dustin and Crytsll wrote, “We promise to love and support your child as they grow into the person they aspire to be, to help them chase their dreams and obtain their goals. As we go through this journey together we will provide you with photos, letters and visits if you would like.

We appreciate you looking through our profile. The excitement that we have on this journey is contagious! The support that we have received from family, friends, coworkers and our community is unbelievable.  Everyone is excited to meet our new little family member(s)!

11 years ago we were set to meet on a blind date and 11 years later we are still in love with each other! After dating for 6 years, we were married and have been trying to grow a family ever since,  we are excited to embrace the incredible gift that is adoption!  We love to go snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, we also enjoy being outdoors, gardening, spending time with family and friends, and dancing! It’s hard to put into words how excited we are for this journey!”

Through Lifetime, Dustin and Crystll were blessed to adopt a baby boy Karsin just a few weeks ago! They were able to travel to Lifetime’s headquarters to meet everyone who helped make their adoption possible.

Dustin and Crystll visit with Lifetime's staffWe’re so happy for this family! Dustin & Crystll have been such a blessing for baby Karsin and the birth parents.

During their visit, Dustin and Crystll appeared with Adoption Coordinators Veronica Hofheinz and Patty Boyte in a Facebook Live video! “I absolutely love how you can’t stop taking your eye off of him. That right there is love! I am so happy for you! You are going to be wonderful parents!” gushes one commenter of the video.

When Patty asked them if they had anything to share with the adoptive families who are still waiting, Dustin replied, “Be patient. It’s worth the wait!”

About their open adoption relationship with Karsin’s birth parents, adoptive mom Crystll says “It’s gone good. We’ve met with them a couple times, and have set up different ways that we’re going to communicate back and forth throughout Karsin’s life. So, they can keep updated on him. And, they want to send gifts for his birthday and Christmas so we’ve chatted about that and about future visits.” This sounds like the makings of a beautiful open adoption story!
