3 Ways to Make Mother’s Day Special While Waiting to Adopt

by | May 10, 2008 | Adoptive Families Blog

Give to Others
This is a wonderful opportunity to bless others who may not have a mother or may have lost a child. A card, a flower, a phone call, or just a warm hug can go a long way for someone who is hurting. And, it will help you too! For when we use or time and energy to help others, we are focused on others’ needs and not or own sorrows.

Get Out of Town
It’s okay not to want to go places where you will be surrounded by mothers being recognized such as church, brunch, or other events. Do something special with your significant other. Go for a hike, to the movies, or sneak away overnight. Spend the day working on a home improvement project or doing an activity that you won’t be doing for a while when you have a baby in tow.

Help Birth Mothers
You may not personally know any birth mothers in your area, but remember that they are hurting today too. Through Lifetime Adoption Foundation you can help them by donating money for scholarships or physical goods, such as maternity clothes. Find away to help and make it matter!

Lifetime Foundation is currently seeking donations for new or gently used maternity pants of all sizes, and plus-sized maternity clothes. Please call 530-432-7383 to learn how you can make a tax deductible donation today.
