USA Adoption helps women who are currently enlisted in the military and wish to make an adoption plan for their baby or child. Are you currently pregnant and in the military? If so, you might be stressing over how you are going to do it all-being deployed, plus raising a child. For the women who decide they will parent, there are means to make it work. But, what if you cannot parent (or aren’t ready to) but also don’t want to get an abortion?
USA Adoption recently worked with a woman who had just served her first few years, then became pregnant. Her relationship with a civilian didn’t work out, and she couldn’t afford to be a single mother. She shared that she’d had an abortion at 16, and it wasn’t something she could cope with again. Instead, she picked an adoptive family to raise her child.
She made an open adoption plan, and so she choose the lifestyle she wanted for her son. She found a family that would love him unconditionally and help him go to college. She was still a part of his life with visits and photos, and he is growing up proud knowing that his mother is serving his country. She has plans to finish college when her tour of duty is complete. On her last visit state side, she was able to spend time with her son and his family.
If you’re pregnant and unsure about the best choice for you and your child, consider adoption. It is a choice that can offer the best of both worlds: for you to continue your career, while giving your child the gift of life and family. Give us a call 24 hours a day at 1-800-923-6784 to receive free help and assistance with an adoption plan.
