What if I want to choose the parents who adopt my baby, but don’t feel comfortable keeping in touch later on?

birth mom not comfortable with open adoption

Or what if I want a closed adoption? Open adoption means you decide how things go. It’s up to you how involved you want to be with the adoptive parents before or after the adoption. You may also decide later if you’re comfortable receiving updates or staying in touch. We can assist you in making a “closed” adoption, if you choose not to select or know the adoptive parents or keep in touch after. In these cases, it’s good to know that even if you want little to no contact with the adoptive family, they are open to sharing updates with you in the future, if you ever change your mind about keeping in touch or want to know how your baby is doing. Open adoption allows flexibility throughout your child’s life to keep in touch at your comfort level, or to remain out of contact.
