Hello from Tennessee,
Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We were blessed to adopt our son, and we would love to grow our family in this way again. We have an open adoption with our son’s birth mother, and we would welcome a relationship with you, if you’d like. Our days are full of laughter, learning, encouragement, family, and we are looking forward to sharing it all with your child!
We met in college and have now been married for about 10 years. When we found out that we couldn’t have children biologically, we felt strongly that God led us to adoption. Becoming parents to our son has been all we dreamed of, and more! We adopted him in 2017 and he has been the biggest blessing of our lives.
We love to travel, and we also love the everyday things, like going out to eat and trying new restaurants, going to the zoo or the park, and attending mass together. We’re also sports fans and attend Nashville Predators hockey games when we can. We truly enjoy time together, doing just about anything.
What I love most about Colby is his passion and strength. He can remove any stress and takes care of us with all he has. He is funny, kind, and passionate with our loved ones; he would do anything for those dear to him. Colby loves all things sports. He is also an avid reader (books are his passion), and he loves animals of all kinds. He always asks if we can get another dog!
With Colby being the associate director of athletic communications for the local college, we get to attend many sporting events, and we have so much fun going to them as a family. Even after a long day of work, he comes home with energy to play with our son. He is such a wonderful father, and I am excited to see him with another little one.
Sarah is the smartest person I know, and also the kindest. She gives me the courage and conviction to dream big and always believes in me. She loves her job as a statistician and gets to train the next generation of doctors! Her passion is helping people and always looks for ways to make someone’s day a little better.
Sarah loves all things arts and crafts and enjoys a new project. She volunteers at the local college by mentoring students, loves to go to plays or concerts around town, and is a huge Harry Potter fan! Her number one priority is our family, and she would do anything for us. She has embraced motherhood and would love to share our life with another child.
Our son is going on 4 years old, full of energy, and always on the go. He loves kids and is so sweet with the babies at his pre-school. He will be the best big brother! We’ve talked about adoption with him from the start, sharing bedtime stories about adoption, and praying for his birth family. We keep in touch with his birth mother too, and would be glad to share an open adoption with you as well.
All of our family lives within a couple of hours of us, and we enjoy visits with them often. Sarah’s sister just had a baby girl and Jack adores being a big cousin, helping out when he can. Our loved ones have always been supportive of our adoption story and they are excited to welcome another child to the family! We are lucky to have such a great support system in our lives.
Sarah’s favorite family tradition is singing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus on Christmas or our big breakfast for lunch on Christmas Eve. We also take an annual trip to the lake with our college friends and their families every summer. We all stay on a cattle ranch in cabins, and the kids have a blast getting to go out on the boat!
Our Home in Tennessee
Our home has 3 bedrooms, a playroom, and a large yard to play in. We live just outside of Nashville, around the corner from beautiful walking trails. We will convert our guest room to a nursery after we adopt, to personalize it for our child. Sarah loves to organize our home, and we’ve renovated the formal dining room into a library (Colby’s dream!).
We love everything about living in our town and have a great community. We are a big sports family and love to go to football, baseball, and especially professional hockey games (Go Preds!). There is also a performing arts theater nearby where we love to see Broadway plays and local performances.
We’ve rescued two dogs, Peanut and Linus, who are very playful and great with children. We love taking them to the dog park and playing fetch.
We promise to always remember and cherish you as a special part of our family’s story. We promise to love your child with all our hearts and be there for every moment, soccer game, tea party, and school play. We will raise your child in a faith-based household where he or she will be encouraged to pursue higher education. Your child will be surrounded by our supportive family and friends and will always have people to lean on.
If you desire, we are open to sharing letters and pictures and visits with you. Currently, we share updates and pictures with our son’s birth mom through email every couple of months, and we will be happy to keep in touch with you as well. To talk with us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Fun fact about when we met:
Sarah says: The first thing I ever said to Colby was "Do you have a chainsaw?" Because of that, we actually had a chainsaw cake at our wedding!
What we love about where we live:
• The built-in library inside our home (Colby reads 12,000 pages, on average, every year!)
• Going to Nashville Predators Games!
• Always something to do, like splash pads, parks, bike rides, trail hikes, and festivals
Sarah loves magic shows and always looks to see if there's a local magician in places we visit. Colby loves to go to used book stores and see if there are any new treasures to add to his collection.
What adoption means to us...
Adoption made us parents! We feel so blessed that our son's birth mother would choose us, and trust us, to raise him; to get this chance to become a family together. To us, open adoption means our family grows by more than just a child. We will always hold our children's birth mothers in a very special place in our hearts.
We would love to get to know you and the hopes you have for your baby! We feel so blessed to have adopted our son, and we're ready, and excited, to grow our family through adoption again. Please contact Lifetime if you'd like to talk with us or learn more.
