Watch Our Video

Hello there! We are Hans and Jenn. We are a generous, hospitable, and loving Christian couple from a growing small town in Ohio. Time with each other, as well as with family, is very important to us. We love to travel and explore, both near and far. Jenn’s father was adopted as a newborn and Hans’ father was raised in a foster home. Both fostering and adoption have been important to us in our marriage. We recently finished fostering children, and are ready to become parents through adoption. Thank you for checking out our page and learning more about us! We’d look forward to meeting you and your child soon!

About Us

We met at Jenn’s church in October 2016 when family members introduced us. We got married just over two months later in December. We knew it was God’s plan for us to be together. We are best friends! We make time to talk and have devotions over coffee every morning when Hans is home from trucking. We each attend small groups at church every Sunday where we grow in our faith, and grow closer to our church family.

We are both adventurous and love to travel and see new places. Our favorite state to visit, so far, is Michigan. We love the Upper Peninsula part of the state, especially the Pictured Rocks boat ride on Lake Superior–it’s breathtaking! We also enjoy going to other places in Michigan like Sleeping Bear Dunes, the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth, fossil hunting and beach-combing on Lake Michigan, and stargazing at Headlands International Dark Sky Park. We enjoy local visits to Ohio zoos, shopping at nearby Amish Country stores, and watching movies at home or at the theater. We also like to swim with family, play a board or card game, go to a pro baseball game, attend a family sporting event, and enjoy an occasional game of bowling.

About Jenn

Hans says: Jenn is a beautiful person inside and out. When we first met, it was her pretty looks and her hospitality that lured me in. I knew right away that I wanted to marry her. She is a hard worker and keeps our house tidy and clean. She is a wonderful cook. I love her lasagna! She is very easy to talk with and I can easily express my feelings. She keeps me focused on God, and as a result I seek God’s guidance in our lives more. She has nurtured and cared for children of all ages since she was a young teen, including her nieces and nephews, church nursery infants, and elementary kids in junior church. She currently works as a waitress, but will transition to staying at home with our child after we adopt.

Jenn enjoys painting pottery, shopping, putt-putting, swimming and planting flowers. She looks forward to coloring, swimming, reading bed time stories, going to the zoo, and baking cookies with our child one day.

About Hans

Jenn says: Hans is a sweet and fun-loving guy who is a kid at heart. Some of his favorite things are working with wood, drawing, fossil hunting, golfing, coin collecting and American history. Hans loves this country, and proudly served as a radioman in the Navy as a Submariner for nine years. I enjoy sharing life with him! He is a godly man who encourages me in my Christian walk. I can share my thoughts and ideas with him freely, especially because he is easy-going and also my best friend. Hans is very funny and is always making me laugh.

I can picture Hans being a wonderful dad, which I got glimpses of while we were fostering. He’s great with children! I saw him get on their level, play and interact with them. He also loved on them and treated them like they were his own children. So, I know he will do great as an adoptive dad. Hans would love to teach our child how to play sports and make basic car or house repairs, just as much as he’d be willing to play tea party or dress up.

Our Family

We both have large close knit families, whom we spend a lot of time with. Our families live close to each other and we all go to the same church. Together we have eleven nieces and nephews, so a lot of cousins for our little one to play with someday! We like to travel with both sides. Each year we travel with one side of the family. Jenn’s family travels to Gatlinburg staying a week in a large cabin together. Hans’ family likes to travel to different places including Michigan, South Carolina, Texas, and New Mexico. Hans’ side loves the beach while Jenn’s side loves lakes and mountains.

Our Home in Ohio

We live in a fully renovated 3-bedroom ranch home on a half-acre of land. Our large backyard is exposed to peaceful views of corn fields and grazing cows and sheep. We live on the edge of a growing small town, which contains parks, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. A new sidewalk and bike path have been recently added to our street, which we use and intend to use more as we grow our family. We have a finished basement that will be used as a playroom and another family room. The nursery is complete and ready to go!

Our Promise

We promise to raise your child in a loving, godly home where they will receive lots of love and guidance. We will take them to church every week and share God’s love with them. We will share with them as much about you as possible and let them know about their adoption story. We would love to be in contact with you, if you want an open adoption, and share their milestones that they accomplish. It would be an honor to talk with you about what you picture for your child’s future and want as far as a connection with us.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Travels

Through Hans' work, he gets four weeks of vacation a year. We space each vacation week out to take time off each quarter. Two of those weeks, we like to plan vacations far from home. The other two weeks we stay close to home to take care of house projects and do day trips together. Sometimes we even enjoy trips to visit one of our former foster children, who lives in South Carolina now. We look forward to making lifelong memories of family vacations with our child one day!

Our Faith

We love God because He first showed His love to us through the life of Jesus Christ. We both are Christians. We faithfully attend a Baptist church weekly, where we believe the Bible is true. We will teach our child about God and His love.

Our Holiday Traditions

Every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter we alternate which family we spend the day with. We've learned to compromise quickly. Hans' favorite holiday is Christmas, and Jenn's favorite holiday is Easter. Jenn's family has a traditional meal for all three of these holidays. Hans' family has a traditional meal for Thanksgiving. We go to Jenn's sister's house to watch her kids open Christmas presents. We decorate our house accordingly to each season. Our Christmas tree goes up after Thanksgiving, and Christmas songs are not normally enjoyed until then as well. Jenn loves baking cookies, especially around Christmas. Hans' mom creates gingerbread houses with her grandkids, and she will do the same with our child.

Our Friends

Just about all of our friends go to our church and have multiple children. We all enjoy going to each other's houses for meals, fireside chats and having good fellowship together. We help and support each other by bringing meals and babysitting. Their families have all be loving and supportive as we fostered children. We love our church family! Our friends have been praying for us to grow our family and have even helped us prepare for the process to adopt. We think hey are almost as excited as we are to meet the child we'll be chosen to adopt!

In Closing

We appreciate you taking time to read about us! We promise to give your child lots of love and support throughout their life. We will share with them Christ's love, and will raise them in church. Your child will receive a great education through homeschooling and a Christian school. We will be supportive of their dreams, and point them to God's will for their life. We are willing to have an open adoption with you, if you so desire.
