Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us! We are a young couple that has always dreamed of having a family. After struggling with infertility for the past few years, we felt God leading us to grow our family through adoption. We are so excited and ready to welcome our first child into our lives and hearts through an open adoption!
Our story started 7 years ago playing Jenga at a birthday party! We have now been married for 5 amazing years. We love to have fun and enjoy each other’s company! You can often find us playing board games, snuggled up on the couch watching a movie or new show, or grabbing a coffee and going on walks together around our neighborhood! You might also find us in our backyard reading, barbequing with friends or family, or just talking and enjoying the weather! We also have a love for travel and getting to experience new places!
Our Christian faith is the foundation of our marriage and life. We feel blessed that God has led us to adoption and are excited to share our faith and love for life with your child
Meet My Husband, Matt
Matt is a caring, loving and dedicated person. Whether he is focused on a project for work or fixing something around our house, he always dedicates the same level of care and attention. He highly values family and you can often him find him FaceTiming with his brother and parents or spending quality time with me.
Matt likes fun and adventures; whether in the form of a good book, movie, or game, taking a hike or vacationing somewhere new. Most of all, he boldly follows wherever Christ leads us. I know the love and care he shows for everyone around him will be the same love and care he will show our child.
Meet My Wife, Shannon
Shannon is a playful, upbeat, and nurturing person by nature. She is a person who always provides for the needs of those around her. From a young age, her siblings liked to call her “mini-mom” because she is always looking out for them and giving them advice. Shannon is starting her 11th year at an elementary school and loves her job as a reading teacher. Close friends often reach out to her for advice because of her extensive experience with kids.
Shannon is also very creative. She loves to do interior decorating and always keeps our house clean and orderly. She can often be found in the kitchen making delicious, healthy food for me since I have multiple food allergies. Shannon’s love for children and her nurturing personality is going to make her an amazing mom!
Home Sweet Home in Virginia
Our home has three cozy bedrooms. Our room, a guest room where you can find family stopping by throughout the year, and our nursery, ready for rocking chair cuddles and bedtime stories. We have a big, open kitchen that is often filled with the smell of homemade soups and delicious homecooked meals. Our living room is perfect for hosting family and friends! We have a beautiful backyard which is perfect for gathering, playing, and relaxing in! We are lucky to have a brand-new park right across the street too!
We live in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood in northern Virginia. Our neighborhood has multiple parks throughout and is in walking distance to a public library. We also live minutes away from a small, town area that has ice creams shops, coffee shops, and holds a weekly farmers market! Our home is right down the road from our church and a few minutes’ drive from our elementary school!
As the first grandchild on both sides of our families, your child will be spoiled with lots of snuggles, attention, and love (especially from two very excited grandmas to be). Our families love to have get togethers especially over the holidays! We like to visit our family’s homes in places like southern Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia! Both of our families have been extremely supportive of our adoption and are excited to welcome the newest family member to all of our fun!
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We promise to provide a safe, loving, supportive home for your child where they can grow, learn, and explore. We promise to share our faith with your child and help them develop their own love for God. We are happy to keep in touch with you in ways you feel comfortable like through letters, pictures, and visits. We’re excited to welcome your child into our joy-filled home full of love, laughter, learning, and faith in the Lord who has so greatly blessed and enriched our lives. Our faith is extremely important to us. It is the foundation for our marriage and life. We both make time to read our bibles daily and we host a bible study group in our home. We attend a large non-denominational church just a few minutes from our home that has wonderful children’s programs. Our hope is to share and model our love for Jesus with our child and help him or her to grow in their own faith.
Our neighborhood has multiple parks throughout and is in walking distance to a public library. We are also located in a highly rated public school district and our elementary school is only a few minute drive from our house! Not only do we have so many wonderful things right outside our doorstep, but we are also a short drive from downtown Washington D.C. where we can visit historical monuments and museums. We are excited to share all these fun local places with your child!
Matt works as a project manager for a video game company. He has been with the company for 11 years and worked on several high-profile games. He works with diverse, multi-discipline teams throughout the world which has given him an appreciation for different cultures and points of view. While most of his time is spent in meetings, spreadsheets, and emails, he does get to play games before they come out!
Shannon has spent her career working as a teacher in an elementary school. She has taught Kindergarten and second grade and now works as a reading teacher in her school. She gets to work in lots of classrooms around her school helping teachers and students develop a love for reading. She already has boxes full of favorite books ready to be shared with your child!
