Hello! We are honored to be considered as adoptive parents for your child. It’s important to us that our children each understand their inherent dignity and worth, that we support each other daily, and try to be better than we were the day before. We value education, traveling, helping others, creativity, imagination, and music, and will provide every opportunity for our kids to pursue their dreams.

It would be great to get to know you, find out what kind of adoption you’d like, and learn what you want for your child’s future.

About Us

Our story started with love at first sight, 6 years ago! We met right after Scott moved to the area, and we were working at the same hospital, caring for the same patient. To this day, we just simply enjoy each other’s company!

As a blended family, we know what it means to say “love makes a family.” When we met, Bernadette had 2 little boys, who now call Scott “Daddy.” We knew early on that we wanted to grow our family further. Pregnancy was very difficult for Bernadette, so we felt a calling to adoption.

We both come from big families and share a Catholic faith. Helping others brings a happiness and fulfillment to our lives, which is why working in the medical field is so rewarding for us.

Together we like:
• Weekend family walks to our favorite coffee shop and the park
• Visiting the family cabin in the Pocono Mountains for summer swims at the lake or winter skiing
• Summers at the ocean, for the beach, boardwalk, and game nights (Scott always loses!)

About Bernadette

I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). I help patients with procedures for cancer treatment. It’s a privilege to make sure each patient feels safe and truly cared for. I absolutely love what I do!

According to Scott…
Bernadette loves her family so deeply, and much of her happiness comes out of caring for others. She’s taught me that you can never run out of love to give. Bernadette is known by friends and family for her laugh, and once she gets started it’s hard to get her to stop—and we love it!

Bernadette enjoys:
• Popcorn and movies with the kids
• Teaching at our Karate school (the boys call her “Sensei-Mommy”)
• Skiing (she’s been skiing all her life!)

About Scott

I feel fortunate to have a job I love and am passionate about! I’ve been a surgeon for years, starting back when I was in the Army. As a surgeon, each day I have the chance to help my patients get well and enjoy their lives and time with family more fully.

According to Bernadette…
Scott puts effort and time into people he loves. Whether he’s building shelves for the boys’ Lego creations, or packing me a lunch, he makes sure we know we are cared for and loved. Scott is always happy to help with homework, dinner, or anything else around the house. He is fun and such a wonderful father!

Scott enjoys:
• Reading, especially history and science fiction
• Running and biking
• Playing guitar

Our Children & Family

We have two sons who are the best brothers (they call themselves “T & T: Makers of Fun). Tommy is 11 years old, and he’s always curious about how things work; he loves to read and quiz his brother on the things he’s been learning. Tyler is 9 years old, our little joker who loves to be silly and make others laugh. He is outgoing and loves to make friends.

Both boys are excited about welcoming a younger sibling and will share all they know about bugs and dinosaurs and good jokes.

Our Extended Family
We both come from large families and we love that many of them live locally. Bernadette’s dad, PapPap, lives with us too, so our kids will grow up with a sweet grandparent, right at home!

Holidays and get togethers are big in our family. There are lots of cousins to play with when we’re all together. Every year we enjoy one or two trips with our families too.

Our Home in Pennsylvania

We live in a historic neighborhood near Philadelphia. This area has a rich diversity of culture, history, people, religion, and ideas. We love it here!

Our home is a 3 bedroom townhouse with 4 stories, a library (also our music room!), and a rooftop garden deck. We can see the park from our house too. There’s a room ready to become the nursery and we’ve already started collecting things to decorate in a forest animal theme.

Our Promise

We are very close and attentive parents. We take our role to heart and promise to make sure your child will always know he or she is loved, safe, and valued. We will stress the importance of truth, kindness, and education. Your child will have everything he or she needs to become a happy, productive, healthy individual who can do anything he or she dreams. We will encourage our children to remember we are always here for them, no matter what.

If you’d like, we welcome continued contact with you. We feel open adoption is a wonderful choice and will honor our commitment to staying in touch throughout your child’s life. You will always be spoken of in love and we will be open with this child about how we all came together through adoption.
