Hello from Massachusetts! We are Scott and Linda, and we appreciate you taking the time to review our profile. We’ve been married for several years and are so excited to become first-time parents through adoption.

Our home is filled with home-cooked meals, woodworking projects, holiday get-togethers, movie nights, snuggling with our cat, and most importantly, laughter and love. We believe in raising children within a nourishing and fun environment and are excited to do so with your child. We are open to contact through letters, photos, and visits throughout your child’s life.

About Us

We met through a mutual friend who thought we’d be perfect for each other, and he was right! Our marriage is grounded on our deep understanding of each other, our strong love, and our silliness! We can make each other laugh at just about anything.

Shortly after we got married, we built our dream house in a quiet town. Over the years, we’ve truly enjoyed making our house a home, whether that be building built-in bookshelves or planting new flower beds. We love getting together with family & friends for any outdoor activity at any time during the year – hiking, biking, sailing, kayaking, or cross-country skiing. The mountains of northern New England are just a couple of hours away, and each summer we try to take at least a couple of weekend camping trips.

Lastly, we have a zest for learning new activities that we can enjoy together; our latest endeavor is a ballroom dancing class! We are truly blessed to enjoy life in so many ways, and we look forward to welcoming your child into our lives and into our adventures!

About Scott (by Linda)

Scott is the most supportive life partner I could have ever asked for. I admire his kindness, faith, compassion, level-headedness, and zest for life. When I am worried about something, he is always there to talk it through and to tell me it will all be ok. He is an engineer by day and has an innate ability to “figure things out”, which is handy in many situations. Scott loves working with his hands, whether that be fixing something at home or doing woodworking. So far, he has built our bed, nightstands, bookshelves, and dining room side table from scratch, and he is always looking for his next project. He also loves sailing and has a passion for the outdoors, which he cultivated through many years of scouting as a child. Scott will be an amazing father and is excited to share his love of the great outdoors!

About Linda (by Scott)

Silly, serious, and supportive; these three words describe only a portion of who Linda is.  She can make mundane things like grocery shopping enjoyable and fun; we often joke that Friday night is our Date Night at the supermarket! Regarding life’s serious things, Linda is a solid foundation that helps us weather the storms. Growing up, Linda’s dad ran a catering business that served Italian food, so she loves to cook! She’s recently mastered buttermilk biscuits; they are light, flakey, and oh-so delicious! Linda’s work is in health and well-being, so nutrition and fitness are important to her. She enjoys running (she’s run two marathons) and growing veggies in our garden in the summer. She also enjoys keeping our home organized and decorated, which instills a calm and warm environment. I know that she will be a caring, supportive, and loving mother.

Our Home in Massachusetts

Our 3-bedroom home is on a couple of acres of land, almost entirely surrounded by woods (deer frequently visit us!). We are located near the end of a cul-de-sac in a newer neighborhood that has a lot of young families and children. In addition to a large backyard, we also have a trail close by where we can walk, bike, or cross-country ski in the winter. Our yard has provided many opportunities for us to garden, including picking from our 14 blueberry bushes and making pesto sauce from our many basil plants every summer.

We frequently have snow in the winter, warm (but not scalding) summers, and absolutely beautiful falls. We are an hour from Boston and 30 minutes from Providence, giving us an opportunity to engage in city activities like shows and athletic events.

Our Family

Our parents are thrilled for us on our adoption journey as this will be the first grandchild on both sides. We both have one sister, and we get together frequently with them and their families for outdoor activities, game nights, holidays, and vacations. Each year both sides of our families gather at our house for Thanksgiving, and each year Linda learns a few new tricks on how to judge the turkey cook time! We started a tradition of “surprise date nights” which sometimes morph into larger gatherings (such as surprise birthday parties!). We think there is something magical in the element of surprise and will keep the tradition of surprise family outings going with your child. Lastly, we have a wonderful elderly cat named Greylock (after the tallest mountain in Massachusetts), who is as lovable as he is cute.

Our Promise

Our home and family provide an environment of unconditional love, and we promise to ensure your child always feels that every step of the way. We promise to teach, nurture, provide the best education possible, and allow your child to explore his/her passions. We are open to sharing letters, pictures, and visits, and we look forward to speaking with and getting to know you.

More About Our Family

Five Favorite Things About Where We Live

• We live close to extended family and friends, allowing for frequent get-togethers.
• Our neighborhood is quiet, and our house is set back from the road, making it feel like our private oasis (and a great place for a child to play).
• We have a trail that leads to a large state forest in our town, where we can bike, hike and swim in the summer.
• We love having both Providence and Boston not too far away and all the cultural opportunities that provides.
• We are strong believers in the phrase “There is no bad weather, only bad clothing” and we take full advantage of all four seasons of Massachusetts. We love having favorite activities inside and outside any time of the year.

Our Faith

We are practicing Catholics. Scott grew up Catholic and Linda converted to Catholicism a couple of years ago. Our faith is important to us and we do our best to take advantage of opportunities to be lifelong learners, including reading and listening to podcasts. We are active in our church community, including lectoring at Mass and volunteering for the community breakfast on Saturdays.

Seasonal Activities We Look Forward To

• Spring – planning summer garden projects and watching our field of daylilies sprout.
• Summer – all things outside; hiking, sailing, kayaking, biking, traveling, setting up the croquet in the backyard, and playing each night after dinner on the patio.
• Fall – annual October camping trip in the New Hampshire mountains for spectacular fall foliage, planning for and enjoying Thanksgiving.
• Winter – the excitement of a “snow day” and the coziness of what that brings, homemade meals in the slow cooker, attending a college basketball game or two.

Our Travels

We have been blessed to have traveled to many parts of the world through work and leisure. Linda studied abroad in Italy and has traveled to several other countries in Europe and Asia for work. Since marriage, we’ve been blessed to see several US national parks and have taken trips to Ireland, Italy, and Costa Rica. Most recently, we took a trip with Linda’s sister and brother-in-law to the area in Maine, where Linda went camping as a child. We enjoy all sorts of travel, whether to learn about the history and culture of a place that may not be familiar to us or to take in the natural surroundings. Because our travel has so positively benefited us throughout our lives, we look forward to sharing this with a child.
