Thank you for taking the time to consider us as parents for your child. We are a down-to-earth, fun-loving couple who are excited to become parents through adoption!  To us as Christians, adoption is a beautiful display of the love that God has for us and we look forward to sharing that same lavish love with your child.  We enjoy traveling, cooking together, hosting friends and family for a meal or game night, and making the most of simple everyday moments.

About Us

We met at a young adults Bible study in 2014 and have been married for 5 wonderful years.  We have always had a strong desire to be parents and, after being unable to have children on our own and much prayer, we believe God is calling us to adopt.

We are both passionate about living life to the fullest and looking beyond ourselves to invest in the lives of others. Some of the things we enjoy doing as a couple are playing board games, growing our garden every summer, and canning preserves. We also love cooking together, and one of our favorite things to do in the evening is to make fresh guacamole or smoothies to snack on while we watch a movie or episode of a favorite show. At least once a year we go on vacation to both relax and learn more about the world.  We have traveled to 12 foreign countries so far and throughout parts of the US. One of our life goals is to eat ice cream together in all 50 states! We look forward to sharing these and many more experiences with your child.

About Seth

Seth is an encourager.  He is positive, outgoing, enthusiastic, and spontaneous. He is a devoted and loving husband, a strong leader, and a loyal friend.  Seth is a very smart guy, he successfully runs and operates our family farm and hay sales business and takes excellent care of our finances. But above his work, he intentionally takes time for prioritizing family and building relationships.  Seth is great with kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. He takes time to notice, care, and make them feel important. He puts 100% into everything he does, whether it’s working on the farm, playing disc golf or ultimate Frisbee, strategizing his next move in a game, or spending intentional time with family and friends. He is really good in the kitchen too and cooks breakfast for me almost every morning.  Seth looks forward to teaching our child life skills, building forts, and taking them on vacations.

About Keri

Keri is supportive, selfless, and nurturing. She exhibits patience when teaching and rejoices with others in their success.  She shows interest in others’ passions, emboldening them to go further.  She mentors the teen girls from our church, who adore her and seek out her advice. Keri has ambition and a drive to learn that has allowed her to become a published author, a savvy and honest business owner, and play the harp and piano. She loves to crochet little farm animals and is a phenomenal baker and cook.  Her monster cookies are delicious!  She has a passion for teaching kids about the Bible, and she coaches with calm and supportive enthusiasm.  Keri loves animals- especially her puppies! She looks forward to sharing that love with our child and being a stay-at-home mom to help our child develop their skills and achieve their goals.

Our Home in Ohio

Our home is a spacious old farmhouse which we have remodeled together.  It has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and is located on 15 acres with a big yard and lots of trees.  It is a safe, quiet place for us to relax after a long day and is also open and inviting to our family and friends. We love hosting church youth group events, game nights with friends, and Lord of the Rings movie marathons with our younger siblings.  Our house also features some unique nooks & crannies, which make for a great game of hide-and-go-seek!

Our Faith & Family

Our faith in Jesus is the foundation for everything we do and is the most important part of our lives.  We intentionally spend time in prayer and reading the Bible on a daily basis.  We have a wonderful church family that is very gospel-centered, discipleship focused and family-oriented. We are deacons of youth ministry and coach our church’s Bible Quiz team.

Both of our families are excited for us to be on this adoption journey.  We both come from large families and live within 20 minutes of our parents, most of our siblings, a niece and nephew, Keri’s grandparents and lots of extended family. Our families are close-knit, and we regularly share meals, play games, and celebrate birthdays and holidays with them. We’re thankful to have so much support as our own little family grows!

Our Promise

Adoption is beautiful, and we promise to talk to your child about their beautiful adoption story as a normal part of our everyday conversations.  We want them to know how loved they are by us, by you, and most importantly by God.  We look forward to reading with your child, teaching them how to bake, ride a bike, be creative, and build forts. We look forward to visits with the grandparents and cousins, traveling throughout the US and abroad, singing and memorizing Bible verses with them. We will instill a love of learning, and promise to provide your child with the opportunities and resources to grow and pursue their dreams.  We promise to honor you and keep in touch at your comfort level.

More About Our Family

Traditions

A lot of our traditions revolve around family, especially during the holiday season. Our extended families gather at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas and enjoy singing carols, playing charades and card games, having gift card or white elephant gift exchanges, and of course eating yummy homemade food. There's an annual Thanksgiving trap shoot on Seth's side of the family, and Keri's cousins play a late-night game of Risk every Christmas. Some of our traditions as a couple are going to see a Cleveland Indians game every summer hanging Christmas lights and attending musicals.

Ministry

Youth ministry is something we've both been involved in for many years, and we see now more than ever the need for teens to have godly mentors and role models. We lead the youth group at our church, which means meeting with a group of teens every week in our home to study the Bible, pray with them, and encourage them to seek God in their lives. During the winter our youth group participates in Bible Quiz, which is an awesome way for them to learn the Bible while making new friends and participating in healthy competitions. Coaching our youth in Bible Quiz is a true joy for both of us, and a highlight of the year!

Travels

We have grown, both personally and as a couple, by experiencing other cultures and ways of life, and this is something we will put a high priority on as parents. Our honeymoon took us to 9 different countries in Western Europe, and some of those highlights included seeing the Eiffel Tower, staying with a dairy farmer in Germany, hiking to the Anabaptist caves in Switzerland, and eating Belgium waffles! We have also visited Canada, Australia, and New Zealand together. Before getting married, Keri had the opportunity to travel to Ukraine, and Seth to China, Italy, Greece, Honduras, Jamaica, and Mexico. These experiences have helped to form our worldview and expand our appreciation for other cultures, ethnicities, climates, languages, and ways of life.
