We are from California and are thrilled to welcome your child into our growing family. We love being parents and raising our children together in our fun-loving family! Our home is near many places to have adventures, from beaches to mountains, and we look forward to sharing all this with your child. We are so grateful you have taken the time to consider us and look forward to having contact with you through phone, text, and video chats as you are comfortable.
We met in college, quickly became best friends, and have been happily married for 11 years. On our first date, we found out we shared a mutual love for coffee and desserts, but more importantly, we discovered we were both excited about parenthood. Five years after marriage we welcomed our first son, Asher, and had our second son, Ethan, three years later. We felt God calling us to adoption during those years and are thrilled to grow our family in this way now. As a couple, we enjoy playing card and board games, serving together at church, grilling outdoors, watching football (go Chiefs!), and laughing at our favorite comedies. We cherish the time the two of us spend together and as a family. We value raising our children together through mindful parenting, pointing them toward Jesus, and spending quality family time together. We look forward to building memories with your child as they join us in our many playground adventures, walking and biking in our neighborhood, picnics, crafts, reading books, family dance parties, grilling and eating outside, and many playdates with friends and family.
Stephen is an amazing husband and father. We’ve known each other for over 16 years, and he’s my best friend and confidant. Stephen has worked as a Staff Services Manager with the State of California for almost six years and enjoys supervising his team in a positive and encouraging environment. He is loyal, dependable, witty, and can strike up a conversation with anyone! Stephen enjoys cooking, grilling, working in the yard, listening to sports podcasts, reading long-form journalism, and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs! He has an old soul and always puts the needs of our family at the forefront. He is a patient and loving father who adores spending time with our sons whether it’s playing silly games with them or teaching them how to pitch a tent. He’s looking forward to loving and spending time with your child and helping them grow up in the Lord.
When I first met Renée, I was drawn to her cheerful personality and openness. Ever since she has continued to be my caring and ever-present companion. Her joy is infectious and she is quick with a kind word, patient, and mindful of those around her. Her compassion for her family, friends, and those in need is demonstrated daily through her service to those around her. In her free time, Renée loves tap dancing, reading historical fiction, sewing, and watching period pieces while enjoying her coffee or a bite of chocolate. As a stay-at-home mom, Renée keeps our boys engaged throughout the day with park visits, reading, crafts, and board games while peppering in tickles and impromptu dance parties. Renée will share her boundless affection with your child and looks forward to teaching them to love God and others.
Our Children and Family
We have two sons, Asher and Ethan.
Asher loves all things music–singing, drums, keyboard, and even the air guitar. He enjoys reading books, gardening, and learning about space and dinosaurs! Ethan loves Legos, construction machines, and anything that has large wheels. He enjoys climbing at the park, riding his balance bike, and crafting with Play-Doh! Both boys are very sweet and affectionate and are super excited to welcome a new sibling!
Stephen’s parents live nearby, and we see them regularly for dinners and gatherings. Renée’s mom and stepdad live in Florida, and it’s fun traveling to visit them at the beach. We both keep in regular contact with our parents, and they are all very supportive of our desire to grow our family through adoption. Our siblings live all throughout California, and we enjoy seeing them and their families for holidays and special occasions. We also have a 13-year-old dog, Nutmeg, who likes to watch over the boys as they play outside.
Our Home in California
We live in a three-bedroom home in a quiet, diverse, suburban neighborhood close to over 100 parks and playgrounds, numerous walking/biking trails, and open farmland. We have a large backyard with a playhouse, a grassy area to run around, space to garden, and an open area for grilling and dining outside. Our house has an open living room and dining/kitchen area which is great for quality family time. The nursery is all set up and ready to be personalized for your baby. There are top-rated K-12 public schools within walking distance from our home, and we are blessed to be surrounded by neighbors with many diverse ethnic backgrounds.
We promise to love your child unconditionally and provide them with a nurturing and affectionate home. We promise to discover your child’s talents and interests and to encourage him or her to pursue them wholeheartedly. We promise to motivate your child to thrive in their educational endeavors, from preschool to college. We will raise them up in the Lord and surround them with friends and family. We promise that your child will know who you are and how much you love and cherish them. We’ll hold you in the highest regard in our family as you will be a part of it going forward. We look forward to keeping in touch at your comfort level.

More About Our Family
A Family Tradition
One of our favorite family traditions is our annual summer trip to Lake Tahoe! We always start the day at the beach by jumping in the freezing water, building sandcastles, and having a picnic lunch. Then we enjoy giant ice cream cones at our favorite dessert spot under the shade of evergreen trees. We then end the day with a little hike in the woods where we search for the perfect pinecone to take home as a souvenir. We would be delighted to share this tradition with your child!
We believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior and we have attended the same non-denominational church for over 11 years. Our faith in Christ directs how we live our lives and serve our church and community. We are dedicated to teaching our children about God's love through reading the Bible together, attending church, surrounding them with love and encouragement from our church family, and participating in special activities like Vacation Bible School. Also, through Compassion International, we sponsor two children who live in Ecuador and we love being able to be the hands and feet of Jesus from abroad.
A Few Quirks About Us
Renee loves oldies from the ‘50s and ‘60s and enjoys writing silly haikus just for fun!
Stephen's coffee cups must be large and tall with a good sturdy handle--no small coffee cups!
Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about our family and considering us as parents to your child. It is our hope that we have an open and ongoing relationship with you through pictures, videos, letters, and visits as you desire. Your child will know your amazing love for them from us and especially from you.
