Walter & Kira

Hello! We are best friends who try to share our joy and love with others who cross our paths in life. We’re an outgoing, fun-loving, and down to earth couple and it’s so exciting to be in this process of adoption. Becoming parents has been a hope of ours for a long time and we’ve been through fertility issues along the way. Our story has led us here, to adoption, and we believe God has a plan for us to become first-time parents this way.

We’ll give our whole hearts and everything we have to be the best parents we can! Our schedules are already set up to let us be stay-at-home parents after we adopt. We’d love to learn about you and the life you want for your child.

Our Story

We met online 15 years ago (Kira sent the first message!) and our first phone call was 5 hours long. It was clear right away that we were meant to be. Now we’ve been married 13 years and are ready to share our lives with a child. We both work in real estate so our schedules are flexible for lots of family time. We plan for at least one of us will be with our child each day, throughout those early years.

Together we enjoy:
• Tailgating to barbecue & hang out with friends & other fans
• Going to football, baseball, & basketball games
• Weekend campfires & listening to music
• Playing card or board games, pool, ping pong, & air hockey
• Traveling (especially to see games for our favorite teams!)

About Kira

According to Walter: Kira is compassionate and caring. It’s hard for me to put into words how amazing she is to me, or how wonderful a mother I know she will be. Kira is great with the kids in our lives, always gentle and nurturing. She’s also strong and can handle anything!

Kira enjoys:
• Painting or making crafts
• Cooking, baking, & decorating cakes (she makes awesome wedding cakes!)
• Watching old shows or movies (especially old Disney favorites!)
• Volunteering to help those in need
• Reading to my nieces and nephews

About Walter

According to Kira: Walter is the sweetest, most kind, and best human I know. He loves others and will do anything to help someone. He is fun and full of energy. Walter will be the best dad! I know he’ll guide our child and show them how to treat others well.

Walter enjoys:
• Watching pro & college sports
• Fishing and camping
• Music
• Grilling or smoking meats
• Card or board games
• Comedy movies

Our Home in Oregon

We live in western Oregon, close to the coast and the mountains. There are lakes, rivers, forests, and farms all around us. Our house has 4 bedrooms, 2 living spaces, and a big backyard with plenty of space to play. We live close to good schools and parks that we can walk to. We love going to the farmers market or walk around our neighborhood or nearby parks. This will be a great place to raise a child!

Our Family

We both come from big families and have 4 siblings each. Kira’s family lives nearby, along with Walter’s sister. The rest of Walter’s family is in Arizona. Between us we have 20 nieces and nephews! We also have several close friends who are like family, here and in Nebraska, Colorado, and California.

Our loved ones are important to us and we love the traveling and see each other as much as possible. Adoption is part of our families’ stories on both sides—Kira’s uncle was adopted and Walter’s sister adopted children too. Everyone is excited about our plans to adopt!

Our Promise

We’ll be there for your child through anything and do what we can to help them become a well-rounded person. If you choose us to adopt your child, we promise to do our absolute best to be the mother and father that your child needs.

As parents we believe in:
• Teaching a child life skills, including a good education, financial responsibility, and problem solving.
• Providing structure with patience and love.
• Being an encouragement as they go for their talents or goals.
• Showing how to treat and respect others.
• Making family time a priority.
• Honoring your child’s story and how we came together through adoption.
