Zach & Alison

Thank you for considering us and helping our family grow! We both come from a strong foundation that consists of Christianity, family and Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We look forward to continuing these traditions with your child as well as sharing our love of history, travel and cultural arts.

We are born-again Christians with evidence shown in our words, our actions and our social circles. We both value education, as shown by our Bachelor and MBA degrees. We promise to teach your child their history, to have faith and have compassion for others. We will provide them with the best possible education, opportunities for leadership and making quality friends while in a loving and fun household. We look forward to having both you and your child become a part of our family.

About Us

We first met at college in the Southeast. Eight years later, we ran into each other at church in Houston. We instantly clicked and immediately fit into each other’s lives. We’re celebrating 16 years of marriage. We enjoy traveling, reading, time at our neighborhood park, performing arts, spending time with family and friends plus attending sporting events. We just attended our first cricket match ever, while in Barbados.

We look forward to including your child in our adventures around the world and providing him/her with a strong foundation and experiences that help them grow with the support of friends, family and loved ones.

About Zach

Zach is a calm, patient and dedicated man with a strong sense of faith that matches my own. He’s quick to stand up for the underdog and lends a listening ear to friends in need of help. They often ask for and follow his advice. He is wonderful with my family and the children took to him instantly! Zach enjoys cooking, Marvel Comics Universe, bike riding, reading, solving crossword puzzles and spending time with family. His latest hobby is assembling Lego kits, such as the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. I know he will be an amazing father and that he is looking forward to sharing his love of puzzles with our child.

About Alison

Alison comes from a long line of educators. She is very energetic, outgoing and always puts others first. She is never afraid to express herself and to stand up for those she feels are not being treated right. Alison is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and enjoys spending time supporting their various community service projects, especially the youth-centered plans. She enjoys reading, dancing and technology. Her guilty pleasures are staying current on the latest pop culture fads and watching a few reality shows. She is my biggest cheerleader and always has my back or those of her family and friends. I know that she will be a phenomenal mother.  She is looking forward to sharing her love of reading and performing arts with our child.

Our Home in New Jersey

We live in a family-friendly waterfront subdivision. We have a three-bedroom home with a playroom. Our community includes a clubhouse, swimming pool with lessons and a lifeguard, gym, tennis courts and a variety of play date activities for all children in the community year-round. Our home is walking distance from two parks and a grocery store.

We have parks, farmers markets, sports leagues of all ages and a diverse neighborhood, with several Black families. We’re less than 20 minutes from the cultural epicenter of theaters, dance companies, museums and libraries in New York City. We look forward to sharing it all with your child!

Our Family

Both of our families are beyond excited for our adoption. Alison’s family is already looking forward to teaching our child how to play golf and sharing the joys of reading and other sports. Zach’s family is anticipating sharing recipes and having a new cousin. We have a great village of people we’ve known for seven to 25 years that we consider family. They are so excited to welcome a new member. We are excited to introduce your child to our church family and will raise them in a faith-based household. We will provide cultural trips, playdates, interaction with other African-American families, and knowledge of self, plus the great people in their history.

Our Promise to You

We promise to love and cherish your child all our lives. We will help them discover their talents and interests, then provide them with support as they develop. We look forward to helping them grow up to be an independent, intelligent, kind and faith-filled member of society. They’ll be surrounded by family, love, and friends.
