I recently connected with Corbin and Paige, an adventurous, joyful couple in Michigan who are eager to start their family through adoption. If you’re considering adoption for your baby, you have the chance to meet and talk with people who want to adopt. This is an important part of the adoption process that gives you control over your decision.
Before you make any final choices, you can have conversations with hopeful adoptive parents. You can ask them all kinds of questions about their lives, their values, and how they plan to raise a child. Think of it like getting to know someone new: you can learn about their family, their home, what they do for fun, and what matters most to them.
I asked Corbin and Paige some fun questions that you won’t find in their adoption profile, and I learned that they’re a warm, faith-filled Michigan couple whose love story began as childhood best friends and has only grown stronger over ten years of marriage. They’re overjoyed to become parents through adoption and can’t wait to share their world of music, nature, creativity, and faith with a child!
1. What’s something specific you want to teach your child?
Something we want to teach our child is how much Jesus loves them! We love each other and those others around us because we understand His love for us.
We want to show them and be the example that everything we are and do flows from our relationship with Jesus. We want to champion them to be the best version of themselves, and help them become all they want to be. And to walk in integrity, work hard, and treat everyone with kindness!

2. What would a perfect day look like?
Paige: A perfect day would be filled with all the things I love. A perfect mix of productivity and relaxation. I would consider myself a morning person; some of my favorite days start early before the sun is up.
My perfect day would start with an early morning cup of tea, worship, and some time reading my Bible. I would then probably spend a couple of hours on my pottery wheel. My favorite thing is to “get in the zone” and just make one thing after another. I would love to read a good book with one of my cats on my lap. And then spend the rest of the day with my favorite person, Corbin, get take-out, and watch a funny movie!
Corbin: This past summer, I experienced what I would consider a near-perfect day! I had just gotten my private pilot’s license, so Paige and I flew to Lake Michigan to watch the sunset.
We grabbed food by the water and walked along the beach and down the pier. It was perfect because it was spontaneous and we didn’t have every moment planned, but it all worked out! It remains to be one of my favorite days yet!

Corbin and Paige’s lives in their video:
3. What was the last thing that made you laugh?
Laughter is such a staple in our home. I think we make it a competition to see who can get the other to laugh the hardest! We laugh often at our cats. They have big personalities and are very entertaining.
A couple of weeks ago, we were leaving a friend’s house, and Paige walked into the glass door, not knowing it was there! She was laughing and confused about what had stopped her from passing through the door. We laughed all the way home about it!

4. What did you love to do when you were a kid?
Paige: I loved playing with my baby dolls. At a young age, I knew that I wanted to be a mom. They each had a name, and I would pretend to change them and feed them. I took it very seriously!
I also loved to play with my brother and sister. Looking back, I admire our creativity and imagination! We would play for hours outside, making tree forts with our neighbor or playing in the creek that ran through our property. As an adult, my siblings remain some of my closest friends, and I cherish the memories we have of our childhood!
Corbin: Friends were everything to me. I couldn’t wait for our playdates. They were what I looked forward to most each week. Using our big imaginations and adventurous spirits, we would embark on day-long expansive trips into some world that we dreamed up. I would lie down for bed that night, still imagining and still dreaming.
5. What is the best gift you’ve ever been given?
Paige: Last year, Corbin surprised me with a new pottery wheel. The one I had previously wasn’t working very well, and I had mentioned a few times that I’d eventually like to get a new one. It was my birthday, and I came home to find a new wheel with a sweet, encouraging note! I was so surprised and touched that he got the exact one I had wanted. Corbin is an excellent gift-giver and listens and pays attention to the smallest details!
Corbin: My tenth birthday, my parents invited friends over, and my Dad organized a massive treasure hunt around our house and property. Clever clues and riddles were given to help us along the way as we navigated from one location to the next. At one point, we found an interesting key, a key that I had recognized as a dirtbike key! Ignoring that interesting-looking key for the time being, we continued on. At the end of the treasure hunt, we opened a door to our last clue, and there was the dirtbike that I had wanted for years! The look on my face is the one I want to give our children one day.
