Services Throughout the Adoption Process
In the United States, thousands of children are waiting to be adopted at any one time. Choosing to place a child to be adopted — whether you’re a birth mother or a birth father – is a loving act of kindness. Lifetime can help you through the process.
Lifetime Adoption is a licensed domestic adoption agency. We provide a full suite of services nationwide. Birth parents always receive our services for free. Furthermore, we specialize in assisting birth families through the open adoption process.
For more than 30 years, Lifetime’s adoption professionals have helped hopeful parents adopt a baby. We also help facilitate communications and connections between birth parents and adoptive families.
Lifetime provides nationwide help to prospective adoptive parents, pregnant mothers, and others wishing to place a child. We were the first adoption professional to launch an online platform to help families and birth parents come together. Today, our successful programs continue to help with adoptions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
About 92% of adoptions through Lifetime are families who adopt a newborn. About 8% are between the ages of 6 months and 7 years old. Lifetime does not handle adoptions involving teenagers or international adoptions, although we can work with military members serving overseas.
We can help with any and all adoption-related needs, such as home study guides and recommending adoption attorneys. In fact, we work closely with reliable attorneys in most states. That means our adoptive parents and birth parents have access to a rich network of adoption lawyers.

Exploring Domestic Adoption
Couples facing infertility may be exploring adoption for the first time. They often have questions about the cost and how the adoption process works. Lifetime provides personalized help and guidance for every couple. We talk through options, including preferences such as the age of the child, race, and more. We also help educate hopeful adoptive families. We teach about the benefits of maintaining that contact for everyone involved.
Our focus is on families who want to adopt a newborn domestically, although we do occasionally assist with adoptions of infants and young children.
Safe and Successful Open Adoption Agency Services
Lifetime is an adoption agency that has provided successful nationwide services since 1986.
We strive to offer only the best services possible. This remains true for both expectant mothers and parents hoping to adopt.
Open adoption is a beneficial situation for all involved. It means that adoptive parents and the adopted child interact with and remain in contact with birth parents. Birth mothers choose adoptive parents for their baby and have ongoing contact with the child.
We’ve written extensively about the benefits of open adoptions. One study found that 84% of adoptees who maintained ongoing contact with their birth parents reported high levels of satisfaction. The study also found that adoptees reported having positive feelings toward their birth parents and no lingering doubts about who their parents were.
Our History As A Domestic Adoption Agency
We love to tell Lifetime stories and to share the joy of our success with all types of adoptive families.
For birth mothers considering their options, Lifetime is a valuable resource.
Sometimes it’s an unplanned pregnancy. Other times, the birth mother and/or birth father make a loving decision.
That decision? To find caring parents who will provide for their beloved children.
That’s where Lifetime comes in. And like many adoption stories, ours begins with the decision of one woman.
Lifetime was born of founder Mardie Caldwell, C.O.A.P.’s personal story. After losing seven pregnancies, she adopted a newborn and built her family.
As an early advocate of open adoption, her heart for birth mothers is unsurpassed. She has both personally and professionally seen the benefits that open adoption can bring to children, adoptive parents, and birth parents.
When describing open adoption, she often says, “It is just more people to love our children.”
As a pioneer in this field, Caldwell is seen as an adoption expert. She has made hundreds of media appearances and has written seven books on the subject.
Lifetime clients benefit directly from her expertise. Our programs and services are cutting edge.
Clients also benefit from hearing directly from Caldwell in webinars and during other educational opportunities.
We look forward to helping you discover more about the benefits and opportunities of our domestic adoption agency.
Assistance
What can pregnant women or those thinking about placing an infant or toddler expect from Lifetime? Free round-the-clock help and support as they learn about the options they have in open adoption, for one thing. This includes the ability to choose the parents and maintain contact after the final paperwork has been signed.
Lifetime also offers counseling, assistance with maternity clothes, and referrals to college scholarship programs. But there’s much more throughout the adoption process — all at no cost to the birth mother.
