Adoption Services

In the United States, thousands of children await adoption at any one time. Choosing adoption — whether you’re a birth mother, a birth father, or prospective adoptive parents — is an act of loving kindness. Lifetime Adoption can help you through the process.

Lifetime Adoption is a domestic adoption agency. We provide a full suite of adoption services. Birth parents always receive our services for free. Furthermore, we specialize in assisting birth families through the open adoption process.

Lifetime Adoption Domestic adoption agency is here to help birth parents and adoptive familiesFor more than 30 years, Lifetime’s adoption professionals have helped people adopt a baby. They also help facilitate communications and connections between birth parents and adoptive families.

Lifetime Adoption works nationwide. We were the first agency of its kind to launch an online platform to help people adopt a child. Today our adoption programs result in about 15 adoptions each and every month.

About 92% of children adopted through Lifetime Adoption are newborns. About 8% are between the ages of 6 months and 7 years old. Lifetime does not handle adoptions involving teenagers or international adoptions, although we can work with military members serving overseas.

We can help with any and all adoption-related needs, such as home study guides and by recommending adoption attorneys. In fact, we work closely with reliable attorneys in most states. That means our adoptive parents and birth parents have access to a rich network of child adoption lawyers.

Exploring Domestic Adoption

Couples facing infertility may be exploring adoption for the first time. They often have questions about the cost of adoption and how the process works. Lifetime provides personalized help and guidance for every couple. We talk through options, including preferences such as the age of the child, race, and more. We also help educate hopeful adoptive families about open adoption. We teach about the benefits of maintaining that contact for everyone in the adoption triad.

Our focus is on domestic newborn adoption, although we do occasionally assist with adoptions of infants and young children.

Safe and Successful Open Adoption Services

With this emphasis on open adoption, Lifetime has provided successful nationwide adoption services since 1986.

We strive to offer only the best services possible. This remains true for both expectant mothers considering adoption for their babies and parents hoping to adopt.

Open adoption is a beneficial situation for all involved. It means that adoptive parents and the adopted child interact with and remain in contact with birth parents. Birth mothers choose adoptive parents for their baby and have ongoing contact with the child.

We’ve written extensively about the benefits of open adoptions. One study found that 84% of adoptees who maintained ongoing contact with their birth parents reported high levels of satisfaction. The study also found that adoptees reported having positive feelings toward their birth parents and no lingering doubts about who their parents were.

Our History As A Domestic Adoption Agency: A Pioneer In Open Adoption

We love to tell adoption stories and to share the joy of our success with all types of adoptive families.

For birth mothers considering adoption options, Lifetime is a valuable resource.

Sometimes it’s an unplanned pregnancy. Other times, the birth mother and/or birth father make a loving decision.

That decision? To find caring parents who will provide for their beloved children.

That’s where Lifetime comes in. And like many adoption stories, ours begins with the decision of one woman.

Lifetime was born of founder Mardie Caldwell, C.O.A.P.’s personal story. After losing seven pregnancies, she turned to adoption to build her family.

As an early advocate of open adoption, her heart for birth mothers is unsurpassed. She has both personally and professionally seen the benefits that open adoption can bring to children, adoptive parents, and birth parents.

When describing open adoption, she often says, “It is just more people to love our children.”

As a pioneer in open adoption, Caldwell is seen as an adoption expert. She has made hundreds of media appearances and has written seven books on the subject.

Lifetime clients benefit directly from her expertise. Our programs and services are cutting edge.

Clients also benefit from hearing directly from Caldwell in webinars and during other educational opportunities.

We look forward to helping you discover more about the benefits and opportunities of open adoption through a Lifetime adoption.

“I cannot tell you how much we appreciate your help. Everyone at Lifetime has been so accommodating and patient as we’ve navigated through the process.”
Megan

“I adopted my baby girl 31 years ago! Open adoption was a wonderful experience and the best way to do it, in my opinion, for all concerned. I was blessed by Mardie’s Referral and Support Group back then and I highly recommend Lifetime Adoption.”
Debbie

Lifetime Adoption Assistance

What can pregnant women or those thinking about adoption for an infant or toddler expect from Lifetime Adoption? Free round-the-clock help and support as they learn about the options they have in open adoption, for one thing. This includes the ability to choose the parents and maintain contact after the adoption.

Lifetime also offers counseling, assistance with maternity clothes, and referrals to college scholarship programs. But there’s much more throughout the process — all at no cost to the birth mother.

Additional Services

Here’s a quick breakdown of some of the other free services you can expect to receive from Lifetime Adoption. Please note that this list is not comprehensive. Our caring coordinators understand that women choose adoption for many reasons. We’re prepared to help you where and when you need it.

Private, confidential help is always available by phone or by text, 24 hours a day, at 1-800-923-6784.

“From the very beginning, we were treated like friends. Every conversation with Jennifer made us feel at ease and once we made the decision to apply with Lifetime, it felt like a “no brainer”. Everyone that we came in contact with was knowledgeable, patient and invested in our progress. We could email our coordinator, Robyn, at any time and she made sure to get back with us in a reasonable amount of time or direct us to the right person. Once we were matched, Tiffany was an excellent go-between and stayed encouraging while we navigated a whirlwind match (2 weeks!). However, the MOST important thing was how well they cared for our birth mother and communicated her needs to us. She was always covered. Overall, we could not be happier and would highly recommend Lifetime Adoption to other adopting families.”
