I recently sat down with Trung and Rachelle, a faith-filled Florida couple hoping to be first-time parents through adoption. When you’re considering adoption for your child, you have the opportunity to speak with and interview prospective adoptive parents before finalizing your decision. These conversations give you a chance to explore their core values, parenting philosophies, and life goals while asking the questions that matter most to you about your child’s potential future. Through these conversations, you can assess whether their family dynamic, lifestyle, and vision for raising a child align with the dreams and aspirations you hold for your baby’s upbringing.
I asked Trung and Rachelle some fun questions that you won’t find in their adoption profile, and I learned that they’re a fun-loving Christian couple who are together-focused and warmly grounded. They balance a love for peaceful moments with a spirit of adventure. What shines through most is how they center everything around togetherness and family, finding joy in both the everyday and the extraordinary as long as they’re experiencing it side by side.
1. What is your favorite holiday?
Our favorite holiday is definitely Christmas! Growing up, Christmas felt like a time when the busy world just stopped, and we were able to snuggle up in our homes and spend quality time with our families. We both grew up in New York, so we always prayed for a White Christmas!
Since getting married and living in Florida, Christmas looks a little different, but the magic of waking up on Christmas Day will always be the same. We love to wake up super early and cook a big breakfast, and with full tummies, open up all our presents with one another!
The rest of the day looks like classic Christmas movies on the couch with way too much hot chocolate! Christmas is 100% a holiday we look forward to spending with our future child and teaching them the importance of the gift of family.
2. What would a perfect day look like to you?
A perfect day for us would be spent together, doing the little things we love. We’d start with a slow morning, making breakfast (probably something simple like eggs and rice or pancakes) and watching some Survivor in the background.
We’d head out for a walk, explore a local dog park, or maybe visit our local farmer’s markets. In the evening, we’d cook dinner together, something homemade, and then relax at home with a movie or a board game.
What makes the day perfect isn’t what we’re doing – it’s who we’re doing it with. We imagine these same kinds of days filled with laughter, playtime, bedtime stories, and cuddles on the couch with a child we love deeply. Our perfect day is built on togetherness, love, and the joy of the everyday moments we’ll never take for granted.

3. What is a challenge you are proud to have overcome?
(Written by Rachelle): A challenge I’m proud to have overcome is graduating with a nursing degree. When I graduated from high school, my family was struggling financially and could not afford to send me to college.
After getting married and establishing a life with Trung, we decided we were ready for me to go back to school. I chose to get a degree in nursing because of my love of caring for others and this would give me the ability to do so each day.
If someone is struggling with something similar, I’d say that it is never too late to accomplish your dreams!
4. What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done? Will you do it again?
The most daring thing we’ve ever done was go zip lining in the mountains of O’ahu, Hawaii. Rachelle is incredibly scared of heights but somehow loves the thrill of roller coasters and zip lining.
It was a rainy day, and the pedestals we were on were shaky and wet, making it even more nerve-racking! We would absolutely do it again because it was such a fun experience where we got to live life on the edge.
We went through a zip line that was over a mile long. By the end of it, we were no longer scared, and they were teaching us trick shots on the zip lines.
5. What is your ideal vacation?
Our ideal vacation is a trip around Asia. We are both from Asian countries, Vietnam and the Philippines, and love the rich culture and traditions that Asia offers.
There are so many countries we would love to visit, such as Japan, Singapore, and Thailand. We would love to explore the vibrant street food scenes, take bullet trains in Japan, and explore the natural beauties of our home countries.
We believe travel is one of the most powerful ways to learn and grow, and we look forward to doing that together – hand in hand, with a little one by our side.
