Most private domestic infant adoptions today are very different from the closed adoptions many people remember from years ago.
Expectant mothers considering adoption are typically able to review hopeful adoptive families and choose the family they believe is right for their child.
Many families also develop some level of communication with the expectant mother before placement and continue a relationship after adoption through photos, updates, calls, messages, or visits.
Every adoption is different, but learning how modern adoption works can help you decide whether it may be the right path for your family.
