Hello! We are Aaron and Brooke, and we live in Northern California, a quick couple of hours away from Tahoe, Napa Valley and the Bay! Weekend getaways are uniquely easy for us, and we enjoy it! When the sun is beating down or there is snow in the mountains, we have plenty of options to enjoy. We love going to Giants games; we catch at least 5 or 6 each baseball season. There is always something going on in our world; we soak it all in, and we are grateful for every single day.

This adoption journey is no different. This experience is a true honor! We hope to learn and grow through this journey, as well as positively impact you, the birth mom, and your child. Gearing up for this exciting ride!

About Us

Our modern love story started like a lot of them do, online! Dating in your 30’s is hard, so we didn’t have much hope in finding love 7 years ago on our first date. But we got lucky. We are 110% confident we will grow old together.

We are intentional in doing things that will help to deepen our relationship as time moves on. We attend marriage classes at church, we surround ourselves with other happy couples, and we seek council from couples we look up to who have strong, faith-based relationships that have lasted decades. Even with a hectic life, we take time to go on dates and getaways. We love paint nights and hanging out at the golf course. We always have fun together, even if it’s just a lazy Saturday curled up on the couch watching a movie marathon. We have tried to have a baby together, but it just never worked out. Making this decision to adopt makes more sense to us anyway; it’s a dream to be walking this path.

About Brooke

Aaron says: Brooke is a loving wife and mother. She truly is the center and heart of our family, always making sure that all of the kids are well taken care of in every way. She’s uniquely in-tune with everything and everyone in our home and has a way of bringing comfort to any situation. She’s always willing to make the time to listen to the children and all of their crazy adventures, always there consistently shining a bright light over our family.

She loves spending time at home with our immediate and extended family. She is really crafty and has designed every aspect of our home. Over the last couple years, she has become quite the chef and loves cooking these amazing meals anytime she gets the chance to do so. In fact, she’s become so good at it that Brooke’s mother has now dubbed our house the “gathering place,” passing the baton to her, so to say.

Brooke is a runner; she has completed 3 marathons and countless half marathons. She enjoys spending time in the gym and keeping a healthy lifestyle. She is a hard worker and extremely dedicated. She completes anything she puts her mind to. She loves all people and is an advocate for strengthening and building up other women, a quality she teaches and instills in our daughters every day.

Brooke loves being a mom. She looks forward to doing the small stuff again with our next child, like coloring books and puzzles. Every stage of a child’s life is different, but she enjoys each of them and is really good at making sure her kids feel special every single day.

About Aaron

Brooke says: Aaron is an amazing husband and father. He’s constantly checking in on us; if we need anything he wants to be the one to help. He’s fun and a little crazy sometimes, and is a big movie buff and a Marval nerd. Even though his singing voice isn’t the best, that doesn’t stop him from singing loud to all his favorite country songs!

Aaron spends as much time in the garage as he can; he loves to work on cars and build things. Football season is his favorite season and waking up early to hit the driving range is a huge hobby. He enjoys brother nights with the church, and the kid in him will sit down and play a video game every once in a while. Aaron looks forward to running around with his next little one, riding bikes at the park or jumping in the pool on a hot day.

Aaron is an old soul; he always opens the car door for me and our girls and refuses to let us leave the house in the morning without a hug and kiss goodbye. He has a huge heart and a lot of love to give. We feel lucky to have him. He is supportive and kind, and has all the qualities needed to be a loving husband and father.

After 20 years in the Air Force, Aaron is a retired veteran with a 2nd career in automotive, an industry he loves. He works hard to provide for our family. He gives us a sense of comfort, knowing that we will always be taken care of.

Our Family

It’s huge! Brooke’s parents and brother’s family live a few minutes away. Her mom and dad have 11 grandchildren and can’t wait for number 12! Aaron’s parents live in the Midwest and Florida; we don’t see them as often, but we talk to them weekly. They stay updated on everything going on with our kids.

We have 4 children. Our son, Javin, is the oldest at 22. He recently married his long-time girlfriend, Aurora, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome her to our family. Emery is next, and she’s 19 and just finished her first year of college. Tyler, who is also 19, lives nearby and is working full-time as a cook. Our youngest is 12, and her name is Rylaen. She just finished the 7th grade, and she’s an amazing kid. She has been in gymnastics for 7 years; it’s a lot of fun to watch her grow in the sport.

Our grandparents on Brooke’s mom’s side live in Oregon, but we still see them at least 8 times a year. Grandma makes the 6-hour drive to visit at every holiday and any time a great grandkid has something to watch, like a school play or baseball opening day.

Our Home in Sunny California

Our home is our favorite place to be. We love home. We have lived in this area, 20 minutes outside of Sacramento, for 7 years. We have worked hard to make this space our own. It’s a little quirky and unique, but beautiful and bright with really tall ceilings and lots of windows. Walking through the front door always makes us happy! If we get an opportunity to talk to you, we need to tell you the story of how we bought our house; it’s a good story 🙂

We have 5 bedrooms with a cozy family room and plenty of space to run around. We have almost an acre in the city, so we are close to every kind of entertainment you can think of, with a park-like setting we get all to ourselves. We’ve turned our backyard into a resort, complete with a brand-new pool.

Our home is a slice of heaven, but we are also across the street from the river and walking distance to several parks with play structures and tennis courts. We are close to the zoo and downtown Sacramento where there is always a fun festival going on. Apple hill is a 45-minute drive, with corn mazes and pony rides in the fall. The food is so good, and the pie is amazing!

Our Promise

We know this decision might be one of the biggest you will ever have to make, and we are grateful to be considered. We want you to know that the love we have for your child will be unconditional and endless. We’ve been through all of the stages of a child’s life, each one unique and special in its own way. We promise to celebrate all of them, to never take a single moment for granted, and to include you as we enjoy all the moments ahead, both big and small. We can’t wait to meet with you, to hug you, to make you feel like a part of our family, because you will be. We will forever be united by the most precious gift anyone could ever experience.

We will support your child as they navigate this life. We will guide them toward hope, gratitude, love and generosity as they work through any challenge that comes along their path. They will have the opportunity to go to college as we are committed to giving them every possible chance to succeed in adulthood. We want them to thrive, knowing they are smart, beautiful and remarkably special.

We promise to work out the logistics of what our future will look like with you. We want you to have input, and we want you to feel included. You will never be a mystery in your baby’s life because the open, honest relationship we look forward to will be designed to make them feel like a part of a wonderful story, filled with so much goodness from all of the people who love him/her.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Our Family Traditions

-Brooke's favorite family traditions happen during the holiday season. A few days before Thanksgiving, her grandparents come into town. They, along with Brooke's mom, sister and everyone else, get together for a pie making day. They start early and end late. Grampy's humor is always the entertainment! Brooke's mom's house is full and warm; we snack and laugh and make delicious pies together.
-Christmas Eve--we all get a pair of pajamas to wear that night (Brooke's mom buys them for everyone). The kids are usually matching and so are the adults. Christmas Day we all stay in our pjs for the day--it makes for a very cozy Christmas :)
-Aaron's favorite Thanksgiving tradition is frying the turkey. We have a lot of people, so we need more than just one turkey. We have the regular oven to bake one and Aaron's is fried.
-We both love summer trips up to Oregon. Brooke's grandparents live in a small town there and we like to take the kids up to visit. We have a lot of family there. Grandma has a list of things she needs us to do around the house and we all pitch in to get them done. We play cards or dice games every night while we are there.

Our Faith

We are Christians. We believe there is one way to Heaven and that its through Jesus. We have a relationship with God and we try to make all of our decisions with His purpose in mind. That said, we are far from perfect, but we have a base though. We know that if we have a firm foundation of trust in God that no matter what we face in this life, we will overcome. This is the promise we are given through scripture, and this is the example we strive to uphold in our lives so that our kids see what faith provides. Not everything will go the way we plan, but with Jesus in our corner, we believe He will provide.

Our Musical Interest

We are all over the place... Aaron is a country music guy with a little 90's rock thrown in there when he's working out. Brooke only listens to one radio station in the car and it's a Christian station called K-love. But if she is streaming, she literally can't give you a preference. She and our girls are definitely Swifties! AND I LOVE anything that my girls are singing at the top of their lungs in the car with the windows down, when we are on our way home.

5 Things We Love on a Weekend

1-A SLOW Saturday morning, usually with pancakes involved
2-We live close to the river, so a nice walk is always good for the soul
3-Church on Sunday morning, and in the fall and winter football the rest of the day!
4-Hanging out by the pool and grilling hamburgers
5-Movie marathons on rainy weekends

In Closing

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know our family. The dream of having a baby in this specific way has tugged at Brooke since she was a little girl. We are overwhelmingly certain that God placed this desire in her, and fulfilling it is part of a bigger picture. We have so much room in our hearts and love to give to another child. This is a part of the story He wrote for our lives, and we are excited to be living it now.
We want you to know that when we meet you, we promise to see you too. You are wonderfully made and just as precious and loved as your child. We believe open adoption is an amazing way to grow our family, not just with a child but with you too. We hope to be a light in your life, if you choose, to remind you how special you are. We will stay present in your life and update you as your child grows, if you want that. Our relationship with you matters and we would be honored to be a part of your future.
