We are grateful that you are taking the time to learn about us. We look forward to building a relationship with you where we can get to know each other.

We are both passionately curious and love to spend time together discovering new ideas, playing games, listening to music, reading, crafting, doing home repair (maybe we don’t exactly enjoy that, but we’re getting good at it :)), rooting for our favorite teams (Go Carolina Hurricanes and New York Mets), and experiencing new kinds of food. We are thrilled to become first-time parents and can’t wait to share our love, home, and lives with a child.

We are looking forward to getting to know you and learning about your hopes and dreams for your child.

About Us

We met during an interview for a graduate school program. Adam thought that Sarah liked him, Sarah thought Adam was ridiculous. It didn’t take long for that to completely change into a loving lifelong bond. We enjoy spending time together and especially like watching sports, going to museums, playing games, hiking, going to the zoo (or anywhere else we can encounter animals), playing with our 3 dogs, and curling up to watch a movie together. We have been blessed to share our home with beautiful children as foster parents and are so excited to become adoptive parents. We know adding to our family through open adoption is what we are called to do. We are thrilled to adopt and look forward to art projects, cooking sessions, picnics, family visits, and cherishing every moment together as a family.

My Husband, Adam

Adam is a Clinical Psychologist and the most generous person I know. He invests his time, money, energy, and effort in the people around him. He helps everyone around him grow in strength, confidence, and peace. Even through the incredible storms of life, Adam is thoughtful, gentle, and decisive, especially when it benefits the people he loves. He is brilliant, hardworking, fun to be around, and has a passion for learning that leads him to seek out information on every topic that he becomes interested in learning about. He loves reading, playing golf, listening to and playing music, and building with Legos. He has the unique ability to discover natural talents very quickly. He can pick up any instrument and teach himself to play it. He searches “how to” videos and renovates our bathrooms, decks, and any other home project that needs attention.

I know he will be a patient and attentive father whose natural curiosity and patience in teaching will give our child a safe, supportive, stimulating environment to explore their interests and to grow to maturity as a person who values other people and treats others with respect and kindness.

My Wife, Sarah

Sarah is a passionate person, and that passion shows in whatever she is doing. Some of her passions are cooking, hockey, playing with our dogs, reading classic novels, and gardening. Sarah is beautiful, extremely smart, generous, and loves sports, as well as horses. For work, she manages the quality of programs at a mental health facility to ensure they are providing the best care possible for their clients. She is an especially hard worker for the benefit of others, which I deeply admire. Sarah is incredibly thoughtful and loves to give unique gifts to others, especially her homemade ones which are the kinds that are treasured forever. She is excited to teach our child how to cook and be a strong, educated person.

Our Home in North Carolina

We share our 5-bedroom home with our three dogs (Misha, Twain, and Olivia). All three are sweet, silly, and love people of all ages.

When we have people visit, we enjoy sitting in the shade of the trees on our property while swinging and sipping tea on our large screened-in porch. Our neighborhood is quiet, and we have many parks in the area to choose from for outdoor activities. It is also a great place to walk, which we do almost daily with our dogs. We have a nursery/bedroom ready, decorated with a woodland creature theme, and we have a playroom with toys ready to be enjoyed.

North Carolina is such a beautiful place to live, complete with easy access to both the beach and the mountains. We love both and feel very blessed to be able to enjoy trips to either fairly easily from our home which is directly in between the two.

Our Family

We have a BIG, loud, loving family! Adam has 3 siblings who live throughout the US and Canada. Sarah has one sibling who has 14 kids! Our families are excited about this adoption journey and are looking forward to welcoming you and your child into our family. With Adam’s family, we love to go shopping at thrift stores together. We also love to play games of ALL kinds. When we visit with Sarah’s family it’s all about sitting together talking, joking, and making delicious homemade food together.

We also feel incredibly blessed to have friends who are more like family than friends with whom we celebrate, grow, stretch, pray, learn, cry, and laugh with.

Our Promise

We promise that we will love your child deeply and provide them with a rich, stimulating environment to learn, develop their interests, and explore their curiosity. We will read lots of books together, teach them how to cook, take them to ride horses, invest in their education, and help them learn the skills they will need to THRIVE. We will teach your child about God and how to love and serve others.

We will make sure your child knows the love you have for them and we look forward to building a relationship with you in whatever way is most comfortable for you. We will invest ourselves fully in your child’s development and promise to teach them, explore with them, laugh with them, cry with them, and encourage them. We will be grateful for each moment spent together and promise to be the best parents we can be!
