Watch Our Video

Hello! We are Alex and Jenny, and we have wanted to grow our family for a long time. We value education and believe in treating others as you want to be treated. We take the time to answer our son’s questions and encourage him to explore the world around him. We enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors hiking with our son and our dog.

About Us

We have been married for eleven years and together for 15. During that time, we have experienced six pregnancy losses. Even in our toughest moments, our marriage has remained strong. We are kind and silly with each other. We are a good team because we communicate and plan our future together. We enjoy trying new recipes and cooking together. We also love to spend time outdoors doing activities such as playing in the park, watching soccer games, and tent camping.

We are hoping to adopt again because we are both close to our siblings and we want that same sort of relationship for our son, Theo. We do not believe that our family is complete yet.

We have an amazing support system of family and friends, we are hard workers, and we have good relationships with each other and our son. We really enjoy being parents!

About Jenny

Alex says: Jenny is a really good and caring person. She is able to apply these qualities as a teacher, which is something that she loves to do. She cares deeply for all of her students. She is also a very fun person. Jenny is my best friend. Her perfect day would be going to the bookstore, cooking together, and then eating ice cream!

Some of Jenny’s hobbies include reading and writing stories, taking pictures, hiking, and gardening. She is the planner when we take road trips.

Jenny looks forward to snuggling with our next child. She wore Theo in a wrap when he was a baby and plans to do the same with our new little one, so that they can dance, sing, go for walks, and bake in the kitchen together.

About Alex

Jenny says: The thing I love most about Alex is that he treats me as a partner. We split the housework and cooking duties. We work together to care for Theo (our son), our dog, and vegetable garden. We make big decisions by walking together and talking it out. Alex spends his free time trying new recipes, teasing me and Theo, and watching sports. Alex is kind and respectful. He is an amazing father. Alex’s perfect day would be sleeping in, going for a family walk, and eating good food!

Alex’s hobbies include watching sports, hiking, trying new recipes, and building furniture for our home. He built all of the benches and the table that we have on our back deck, as well as some bookshelves.

Alex looks forward to teaching a second kiddo about sports, taking them camping, and coaching them through life.

Our Family

Our son, Theo, was adopted at birth. Theo enjoys doing puzzles and building with Duplos. We read books and a Bible story with him before bed each night. He likes to help in the kitchen and is in charge of feeding our dog. He will be an excellent big brother because he is so helpful.

Extended Family: Alex’s family is super excited for us to bring another grandchild into their lives. His family includes his parents, younger brother, and our godson. They all live about an hour and a half away and we try to get together every couple months. We spend all of the holidays and birthdays together.

Jenny’s family will also be super excited for us to bring another child into their life. Her parents currently have five grandchildren. Jenny’s three younger siblings and their children are located in Missouri, Arkansas, and Kansas. One tradition that Jenny’s family has is Friday night karaoke. She has a big, loud family who are singers and storytellers. When we visit, we always eat too much and play games.

Our Home in Missouri

We have a ranch style home that has three bedrooms. In our home we have a big kitchen, a large, fenced yard, and a deck where we like to grill. We have a large veggie garden, and we have planted fruit trees and berry bushes around the yard. Our house is full of books and random musical instruments, and the walls are covered in photographs of our families and our adventures. This is the home we plan to raise our family in. We love hosting family events at our house because we like to gather everyone together and feed them.

We live in a large city in Missouri, and we love it here! We are within a few hours of most of our family members and there is so much to do. We live near the river and there are a lot of walking and biking trails near our house. We have a zoo membership and visit several times a year. We also live about ten minutes away from our church. Our neighborhood is safe enough to walk in, and we love visiting the library and parks.

Our Promise

If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to love your child unconditionally, keep them safe, and encourage them in all that they do. We would love to include you in your child’s life through email/text updates and occasional visits, if you desire. Thanks for taking the time to consider us!

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Family Traditions

Alex's big family tradition is they always dress up as clowns for the county fair. This is a tradition Alex’s great grandfather started in the 1940’s. Now that Theo is three, he joined his cousin, uncle, dad, and grandpa this past summer. Theo took his job passing out candy along the parade route very seriously.

Jenny's grandmother taught her how to host tea parties. She also gifted us with so many beautiful dishes and two teapots. So far, we have hosted a Harry Potter themed tea party and a birthday tea for one of our friends. Jenny loves to bake desserts and scones, so hosting tea parties has become an excuse to do just that, and see our friends!

Camping

We really enjoy traveling. We usually camp and hike on our trips, especially if there are waterfalls in the area! So far, Theo has been to 6 national parks and we plan to visit more!

We go camping with family and friends every year in Kansas to celebrate Alex's birthday in September. The state park has a lake to play in and offers tent camping and cabins so that everyone is comfortable. We take our dog, Boops, with us because he enjoys being outside as much as we do.

Our Dog

Boops is our rescue dog. We helped the local shelters by fostering seven dogs over the span of a year. Boops was one of our placements. He is sweet and gentle with kids. He loves anyone who will pet him, and he plays with our friends' and family's dogs when they visit.

Adoption in our Family

We have an open adoption with Theo's mother. Jenny was invited by his birth mama to be in the hospital room when he was born, and we hosted her and one of her sons for dinner a couple times too. Jenny texts pictures, silly stories, and questions to his birth mama a few times a week and makes sure to mail her a copy of our yearly family photo book.

Jenny's mom placed a child for adoption when she was a teenager and has recently reconnected with her. They have met for coffee a few times to exchange family medical history and get to know each other. They both wish that open adoption had been a more common option years ago.

Our sister-in-law was adopted at birth. She has promised to talk to Theo about the big feelings that go along with being adopted whenever he needs that support from someone who understands.

In Closing

We hope we have given you an idea of the kind of life we can offer your child. We would love to include you in your child’s life in an ongoing relationship, if you choose, whether that means photo updates, scheduled visits, or anything in between. Thank you for taking the time to read through our profile.
