Hi! We are Ben and Annamarie, and we’re so thankful for this chance to tell you about us and the life we’d love to share as adoptive parents. We’re excited to be on this journey to adopt our first child! Our faith is an important part of who we are and what we value as we think about raising a child. As parents we will model the values of honesty, loyalty, caring for and respecting others, and hard work. It would mean a lot to us to learn more about you and your child, and to talk about what an open adoption could look like between us all.
Our Story
We met through mutual friends when Annamarie came over to see her friend’s new apartment. Ben answered the door and we hit it off right away! Early in our marriage, we learned that infertility would make it hard to grow our family biologically. We’ve dreamed of raising children together and believe that our story has been leading us to adoption from the start. We love picturing the life we’ll get to share with the child we adopt!
We are best friends who do a lot together. Some of our favorite things to do as a couple are:
• Evening walks
• Going to Blue Jackets games
• Traveling to the beach or national parks
• Hiking (especially when we travel!)
• Playing pickleball
• Attending live concerts
• Going out to eat with our friends and their kids
• Dinner at our parents’ houses
This is Annamarie
As told by Ben: My wife is hardworking, loving, and dedicated. She’s always smiling and keeps a positive attitude through anything! Annamarie has a huge heart for children, and she’s patient and full of grace too. All of this, and more, are why I married her, and why I know that she will be an amazing mother.

As told by Annamarie: My husband is loyal to those he cares about. I know he always has my best interests in mind and that I’m a priority to him. Ben also communicates well, which makes it fun and easy to go through life as partners. I know he will be a great dad because I’ve seen him with our friends’ kids and the younger cousins in his family. He is always engaged and shows interest in what matters to the kids in our life. I’m excited to raise a family with him!

Our Home in Ohio
We love living close to our families! Our cozy home has 3 bedrooms, a covered front porch perfect for relaxing or chatting with neighbors, and a fenced-in yard with a deck. There are a lot of families with children in our neighborhood, so we know our future child will have kids to grow up with right on our street. One of our favorite things about living here are going to the local restaurants and to our county fair. It’s a great place to raise a family!
Our Families
We come from supportive, kind families who are excited to welcome the child we’re chosen to adopt. Both of us have parents who have been married a long time and live within 30 minutes of us. We both come from big families; Annamarie has twin brothers and Ben has two brothers and one sister. Annamarie even has cousins who were adopted!
Our Commitment to You

We promise you that your child will grow up knowing, from the start, how their story began out of love and hope. We will raise our child to have a strong faith they can lean on as the center of our family. We promise they will be loved and supported by us and our families. We will provide a safe, caring, nurturing home life, as well as opportunity to have good education and to get the training or help needed to pursue their personal goals.

More About Our Family
What Matters to Us
We are Catholics who hold our faith close in every aspect of our life. We value our faith in God and believe it has led us to where we are now. Through everything we’ve experienced, we’ve seen how God has a reason and a plan, and that He will always help us through. This foundation of faith guides us in our relationships and decisions.
Plans for Childcare
When we have to go back to work after parental leave, we’ll have grandparents on both sides to help us with childcare. Plus, since Annamarie is a teacher, she’ll have off summers and holiday breaks throughout the school year. She’s excited about having these extended times away from work to spend with our child. When they are ready for preschool, there’s a great Montessori School we will use. Once our child is in grade school it will be nice to be on the same schedule as Annamarie, and also attending the school where she teaches.
Traditions
• Going out on the weekends for coffee or breakfast together
• Date nights
• Vacations with our families
• Having friends or family over to play yard games, board games, or video games (we love game night!)
• Sharing holidays with both sides, such as brunch with Annamarie’s family, and then afternoons and dinner with Ben’s relatives
Fun Facts
We're both into working out and staying fit! Ben won a fitness challenge at his gym and has been training to compete in a Strongman Competition. Annamarie is a fitness coach at her gym.
