Watch Our Video
Hi from North Carolina! We are Ben and Kelly and we are so excited to grow our family through adoption for a second time. We love Jesus and cannot wait to bring another child into our Christ-centered home. We look forward to attending church each Sunday and worshipping as a family. We love to spend time with family, friends, and in the outdoors. We are excited about getting to know you and honoring your wishes. We are open to letters, pictures, and consistent communication each year.
Kelly is a stay-at-home mom with our son, Asher, and looks forward to including another child in weekly Story Time at the local library, while Ben works incredibly hard to provide for our family in a job that he loves. We would love to get to know you and answer any questions you may have for us.
A Bit About Us
We have been together for six years and welcomed our first child through adoption two and a half years ago. We met through Ben’s sister, who after meeting Kelly knew that she had to meet her brother, Ben. The rest is history! We dated and began our life together shortly after – the best years!
After experiencing infertility, we were called to adoption. We adopted our son in the summer of 2022 – the best thing that has happened to both of us. Our son means the world to us and has brought us even closer together, showing us the better parts of one another as we explore who we are as parents. Adoption brought us the greatest joy of our lives in 2022, and we cannot wait to see how it blesses our family once again.
We absolutely love to be outdoors and strive to spend as much time as we can in the fresh air! Ben is an avid outdoorsman who spends his weekends hunting, fishing, chopping wood, and working on the house. Kelly loves to read and has started baking sourdough and enjoys filling our house with the scent of fresh bread. We are so blessed to be surrounded by supportive family and friends, and cannot wait to bring another little one into this community. We cannot wait to grow our family once again through adoption and watch Asher become the most loving big brother.
My Husband, Ben
Kelly says: Ben is an incredibly loyal, kind, and dedicated husband and father. I was drawn to him, as I think most people are, when I saw his genuine smile – he has a way of immediately disarming those around him and making others feel welcome. Ben is absolutely the fun one in our relationship and is constantly joking with family and friends and is never taking himself too seriously. Watching Ben become a dad to our son has been one of the best parts of my life. Asher wants to be just like his dad, always asking to be his hunting and fishing buddy. The minute Ben gets home from work Asher wants to be out in the yard with him playing in the dirt or chopping wood. Ben makes Asher feel safe and loved, and gets the biggest laughs in the world out of Asher.
Ben will not brag on himself, but it is so fun to share that he is a professional TimberSports athlete. He is top ten in the country and works so incredibly hard to maintain that. He is a humble competitor and avid outdoorsman. He has brought Asher into every part of his hobbies, and it is the most fun to watch.
I cannot wait to watch Ben become a dad again! Praise God for the ways he loves and leads our family.
My Wife, Kelly
Our Home in North Carolina
We live in a sweet ranch-style home in a small town in North Carolina, right outside of a larger city. It’s a cute 3-bedroom home nestled in the sweetest neighborhood full of friends, close to family, located right alongside a beautiful greenway, and within walking distance to our favorite downtown library and farmers’ market. We spend many weekends walking into town to grab local jam at the market, grabbing a coffee, and stopping at the playground on the way home with Asher. Our home is cozy and our favorite place to be, and we love hosting family and friends for dinners, playdates, bonfires, and more. Right off of our living room is a sunroom dedicated to play and filled with books, toys, a play kitchen, and where Asher spends so much of his time zooming cars and trucks around on the floor. We have a large backyard with a swing, water table, sand pit, and so much room for exploring and space to truly just be a kid.
The best bonus of all is that we live right down the greenway from cousins. We meet on the greenway for balance bike rides and see them at least twice a week. What a gift to live close to family and watch cousins become friends.
Our Son, Asher
Asher is a compassionate and goofy two-year-old who loves everyone around him. He has an incredibly sweet soul and feels everything with his big, beautiful heart. We adopted Asher in the summer of 2022 and continue to have an amazing open adoption with his birth parents. We go to weekly Story Time at the local library, take trips to the zoo, ride four wheelers on Ben’s family property, and spend time at the pool and creek in the summers. Asher is currently loving to play outside in his new sandbox, ride his balance bike around the neighborhood, and is a BIG monster truck fan. Asher’s loving and adventurous spirit will make him the best big brother and he is so eager to add another baby to all of our adventures!

More About Our Family
Our Faith
Our faith is the center of our lives and what we have built our family around. Ben and Kelly both grew up in Christian homes, attending youth group and various church activities. We are now attending a church as a family that we absolutely love, where God is the center of all that is preached, and where we feel like we truly fit in as a family. Kelly volunteers with the highschoolers, Asher and Kelly attend a Mom-and-Me group each week with friends, and we all attend church each Sunday and sit as a family. Asher absolutely loves instruments and music, so worshipping together is one of our favorite things we do together!
Our Plans for Education
We deeply value education and lifelong learning, and are excited to support both our son and our next child on their educational journeys! We believe in the power of play, exploration, travel, and the outdoors as essential tools for learning. Whether through public education or homeschooling, our priority is to assess our children's needs and make the best choices for their future. With a degree in Special Education and six years of teaching experience, Kelly is eager to incorporate learning and fun into our everyday lives, turning ordinary moments into meaningful educational experiences.
Our Extended Family & Traditions
We are so incredibly blessed to live close to both of our families and to get to see them often. We have family right down the road, and then feel so thankful that some of Ben's family is a little over an hour away. We spend holidays with our families!
Some traditions we share with family:
-Cutting down a Christmas tree in the mountains with Ben's family
-Uncle Bob's deep fried turkey on Thanksgiving
-Easter brunch (now hosted in our home!)
-Visit from Santa Claus on Christmas Eve night for the cousins
-Candle light church service on Christmas Eve
-Making salt dough Christmas ornaments for our friends and family
Our Dogs
We have two very sweet Labrador Retrievers - one black and one yellow. Betty Lou and Delta have both been trained and are so loving with Asher and other children. Betty Lou used to be a dock dog and competed in events like the long jump and running across logs floating in the water. Delta is our puppy with a lot of fun energy. You can typically find her following Asher around the house and chewing on her bones. Ben is currently training Delta to be a duck hunting dog. We love taking them on walks and throwing the tennis ball in the backyard as a family!
In Closing
Thank you again for taking time to get to know our family! Please reach out if you have any questions. We promise to provide a loving and stable home for your child and center their lives around Christ. Above all, we pray that the Lord gives you total clarity in choosing what is best for your baby. We hope to hear from you!
