Hello from the Lone Star State! We’re Kristen, Ben, and our sweet son, Henry, who joined our family through adoption five years ago. We’re excited to walk through this journey again and grow our family. Life in our home is full of fun and activity—building forts and Lego towers, hiking, playing at the park, and spending time with friends and family. We also treasure our open relationship with Henry’s birth mom, and we’d be honored to build whatever level of connection feels right for you. More than anything, we look forward to meeting you and getting to know your hopes for your child.

About Us

We met 11 years ago through work and quickly knew we had found something special. On our very first date, Ben bravely brought up the topic of kids, and we both agreed early on that adoption would one day be part of our story. Not long after, we were married and began building a life full of laughter, adventures, and love.

Together, we enjoy being silly, taking day hikes, cooking side by side in the kitchen, and exploring backroads on our motorcycle in search of the perfect picnic spot. Our son, Henry, joined our family through adoption as an infant five years ago, and he has been our greatest joy and favorite goober ever since! As a family, we look forward to welcoming more children into our adventures, snuggles, and family time. We can’t wait to watch Henry become a big brother and share all the fun he loves with his new sibling(s).

About Kristen

Ben says: Kristen is the heart of our home. She’s creative, flexible, and always up for an adventure — whether that’s building blanket forts, painting messy masterpieces, or heading out for a hike. She has loved being able to step away from full-time work to stay home with Henry and spends her days volunteering at his school and helping out in our church’s kids’ department.

Kristen’s favorite way to connect with Henry is through arts and crafts. She loves pulling out paint, glue, and glitter to see what they can dream up together. Hiking is another passion of hers — she’s been taking Henry on trails since he was just two months old. She can’t wait to share both her love of creativity and the outdoors with other little ones.

About Ben

Kristen says: Ben is steady and level-headed, but also the biggest jokester in our house. He works hard, loves Jesus deeply, and has a gift for encouraging the people around him. As a freelance lighting programmer and designer, he owns his own company and enjoys the freedom it gives him to balance work and family life.

When he’s not working, you’ll usually find Ben in the backyard turning it into our family’s little oasis. He loves building things and has so much fun teaching Henry how to use tools and “create” right alongside him. He’s also the best video game buddy — patient enough to teach Henry and competitive enough to keep it fun.

Ben can’t wait to share his love for building, playing, and making memories with another child. His steady spirit and playful heart make him the kind of dad who balances hard work with joy, and he’ll be just as amazing as a dad of two (or more!).

Our Son and Family

Our family of three is full of laughter, adventure, and love. Henry keeps life exciting with his curiosity, creativity, and endless energy. He loves parks, riding his bike, dinosaurs, and outer space — he’s already looking forward to showing a new sibling all his favorite things!

We have a close-knit extended family that’s like a built-in village. Kristen’s parents and sister’s family live nearby, so the kids see cousins more like siblings. Weekends often mean baking cookies, exploring Papa’s woodworking shop, or playing outside, while Ben’s parents in Florida are always ready for visits and family fun.

Our favorite traditions include family dinners, holiday celebrations, and camping trips at state parks — sitting around campfires, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying nature together. Everyone was so excited for Henry’s adoption, and they’re just as thrilled to welcome another child into our family.

Our Home in Texas

We live in a sunny, one-story, five-bedroom home in a suburb of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. It’s cozy, full of natural light, and has a dedicated playroom for the kids. We also have a nursery ready and can’t wait to decorate it for another little one!

Our backyard is one of our favorite spots — it has a two-story play set, a sand pit, a patio perfect for relaxing, and lots of open space for running barefoot and carefree. Kristen loves gardening, while Ben has made it lush and inviting for outdoor fun and family adventures.

Our neighborhood is full of family-friendly perks, including two pools, two playgrounds, and walking trails. We’re also just minutes from museums, hiking spots, lakes, libraries, and water parks — so there’s always somewhere to explore or play. We can’t wait to share all these spaces with a new little one and create countless adventures, memories, and cozy moments together at home.

Our Promise

We promise your child will be loved, cherished, and celebrated every day. They’ll grow up in a stable, joyful home filled with laughter, learning, adventures, festive holidays, and lots of family fun. Adoption will always be honored, and they will know how much we love and appreciate you. We’re happy to share scheduled visits, letters, or pictures at a level that feels right for you.

As parents, we can’t wait to read bedtime stories, bake cookies, have tickle fights, explore the outdoors, and make countless memories together. We’ll teach them to wonder at the world, love creation, and grow up knowing God’s love. Your child will always know they are deeply loved by many.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

When I was little, I wanted to be…

Ben: A firefighter! He didn’t end up running into blazing buildings, but he had a blast pretending and saving the day in his backyard.

Kristen: A nurse, just like her mom. She didn’t become one, but she loved practicing on her stuffed animals and taking care of anyone who needed a “check-up.”

Top 3 Thoughts on Parenthood

1. Presence & Wonder: Parenthood has taught us that the small, everyday moments—blanket forts, bedtime giggles, scooter rides—are where the real magic lives.

2. Faith in Action: Parenthood is one of the clearest ways we live out our faith: showing grace, choosing patience, and loving consistently, even on the messy days.

3. Joy & Adventure: Being parents helps us slow down, laugh more, explore more, and see the world with fresh eyes. Kids remind us not to take life too seriously.

Things We Love on a Weekend

Exploring the outdoors — bike rides, walking trails, or just soaking up sunshine as a family

Quality time with loved ones — hanging out with friends or extended family who adore Henry and are always eager to spend time together

Family adventures — children’s museums, water parks, or whatever fun thing Henry is excited about that day

Slow, cozy mornings — pancakes, pajamas, coffee, and cuddles before the day gets rolling

Exploring new parks and playgrounds — conducting “very official” evaluations on slide speed, swing height potential, floor is lava potential, and which playground has the best “parent comfort score” (shade + benches). Henry is the lead researcher, of course.

Adoption in Our Family

Adoption has been one of the greatest gifts in our family. Being there for Henry’s birth was an experience we’ll cherish forever, and we’re deeply grateful for the unique and meaningful relationship we have with his birth mother. From the very beginning, our families and friends embraced Henry without a moment’s hesitation — he’s simply one of us, and no one can imagine our circle without him. As we look toward growing our family again, we want our future child’s birth family to feel genuinely comfortable with the level of openness that works best for them. For some, that may look like updates, phone calls, or occasional visits — something we’ve loved getting to do with Henry’s birth family. For others, a more private, quiet space may feel right, and we will always honor that. Most of all, we hope to create a home filled with belonging, joy, faith, and adventure, where our children know their story, feel deeply loved, and grow up confident in who they are.

In Closing

Thanks for spending a little time getting to know us. Adoption is already part of our story through our son Henry, and we’re excited to grow our family again in this way. We promise to give your child a loving, fun, and stable home filled with outdoor adventures, game nights, family outings and plenty of laughter. They’ll always know their story, where they came from, and how deeply they are loved. We’re open to whatever level of contact feels right for you, and you’ll always hold a special place in our family.

With love,
Kristen, Ben & Henry
