Hi! We are Ben and Krystal and we are so glad you are here. Since early on in our marriage, we always knew adoption would be a big part of our lives and we are excited to be on this journey to welcoming another child into our family. We value our faith, family, and friends above everything else. Our family is active in church and we are fortunate to be surrounded by friends that are able to get together for playdates at local parks, zoos, and play areas. We would love the chance to get to know you! We look forward to sharing our lives with you and your child.

About Us

We met as teenagers through a summer Bible Camp that we attended and later served as camp counselors together. We got married in 2016 and have a marriage rooted in faith and love. While we have been blessed with 2 amazing sons, we’ve always felt God leading us to adoption. He has shown us that now is the time!

Krystal is a Neonatal ICU nurse and Ben is a firefighter/paramedic. We enjoy helping our communities and being there for others when they need it the most. We attend church regularly, and once a month Krystal volunteers in the kid’s ministry and Ben in the critical response group.

Things we love to do together:

  • Hiking, or anything outdoors
  • Attending church
  • Traveling
  • Watching movies
  • Playing board games or card games

About Ben

According to Krystal: Ben is a hardworking, dedicated husband and father who brings energy and joy to everything he does. He works as a firefighter/paramedic and truly enjoys what he does. Ben is always willing to help out a friend or family member in need whether it’s manual labor, giving advice, or just being there for them in a time of need. Ben is one of the most loyal people I know. He values every moment with our children and is very patient with them. He will continue to encourage our children to always follow their dreams and passions. He is also a fantastic cook!

Ben enjoys:

  • Hiking, camping, hunting, all things nature and outdoors
  • Building Legos with the kids
  • Watching movies
  • Cooking
  • Traveling

About Krystal

According to Ben: Krystal is a thoughtful, caring, and loving wife, as well as a compassionate mother full of tenderness and grace for her children. Not only has she taken on the job of a wife and mother building and maintaining a wonderful home, but she also works part-time as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse where her compassion and caring nature helps infants and families in some of the most difficult times of their lives. Our sons adore her! They look to her when they need comfort and direction. She is smart and has achieved many academic achievements throughout her educational career. She will support our children in whatever avenue of life they choose and will support their choices in education and interests. Most importantly she encourages the kids to pursue their sense of adventure and to not fear the unknown.

Krystal enjoys:

  • Making and listening to music
  • Baking
  • Reading (to herself and to the kids)
  • Traveling
  • Gardening

Our Family

God has graciously given us two sons, Callahan (3.5) and Rowan (2), and their personalities couldn’t be more opposite. Callahan is very smart and kind-hearted. He loves to read books, play with Legos (and clean them up afterwards), and anything construction vehicle related. Rowan marches to the beat of his own drum and is very outgoing. He loves to play with others, anything dinosaur related, and always wants to have a stuffed animal by his side. Rowan makes Callahan brave and Callahan makes sure Rowan is safe. They will both make great big brothers! While our extended families live a few hours away, they remain very active in our children’s lives and everyone loves our almost daily Facetime calls and frequent visits. They are very supportive of our decision to adopt and they are so excited to welcome another grandchild into the family!

As a family we love:

  • Spending time outdoors
  • Play dates with our friends and their kids
  • Visiting zoos, aquariums, and the many parks around our area
  • Making crafts for cousins, grandparents, and the refrigerator
  • Trips to the beaches in Alabama or Florida about every year

Our Home in Texas

We live in a suburban community right outside of a large city. Our neighborhood is friendly, safe, and we have at least 1 block party every year in the summer. We have a 3-bedroom home, and our boys are looking forward to bunking together in order to have a dedicated nursery for a baby. We love getting in the holiday spirit and enjoy decorating every part of our home for Christmas. We have a great yard where our boys love to play, and Ben is currently building an amazing playset with swings for the kids. We are close to our church, within a 15-minute drive.

We live close to an amazing zoo, children’s museums, fantastic parks, and multiple indoor play areas. Our surrounding communities put on fireworks for various holidays as well as great events, such as a community-wide 4th of July event.

Pets: We have an outside dog, Nico, who is very friendly and gentle with our kids. We also have an indoor/outdoor cat, Luna, who loves to pet herself with our children’s feet while they play.

From Our Hearts

Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. Your baby will be loved immensely and will be able to grow up experiencing life with 2 brothers who would thoroughly enjoy loving and playing with another sibling. We promise your child will always know just how loved they are.

We promise to:

  • Share God’s love with them every day
  • Always protect them and make them feel safe
  • Tell your child how important you are to us, and they will always know the truth about their adoption story
  • Explore, learn, and take every opportunity to involve your child in their culture
  • Exposing them to a variety of activities and foster their interests and curiosity
  • Provide every opportunity for education (college, trade school, or other opportunities) – We’ve already starting saving for their education.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Plans for Education

We want our children to dream big and have the ability to pursue any career they would love! Our initial plan is to begin their education with homeschooling and becoming a part of a co-op. We believe that hands on learning or learning outside of the classroom is very beneficial. However, we know that every child has different learning needs and not every child will thrive in the same environment. We are willing to continue homeschooling or place our children in private or public school, depending on how they thrive best, even if that entails homeschooling a child and sending another child to traditional schooling. We have already began saving for a post high school education fund. We want to support whatever career path they want to follow, whether that be college, trade school, or any other form of education.

Fun Facts

• Ben grew up playing recreational soccer and coached the 8–10-year-olds when he was in high school
• Krystal plays the piano and was classically trained starting at about 9 years old
• We took a 3-week trip to New Zealand in the beginning of 2020
• Ben has rappelled from the Cowboys' Stadium (over 300 feet)
• Krystal lived in Costa Rica for a few months in 2015 where she also studied Spanish

3 Things on Our Bucket List

• Explore every national park in the USA (there are 63!)
• Visit Ireland
• Become certified to scuba dive

We love to travel whenever possible and we enjoy the adventures and memories we make! We are looking forward to showing our children our sense of adventure and hope they share the same love for travel as we do.

Our Future Forever Home

Ben grew up on about 5 acres of land where he and his brothers were able to spend a lot of time outdoors and do a lot of exploring. We want our children to grow up in the same way. Our future plans are to purchase a piece of property in the same area we are in now and build our dream home with plenty of room for everyone, a playroom, and a dedicated learning area. We want our children to have plenty of space to explore the outdoors and instill the love of animals and the responsibility of taking care of them. We hope to have animals such as ducks, chickens, goats, and maybe even cows, along with gardens for fruits and vegetables.

In Closing

Even though we have not met yet, you have been consistently in our thoughts and prayers. We are looking forward to getting to know you and welcome an open adoption through letters, pictures, and occasional visits.
