Hello! This little family of three is eager and excited to become a family of four. As you’re making this huge decision for you and your baby, we’re honored you clicked through to our profile! We’re praying for you, and we’re trusting that God is going to lead you to exactly the right family for your baby and is going to lead us to exactly the right birth mama who’s looking for us. We feel a clarity and peace in knowing that adoption is how our family grows next. Here’s a bit more about us!

Fast Five Facts about our Family

1. We met the very first day of freshman orientation at college in Chicago. We had both reserved the same lounge to watch movies. We compromised and watched a movie together, started hanging out and began dating after homecoming. Brad proposed the summer before senior year, and we got married the summer after graduation, almost 12 years ago!

2. Both of us grew up in Christian families. Church and faith have always been important parts of our lives, and we continue to journey through life growing in our faith and raising our family to know Jesus so we can love Him and love others.

3. We love food. We like eating out and we like cooking at home! We’re particularly fond of Thai and Mexican. Stephanie keeps a box of family recipes and is always researching new recipes to try.

4. We have two pets at home–our pup, a black lab named Freddie, and a ring-tailed leopard gecko named Ringo.

5. In this house we are firm believers that music is essential to happiness! Whether it’s the Hamilton soundtrack, Billy Joel classics, a dinosaur-songs playlist, radio pop, orchestra, or some good old homemade melodies, we love having music in our home.

Here's Stephanie!

Brad says: Stephanie is a devoted mother who shows compassion and grace to our son (Sam) in a way that is truly awe-inspiring to me. She works part-time and loves the time she gets with Sam and to care for our family. Stephanie loves using her creative skills at work through graphic design, but her creativity has also come out more and more through crafts, cooking and making up silly games with Sam every day.

Without even knowing who our next baby will be, Stephanie has dreams about and already loves this child. Not only that, but she is fully determined to know and cherish you as the birth mom too. Her life revolves around family and cherishing our new son or daughter will become her life as well.

All About Brad

Stephanie says: Brad, in a word, is JOY. His infectious enthusiasm comes through in all kinds of ways: as a realtor helping first-time homebuyers find a house, as a bass player for the worship team at church, as a homeowner invested in caring for our home inside and out, in the yard, and as a father and husband!

Brad is a very present dad to our son, and he’s so ready to pour love over a new baby too. He’s a fun playmate, a strong protector, and an adoring caretaker. He’s a planner, excited to not only welcome another little one into our family, but to invest in their whole future. Open adoption and caring for our baby’s birth mom is such an important piece of this journey for him. I simply can’t wait to see him get to be a dad all over again!

Our Little Man, Sam

We have one sweet kiddo, our six-year-old son, Sam. He’s full of creativity and a wild imagination; he’s kind, caring and affectionate. He loves math and has been thriving as he learns to read and write. Sam is going to be such a caring big brother! He is so very excited to have a brother or sister. He talks daily about having his own baby and how excited he is to help take care of them, share his stuffies, and sing them lullabies. We anticipate such joy being able to see Sam fulfill his longing to be a big brother.

Our Home in Colorado

We love our life in beautiful Colorado. We live in a cozy duplex on a quiet cul-de-sac. Our home is our haven, with lots of light and a yard with big trees and room to play. We live close to friends, our church, an excellent elementary school, and the ice cream shop. Also nearby is the downtown strip where we love going to the annual ice sculpting and sidewalk chalk festivals. The rec center has a swimming pool we frequently visit and a brand new playground outside.

It’s an easy and scenic drive to get up to the Rocky Mountains from our house, where we’re always keeping an eye out for wildlife (especially big-horned sheep). Our favorite little mountain town also has beautiful trails to hike and a caramel apple shop we can’t ever pass up.

Our Heart for Adoption & Our Promise to You

We feel a peace and certainty that the Lord has led us to this journey of adoption. We are so excited to welcome a baby into our lives and become a family of four. We are so excited to know you and honor you as a special part of our family’s story. If it’s what you want too, we would love to share a lifelong relationship with you of love, trust, care, and happiness. We see adoption as more than adding a child to our family–you would be a part of our family too, if you wish!

Even before meeting you, we promise to love your child unconditionally. We promise comfort, laughs, hugs, and never-ending support in every season. We promise to provide a safe, stable, and happy home life. We promise trips to the park, help with homework, road trips, and living room picnic movie nights. We commit to embracing your baby (and you!) with a fierce love and wild joy all our days.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. To learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family

Plans for Childcare after Adoption

-Stephanie shares... I have the best job in the world at our church, at about 30 hours a week. I'm committed to a set number of hours in the office each week, but have a great amount of flexibility to work from home the rest of the time. After we adopt, I will take at least 3 months off for parental leave and then when I'm back to work, we know our church will be gracious and supportive, letting me work from home as much as possible to be with our baby while also continuing to serve the church, which I love.

-Brad is a realtor and has a lot of flexibility with his work schedule, so he'll be able to spend lots of time at home as well. Our goal is to have one of us home with our new baby as much as possible, and Brad's parents live in town so they are ready and available to help provide care as needed.

Our Extended Families

We have strong loving relationships with our extended families. Our son and future baby have 4 very loving, doting grandparents. We have three sisters and three brothers-in-law who we love dearly and we all love being aunts and uncles to each other's kids! Getting to watch our kids be cousins and friends is such a joy, and the number continues to grow!

Stephanie's family, while not nearby, are very much a part of our lives. We fly as often as we can to see each other, and they're so invested in our adoption journey. Brad's parents live in town, so dinners and playdates can happen often. Everyone is excited about our plans to adopt!

More Fun Facts

- Stephanie has started learning American Sign Language and practices daily
- Brad is training for a half marathon this summer
- Sam is in Cub Scouts and loves attending den and pack meetings
- We are big fans of sidewalk chalk and regularly spend time as a family decorating our driveway!
- Made up words our family uses: we call sodas and seltzers “spicy drinks.” “Cowango” means crazy hair. If we’re really excited, we rub our hands together and call it “twiddling.” A belly kiss for Sam is called a “booya-ska-doo-da.”

Favorite Family Traditions

-For birthdays we like to plan experiences as gifts: Stephanie's favorites are trips to the mountains, Sam loves going to the zoo, and Brad loves a night out with good friends and food.

-For Christmas we alternate which extended family we're with, and our own traditions include going bowling and opening stockings on Christmas Eve.

-Thanksgiving is a wild card. Some years we're with family, some years we go on a Family Adventure! One year we did a Southwest Road Trip to Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.

-On the dog's birthday every year, she gets a scoop of vanilla ice cream with one cheeto as a candle and a bone on top.

In Closing

From both of us, we promise to love you and to love your baby unconditionally. Forever. We promise to seek open, safe communication with you as much as you're comfortable with. We promise to care for your baby when they're tiny. We promise to give him or her adventures and experiences and opportunities when they're older. We promise to wrap them up fully in our lives and provide love, safety, encouragement, honesty, support, belonging, and a home to thrive in.
