Watch Our Video

Hi, from South Carolina! We are a creative couple who loves to stay active and busy. We cannot wait to share our love with your child and watch them grow and find their own interests and passions. We have worked hard over the last several years to come to a place of stability in our home and careers and are so excited to start our family through adoption. We look forward to getting to know you and are open to visits. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us!

Get to know us

We have been married for nine years, and we are just as in love as we were in year one. We are almost always in sync with one another, whether it’s a small preference or a major decision – including the decision to adopt.

We are so excited to become parents. The phrase, “I can’t wait until we can come here with our child,” has been said so many times the last few years. We love exploring new restaurants, museums (and already have several amazing children’s museums scouted out), and parks. A good adventure day hiking or zip-lining is also something we enjoy. As much as we love being out and about, we also love a simple Friday night, curled up on the couch watching a movie with a pizza. We cannot wait to share those adventures, big and small, with our future child.

About Brandon (from Laura)

Brandon is hard-working, supportive, caring, and funny. He is also insanely talented. Not only has he worked as a professional pastry chef in high-end kitchens, but he’s an excellent all-around chef, often creating fantastic meals at home. He normally has at least one or two food projects going on at any given time, from brewing kombucha to fermenting peppers for shelf-stable salsa. He is so excited to share his food knowledge with our future child and get them excited about cooking. During the pandemic, Brandon took up cycling, riding at least 100 miles a week during warm-weather seasons. Brandon also loves music and has built a side business mastering records. I know Brandon is going to be an amazing father. He’s incredibly supportive and has so much knowledge and passion to share.

About Laura (from Brandon)

Laura is a driven, independent, and dedicated woman, always striving for the absolute best she can do in and out of work. She is fiercely loyal and builds friendships that last a long time. Laura has often found herself in the role of “comforter” with friends and family, providing them with a safe space. She has always been supportive of my endeavors and encourages me to try new things in life. Laura is a very artistic individual as well. Often, she can be found crocheting, doing needlework, or drawing something. She enjoys cuddling with our pets and relaxing on the couch with some TV time. Laura will be a fantastic mother and will create an enriching and creative environment for our future child to grow up in. She will always encourage and support them as they learn and grow.

Family All Over

Laura’s parents and younger brother live in Texas, where she grew up. Her older brother lives with her grandmother in Georgia, just a few hours away, and we see them frequently. Though we see Laura’s family a few times a year, communication is pretty constant, and they could not be more thrilled that we are adopting.

Brandon’s family lives mostly in Pennsylvania, where he grew up. His family visits when possible, and we make a couple of trips a year to see them and his brothers, sisters-in-law, and our niece and nephews, who can’t wait to have another cousin. We took a big family vacation with them this past year and plan to do so again soon!

We feel as though our family extends to close friends that have become such a strong, integral part of our lives. Your child is going to be surrounded by love from so many different people in so many different places. They will know not just our biological family but the family of friends we have built and equally love.

Our Home and happy place in South Carolina

We live in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood in a modest 3-bedroom, 2-bath home. Our neighborhood has 2 playgrounds, a soccer field, a swimming pool, and walking trails. We live just outside a small city that offers many things to do, including museums, parks, and more. We have enjoyed preparing a nursery and adding a special place for our child to come home to. From a growing collection of children’s books (Laura LOVED reading as a child) to chalkboard-painted areas for wall-coloring, prepping the nursery has allowed us time to pray for you and your little one and reflect on all the amazing memories that will be made in this room.

We promise...

First and foremost, we promise to love your child unconditionally from day one. They will know you (to your level of comfort), and they will grow up knowing the story of their adoption and that – most importantly – they are so very loved by you, by us, and by those we have surrounded ourselves with. We have already invested in several children’s books that help discuss and process the emotions that come with adoption.

We feel ready to take on the responsibility of parenthood – both the fun and the messy parts. We appreciate you considering us and taking the time to get to know us. We are praying for you on your journey!

With love,
Brandon & Laura

More About Our Family

There's always a project...

We love a good DIY project! Pretty much every aspect of our home is DIY, from our kitchen island to our dining table to the majority of our wall art and our outdoor landscaping. Brandon is the know-how (he can wire, build, or plumb just about anything), and Laura's design background gives a polished finish, we enjoy finding ways to make our home unique. Our latest projects have been a wood-fired pizza oven in the backyard and converting our previous guest room into a nursery filled with books, art, and activities just waiting for a little one.

We live by faith

We are a family of faith, love, and acceptance. Laura's dad is a Baptist pastor, so she was raised quite literally in the church (well, next door to it), and Brandon was raised in a family that was also very active. We look forward to raising our child to know God's love and foster their relationship with Him. We want them to not just associate God with going to church but with loving their neighbor, giving to those in need, and doing the right thing.

The average weekend

When it's time to unwind from the week, we enjoy taking a day to get out and explore. Some of our favorite weekend activities are finding a new restaurant, going downtown for a walk through the gorgeous park, sifting through finds at antique stores, frequenting local bookstores, or hitting a museum we haven't been to yet. Our proximity to a few major cities means the occasional weekend trip. We can't wait to share these experiences with our child (plus add in new, fun, kid-centered experiences).

Our Pets!

We love animals, and that's definitely reflected in our home. We have four pets: 3 cats and 1 dog (who believes she is also a cat). Coraline is our 13-year-old tabby who enjoys peace and quiet. Rupert is our 17-pound ball of fur kitty who thinks he runs the place. He's sassy and good with kids. Our little tortie cat, Stevie, is vocal and incredibly loving, and quirky. Her favorite game is fetch and she adores cuddling.
Violet is our almost 9-year-old terrier mix who might be the sweetest dog to ever live. She is shy but connects profoundly with small children, following them around and gently watching to ensure they stay safe. We recently got a robot vacuum to make sure that while our home is filled with pets, it is not filled with pet hair.

In Closing

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
Every decision we've made as a couple in the last 5 years has been carefully considered with the one goal in mind of growing our family through adoption. From making sure the home we bought was in a good school district to steadying our career paths, we have made every decision out of love for our future child. We have so much love to share and look forward to nurturing our child's passions and interests as they grow and learn.
We promise to respect and uphold your level of comfort in contact and openness. We promise to speak of you and let your child know just how much you love them. And we promise to do everything we can to connect them with their cultural background. We already love this little one so much.
