Brett & Madelinn

Thank you for getting to know our family! It would be our honor to meet and get to know you. Our family of three lives in a beautiful city in Oklahoma with an amazing community of family, friends, and faith. In the summertime we live in Michigan at our home there so that Brett can be onsite at the camp he oversees! We have been praying about this journey of adoption for many years, and we are so excited about God’s plan. Please let us know if you have any questions for us! A Little About Us!

We have been married for thirteen years and have an amazing 9-year-old daughter, LeiLinn. Our faith in God is the most important thing to us and something we prioritize. Planning family adventures where we can make memories together is one of our favorite things. Sometimes these are big adventures, like our annual Jeep trip to Colorado where we go hiking and boating. We also love to plan ways to explore on the weekends as a family, like an afternoon discovering a new playground or visiting our local zoo! Our town has a fantastic zoo that is great for kids to learn about and see different animals! We can’t wait to share so many of these fun activities as our family continues to grow.

Madelinn - the steady one!

Brett says: Madelinn’s faith shines to everyone she meets and she has the sweetest spirit. She loves to host people in our home and is always making sure that every detail is taken care of so that everyone who enters our home feels loved and special. Madelinn loves to garden, bake amazing desserts, and especially loves riding horses. She enjoys quality time with our daughter and they both look forward to their “muffins and mommy” dates at the local bakery. I know that she can’t wait to plan activities for special quality time with our future children, doing things like snuggling up to read a children’s book, going on walks, and introducing them to all of the amazing animals at the zoo. Madelinn is an incredible mom, and I know that she is looking forward to sharing many more special moments together as our family continues to grow!

Brett - the adventurer!

Madelinn says: Brett loves his family and considers it an honor and a calling to provide for us. He is the Executive Director of a Christian camp, where he leads a team that ministers to students and families throughout the summer. He absolutely loves his job! Brett enjoys taking our family to do his favorite outdoor activities, especially if it involves spending time at the lake — you can always find Brett behind the wheel of a boat! Brett and LeiLinn have a Friday morning donut tradition that they both look forward to each week. He’s already excited about all the new things we’ll get to learn and do with our future children too, from Saturday morning cartoons on the couch to teaching our kids how to ride a bike and drive a boat. Brett is a devoted, fun dad!

Our Daughter - the learner!

Becoming parents to our daughter, LeiLinn, has truly been an answer to our prayers. LeiLinn is very observant, and her attention to detail shines through in her thoughtfulness toward others. She is always writing notes or coloring pictures for people in our life. She loves having friends over to play. LeiLinn’s thoughtfulness, combined with her gentle disposition, will make her a wonderful big sister! She has even started collecting books and stuffed animals for her future sibling. She is so excited to meet the child we adopt!

Our Home in Oklahoma

With excited hearts, we have been preparing the nursery room for our future child. Thankfully, there is plenty of room for the growing book and stuffed animal collections that LeiLinn has been gathering for her future sibling! Our home has a huge backyard with tons of room to run and play, a large back patio and fire pit where we host lots of outdoor get-togethers, and a tennis court where our daughter and the neighborhood kids love to play. Our town is perfect for families, and our home is right by several great parks, movie theaters, and ice cream shops. In the Spring and Summer, we enjoy planting little gardens around our property where we grow tomatoes, veggies, and strawberries! Our prayer is that our home is a place of stability, comfort, and peace for all who gather here.

As a family, we are committed to loving each other unconditionally, and we promise to provide that love to your child. They will always know that they are deeply cared for, safe to learn and grow, and that they will always have the love and support they need. We promise to spend lots of quality time together where our phones are turned off and we are present as a family. And, we promise to share with them the love that you have shown them already.
