Hello from Colorado! We are honored you stopped by to learn a little bit about us. Brian is a Colorado native and Amanda has lived here since she was 10 years old. We love that we live somewhere that has all four seasons and so much natural beauty. We hope to share our love for the outdoors and nature with our child.
Our Story
We met through work and began dating shortly after Amanda moved onto a new job. We have been married for 15 years. We are honored to follow God’s lead in calling us to become parents through adoption. We are ready to welcome our first child home and are beyond thrilled for this upcoming chapter in our story.
We thoroughly enjoy exploring the US. While we have traveled by all modes of transportation, road tripping is our absolute favorite. We have traveled coast to coast by car and have had some wonderful experiences. We’ve gone whale-watching in the Pacific Ocean, ziplined along the San Juan mountains, and driven the North Carolina coast from top to bottom exploring all the beaches along the way.
We enjoy going to hockey games, watching football games at home, playing board games and going for walks or hikes.
Meet Brian
Amanda says: Brian is an extremely hard worker both at his job and at home. He has been a UPS driver for 18 years. He is a dedicated employee and has had his current delivery route for over 10 years. Most of his customers know him by name. They appreciate his sense of humor and that he goes the extra mile for them.
Brian enjoys learning how to fix things, whether it be cars or items around the house. He is quite the handyman. Throughout the years, he has painted every room in the house as well as the entire exterior, tore down and replaced our deck, changed out all of the light fixtures, and sanded and painted the kitchen cabinets, with the goal to give everything a more welcoming and cozier feel. He is determined to finish what he has started and completes everything with high quality. He is an amazing problem solver.
When he has down time, he enjoys playing video games, watching videos about cars and cooking delicious meals. Brian is looking forward to teaching our child about his interests, as well as fostering and exploring different hobbies that our child shows a fondness for. He enjoys learning new things and can’t wait to learn with his child.
Meet Amanda
Brian says: Amanda is a great and efficient organizer, keeping the household running smoothly. She has a kind and caring heart. When a loved one is in need she will drop everything to go help. She is an active listener that enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Her hobbies include putting together puzzles, exercising, & playing all kinds of board games. She likes nothing better than discovering a new game to introduce to her family and friends. She also enjoys expressing her creative side through scrapbooking and is looking forward to chronicling our child’s life through this hobby.
Amanda looks forward to teaching our child about the kindness of helping others and paying it forward and having mother/child adventures–swinging at the park, enjoying a cup of hot chocolate while driving around looking at Christmas lights, and teaching the basics of all subjects (especially math and spelling). She’s also looking forward to watching our child discover his or her passions in life through all of these activities.
Our Home in Colorado
Our home is a two-story, three-bedroom home that we have recently remodeled. Our neighborhood is in a quiet “off the beaten path” area by a private lake and loves to celebrate holidays year-round. We have a big front yard and a wonderful, fenced in backyard with lots of room for running around and playing. We both like the beauty of nature and enjoy trips to local nurseries to select flowers to plant in our yard.
We value spending quality time together with our family and friends. In the summertime we enjoy having our loved ones over for conversations and fun around the fire pit. We especially look forward to the holidays when we get to host Thanksgiving dinner and decorate the house for Christmas.
Our Family
Our immediate family consists of two gentle giant Bernese Mountain dogs. Juno is 12 and Finnick is 10. They have been our joy and loyal companions over the last decade that we take for daily walks and spontaneous car rides to the mountains. We love having dogs in our life and we hope that our child will also love animals (especially dogs) as much as we do.
All of our parents live in Northern Colorado, so there will be plenty of love and hugs to be given from their future grandparents.
Brian’s sister & brother-in-law live in California. Amanda’s sister, two nieces (one that she is a godmother to), and two great nephews all live in Northern Colorado. Everyone is excited for our future child to join the family.
Brian has a small extended family that lives between Wyoming and Texas. Amanda has a large extended family that lives in Ohio and North Carolina. We enjoy road trips of all kinds and especially look forward to our family reunions in Ohio. Making and maintaining strong family connections is very important to us.
Our Promise
We are committed to being loving parents, providing a strong family foundation by instilling Christian faith and values into our child’s life.
We are committed to providing a loving, safe, and stable home and being fully involved in our child’s development both physically and mentally. We promise to provide a healthy lifestyle through nutrition, exercise, and wellness checks at every stage of life. We promise to provide a strong learning environment by reading books, exploring nature, and allowing creativity in whatever direction it takes us.
We are excited to expand our love, hugs, and laughter to our future son or daughter. We promise to be there through the good times and bad. We look forward to sharing our current family traditions and starting new ones with our future child.

More About Our Family
We Are Hoping To Adopt Because...
God has put the calling on our hearts to become parents through adoption. We want to welcome a little one into our hearts, arms, and home to raise him or her with love and warmth. We believe that family, friends, and the memories that we have created with those near and dear to our hearts are the most valuable things in life. We want to become parents and create even more of those precious family memories with our future child.
Our Faith That We Hope to Share...
Our faith is rooted in our core Christian values that were established for both of us at young ages. We believe in giving back, the power of prayer, and that God is in control of everything. We attend church weekly and enjoy participating in random church activities and fundraisers throughout the year. One of our favorite annual events to participate in is the "Backpack of My Own" fundraiser where we get to buy backpacks and fill them with school supplies for children of all ages in our community. As parents, we would ensure that our child grows up knowing the love of God and what it means to be a part of a connected and giving church community.
The Things We Look Forward To Sharing With Our Child Are...
We look forward to sharing family dinners at the table, playing outside in the leaves or snow, going on adventures (like drives and hikes in the mountains or road trips to visit extended family), and early morning walks as one big family with our dogs. We're excited to teach our child how to read, spell, and all of the learning that happens throughout the stages of growth and development. We hope to make many memories of playing board games and watching or playing sports together as a family. Our arms can't wait for snuggles, middle of the night feedings, rocking, and reading books together, and most of all showing our child how loved he or she already is and will always be.
Life In Colorado
Brian's love for the outdoors started at an early age. His family would go camping every summer in remote, out of the way places where they "roughed" it. It was during these trips that his love for camping and hiking began. To this day it is still a favorite past time of his which he has shared with Amanda, and it has become a favorite of hers as well.
We think Colorado is a great place to live. The state has a wide array of scenery from never ending plains to snowy mountain peaks, a (daily) variety in weather and lots of things to do indoors and outdoors. We are close to the conveniences of big city life where we enjoy going to concerts and comedy shows. We are also minutes away from the mountains which we enjoy escaping to when we're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We look forward to sharing the beauty of Colorado and all that it has to offer with our future son or daughter.
In Closing
Thanks for wanting to get to know a little more about us. We are very excited to grow our family and share our lives with our new son or daughter. We have so much love, snuggles, and laughs to share with our first child. We'd love to meet you and get to know more about you and what you are looking for in parents to raise your child. We can't wait to start this process with you.
