We are Brock and Tara from Nebraska!
We are so happy you found us, and we can’t wait to learn about you. We are excited to tell you about ourselves, the life we live, where we came from, and the family we are building together. We live in a smaller town in Nebraska. Before you think of tractors, corn fields, the occasional soybeans, and farmers, think instead of the best zoo in the country, pumpkin patches, parks, children’s museums, and state parks. We like to think of ourselves as loving, intelligent, God-fearing, responsible, compassionate, kind, and funny people.
It is a huge honor and a privilege to become adoptive parents, and we accept our responsibilities to you and your child with the utmost respect and commitment. We know we are meant to build our family through adoption. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us!
About Us
We met in 2018 and had a 7 1/2-hour first date and knew that it was truly love at first sight. We were married in 2020, an online success story. We have been struggling with infertility for about 2 years and after a lot of prayers, tears and conversations with family, friends and our pastor, we felt called to pursue adoption.
So much of our time together is shared over home cooked meals. Tara always finds an excuse to whip up something delicious whether it be pasta, meatballs, or the ever-popular chocolate chip cookies (they’re famous). Brock is a grill master and has successfully mastered the art of chicken, pork and ribs. When we are not cooking, we enjoy watching movies together, going on drives, taking the dogs for a walk, listening to music, bike riding, gardening/canning, and doing DIY projects. We also enjoy traveling to beautiful places around the country or to visit family.
We are looking forward to sharing our love for Jesus with our child, snuggles, reading to him or her, the late nights, and watching him or her meet their milestones. We are also looking forward to taking him/her to the apple orchard in the fall, the zoo in the spring, decorating the Christmas tree, baking together, traveling to visit family/friends, and exploring new places in the U.S. We look forward to watching them grow and develop their own personalities and nurturing a love for the Lord.
About Tara (According to Brock)
Tara is an amazing wife. She is an Occupational Therapist and works to ensure that her patients can complete the things they want to do, need to do, or are expected to do as independently as possible. She is so passionate about what she does and thoroughly enjoys seeing progress and finding solutions for people who may not think there are any. My favorite things about Tara are:
- Her caregiving nature–she does her best to help those in need and does all she can to make sure they are taken care of, not only physically but emotionally as well.
- Her cooking–she is an amazing cook and an even better baker.
- Her homemaking–she has a vision for the decor of our home, and she has started to implement it. She does a good job making it all look amazing while being thrifty.
- She is supportive of me and everything I do.
- Her smile–it lights up my world.
Tara is not only looking forward to being a mother, but she was born to be one. The amount of love she has to give to a child is unmeasurable. She is looking forward to the midnight feedings and diaper changes, watching our baby grow and reach their milestones, and being there when they need her. She is looking forward to teaching them how to cook and giving them a good example of what a loving Godly woman is.
About Brock (According to Tara)
Brock is a kind-hearted, lovable, hard-working, adventurous, God-fearing man who loves his family and the Lord fiercely. He makes sure everyone else and their needs are taken care of as his priority. Brock is a power plant operator and loves the challenge that his job gives him. He loves learning new things and putting the things he learns into practice. He truly is the best husband and will make the most incredible dad to our child. There are a lot of things that I love about Brock:
- His servant’s heart–he is always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.
- He is a leader.
- He is protective of his family and his friends.
- He is ambitious and aims for the moon.
- He is trustworthy and supportive.
- He is my Mr. Fix-it, my chauffer, my protector, my best friend.
- His witty sense of humor.
Brock was meant to be a daddy. He has a way with children that they just love being around him. He has so much love in his heart to give to our children. Brock is looking forward to experiencing parenthood and all aspects that come with it. If we have a son, Brock is excited to show him how to be a strong, God-fearing man and how to be a husband and father. If we have a daughter, Brock is excited to be an example of the type of man that he would want his little girl to marry or date. He is looking forward to teaching our child how to ride a bike, fish, build a snowman, and shoot a bow. He is excited to create memories and develop new traditions as a family and to nurture a strong faith in God.
Our Family
We currently have no children but are proud paw-rents to our 2 mini–Schnauzers, Xena and Griffin.
We both have large extended families that are within the state of Nebraska for the most part. Tara has 1 sibling, a brother that lives 30 minutes away and her parents live 20 minutes away. Brock has 3 brothers, one lives in the same town as we do, one lives in Missouri and the other lives in Kansas. Brock’s parents live in Nebraska as well. We each have 1 set of grandparents left. Both sides of our families are very close-knit, and we get together for the holidays and the occasional spring/summer visit!
We are fortunate, both coming from stable and loving families who have supported us throughout our lives. They are so excited to welcome a new child into the family and have been praying for us on this journey. We are excited about our decision to adopt. For us the choice was an easy one, as we have both been impacted by the beauty of adoption in both of our families. Brock’s grandparents struggled with infertility and chose to adopt; his uncle was adopted. Brock has a cousin who adopted her daughter, and Tara has a cousin who placed her son for adoption and still plays an active role in his life as they also chose open adoption. They have shown us that adoption is a very special way to create a family filled with unconditional love and support.
Our Home in Nebraska
We live in a small community near where Tara grew up for the majority of her childhood. We have a beautiful, cozy 3-bedroom ranch-style home in a very safe neighborhood. We love to entertain family and friends and enjoy smoked meat on our pellet smoker any chance we get! We have a nice big backyard with a patio for entertaining and a garden where we grow a lot of our produce. Our neighborhood is close to a couple parks, a swimming pool, the YMCA, and several schools. While we enjoy traveling and value family vacations, we believe that our home is our safe space. We have spent a lot of time tackling different household projects, decorating, and truly making our home a place we can come in and relax and recharge, as well as welcome friends and family to enjoy our space with us.
What makes a house a home is the memories and the people you share them with. Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.
Our Promise
We promise to cherish and love your child with all our hearts and souls and to provide a safe, happy home and life with every opportunity possible. We look forward to the many adventures as a family to see the beautiful world that God has created. We promise to create an environment where your child can explore their interests, express their individuality and develop resilience to face life’s challenges. Our child will be embraced with open hearts and encouraged to flourish into the wonderful person they are destined to become.
More than anything, we want you to know that we will love your child unconditionally and will nurture him or her to grow up to be the best person he and or she will be. We promise to provide an upbringing in which God is a central figure and instill values such as generosity, kindness, and respect for others. We promise to raise your child in the Church and help facilitate a relationship with the Lord. We also promise to encourage our child’s hopes and dreams and to provide the best possible education. We promise to tell your child all about you; we will tell them of your bravery, courage, and love. Our child will always know where he or she came from and about their adoption story. We promise to continue to pray for you and your child.
We are passionate about the opportunity to grow our family through adoption, and we are so fortunate to have family and friends that share the same excitement that we do, to welcome a new little one into our world. There will be a lifetime of celebrations, milestones and adventures ahead! We are so excited for this next chapter!

More About Our Family
Family Traditions
1. Apple Picking and Pie Making! Every year we got to a small family-owned apple orchard about an hour away and pick a ton of apples. A few weeks later we get together and make apple pie filling and pies to freeze for the next year. This is a 4-generation tradition in Tara's family, probably one of our favorite traditions.
2. Yearly family vacations! Every year we take a trip somewhere in the country. Our favorite spots include the Great Smoky Mountains, Charleston, SC, Folly Beach, SC, Maui, Hawaii, and Savannah, Georgia.
3. Having a Christmas movie marathon on Christmas Eve.
4. Brock's yearly Family Reunion either in Kansas or Wyoming
Our Faith
We both have a relationship with God through Jesus. We believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, sent to Earth to save us from our sins by dying on the cross. We believe that on the 3rd day, He rose again and ascended into heaven so we can have Eternal Life with Him. We trust in Him completely and know that His Word is alive and 100% true. In our lives, we put God first, each other second, and ourselves last. We know that He has a plan for us, and we do our best to trust in Him and His timing. We also try to live by Mark 12:29-31 "Hear oh Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself." We practice our faith by attending church on Sundays, reading the Bible every day, and starting and ending our days with prayer.
