Hello! Thank you for learning more about our family; we hope to connect with you more. We are hoping to adopt a child, twins, or sibling group to add to our family.
We are a Christian couple from Wisconsin, and we are excited to grow our family. We believe God has led us down this path, and we look forward to sharing letters, pictures, and scheduled visits with you if you are comfortable. We look forward to being very attentive parents by finding out their interests, such as sports, music, reading, or cooking, and then helping them spend more time doing the things THEY love. Your child will be very important in our family, and their needs will be prioritized, such as health, education, and teaching them about their heritage.
About Us
We met in high school and have now been together for 16 years and married for 11. We feel called to grow our family through adoption after seeing firsthand how great a blessing it has been for family and friends that have adopted or have been adopted.
We enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, and cooking together. We look forward to taking our child with us camping, sharing holiday traditions with them, and supporting their passions as they grow.
We are entrepreneurs, and love the flexibility and variety it brings to our days. Our businesses include a car wash business with three locations, a 60 room franchise hotel with a waterslide and splash park, and a laundromat. We’ve planned to have businesses for years as we knew it would set us up to be able to support a family and have enough flexibility to not need childcare.
To a certain extent, we are kids at heart, so we are excited for all the fun new activities we will do as a family – like going to trampoline parks, getting a slip ‘n slide, and traveling throughout the US.
About Cody
According to Harlie: I was drawn to Cody because of how patient, creative, wise, and humble he is. I consider him our “home improvement guru” because he always seems to know how to build or fix anything – including cabinetry, plumbing, sheetrock, and more. Cody and I own businesses together that gives him flexibility to make his own schedule. He enjoys camping, fishing, woodworking, and playing games.
I love watching Cody interact with our niece and nephew. They absolutely adore him – and Cody always gives them his undivided attention in talking about each of their different passions, helping them build model planes, playing board games with them, and reading books to them. I know that he will be the best dad! He regularly talks about how excited he is to grow our family, share his life with our child, and support them in their passions.
Cody is meant to be a dad – and he is so ready for it. As I watch him interact with our niece and nephew, and the families that stay at our hotel, I know that he is going to be the best dad.
About Harlie
According to Cody: Harlie is a genuinely caring, loving, creative, and self-driven woman. She loves to bake (her chocolate chip cookies are amazing), hike, garden, and play with our dog, Mango, and our niece and nephew. Her favorite hobby is painting. For the past few years, she has been selling her work to local hospitals and to family and friends. She LOVES ice cream and always finds a way to celebrate with it :).
Harlie has always had a place in her heart for kiddos. She has taught art classes for grades K-12 and spent her college years creating and running summer camps for middle school students. I know she will be an incredible mother to our child and is excited to support them in their passions.
Harlie has felt called to adopt since high school, and she is ready and eager to be mom. We pray regularly for the birth mom and child that will be part of our lives soon.
Our Family
Our nephew Trace (17) and niece Neveah (13) live with us and are very eager for us to have a new addition to the family. We are fortunate to live very close to family. Cody’s parents live a short 20-minute drive away, while Harlie’s parents live just 3 minutes down the road from our home.
Cody’s parents are thrilled to welcome their first grandchild(ren) into the family and his mom, who is the director of the church preschool, has already agreed to play a large role in babysitting as needed.
Our parents, as well as our extended family, are all so excited for our family to grow through adoption!
Our Home in Wisconsin
We live in a peaceful, cozy 3-bedroom home in the woods on 6 acres of land. Our favorite feature is our sound system which allows us to listen to Spotify or an audiobook throughout the house. Our house is a big studio, in that we have dedicated spaces for arts and crafts throughout our home and garage. We have a large yard with 2 garden plots, bedded flowers, apple trees, and hills perfect for sledding down in the winter. The woods around us provide our home with privacy, and the location makes it so we can always visit the farm and be with family.
Though we live in the country, we are 10 minutes away from two larger towns that offer everything we need/want. There are many schools to choose from, endless parks, music, plays, and sporting events to attend.
We share our home with our 5-year-old Goldendoodle, Mango. Mango loves kids and is ecstatic when our niece and nephew come over to play. She is patient, kind, and the goofiest dog we’ve ever met.

More About Our Family
Our Faith
Our faith has always been a large part of our life. We are members of our local Lutheran church.
- We enjoy going to Wednesday night activities - which includes games in our church's gymnasium, Bible studies and events for all ages.
- We regularly attend the Sunday morning service.
- Our church has become an extended part of our family, and we are grateful and wholeheartedly believe in our church's mission to serve the community, both here and afar.
Health & Fitness
You can rest assured that your child will grow up learning the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle if placed with our family.
- We are fortunate to have many fruits and vegetables that we can harvest right out of the garden and local meat available from the family farm.
- Harlie loves to bake unique treats that everyone can enjoy and knows how to cater nutritious meals for picky eaters and food intolerances.
- Staying active is very important to us.
- Cody likes to go running and lift weights.
- Harlie likes going on walks, Zumba, and jumping on the trampoline with our niece.
We look forward to sharing the joy of staying active with our child and allowing them to explore the active hobbies they enjoy - whether that be dance, hiking, sports, or just playing games outside around the house.
Fun & Adventures
We love going on adventures and having fun, which includes sail boating or kayaking on a local lake, paintballing, and having family game nights. Ping pong is a common game played at our house, and we are always up for trying something new.
Rest assured that your child's interests - whether it be sports, arts, games, or otherwise - will be explored and enjoyed by the whole family.
Plans for Childcare
Since we are in entrepreneurship our schedules are very flexible, allowing us to not need childcare as one of us will regularly be available to be home. Cody's mom is the Director of a preschool and she is eager to retire and help as needed as well.
