We have a big, super supportive circle of family and friends who are all incredibly excited about welcoming a child through adoption. We can promise that your baby will always be surrounded by love.
We’d love to chat with you in whatever way you’re most comfortable – phone, Facetime, text – anything that works for you, works for us.
About Us
We’re an active, outgoing couple who met in our 30s, and we firmly believe this was God’s perfect timing for us. We are grateful for the years we spent in our 20s to explore career options, travel, and enjoy our independence. Now, we’re happy, established, and so ready to welcome a baby into our family!
As dedicated high school coaches, we have a passion for working with kids and feel it’s our calling to make a positive impact on young lives. When we’re not teaching and coaching, we love spending time together trying new restaurants, going to the movies, playing with our dog, Goose, or taking quick weekend getaways. Bringing a baby into our lives would truly complete our family, and we would be overjoyed to share our love and adventures with them.
A typical evening in our house involves:
- Kathleen cooking dinner with music in the background while Goose waits by the door for Corey to come home.
- The two of us catching up, laughing, telling stories about our day, and eating dinner together.
- A post-dinner walk around the neighborhood with our yellow lab, Goose.
About Kathleen
(Written by Corey) What I love most about Kathleen is just how genuine she is. She has this incredible energy and drive that inspires everyone around her. As a high school teacher and basketball coach, these qualities really shine. I’ve seen her positively impact so many kids’ lives over the years, and her dedication to her career is truly admirable. Kathleen has loved sports for as long as she can remember, and her passion and commitment make her an amazing coach and an even better person.
About Corey
(Written by Kathleen) Corey is the hardest worker I know, driven by a deep love for the people in his life. As a highly ambitious and successful football coach, his dedication to his team and passion for the sport are inspiring. The high school kids he coaches every day absolutely love him and look up to him in so many ways.
Corey is attentive and loving, always ensuring that I am taken care of and stepping up without hesitation to help our family and friends any time there’s a need. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He’s tough on the football field, but so gentle and kind at home.
On a typical Saturday, you can find him playing golf with his dad, doing projects around the house, or binging a new show on Netflix. He’s a big movie buff, and he really seems to know a little bit about everything. He’s looking forward to sharing his love for learning with a child one day.
There is no doubt in my mind that Corey will be an amazing dad.
Our Family
Our extended family is large on both sides, close-knit, and incredibly supportive. We gather frequently for family dinners, BBQs, and birthday celebrations.
Adoption holds a special place in our hearts. Corey’s mom is adopted. We are thankful for the gift of adoption, as it has been the reason for the wonderful life of Corey’s mom, and her kids. Everyone on both sides is overjoyed and wholeheartedly supportive of our plan to adopt, eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new family member.
We are very intentional about staying connected to family. One of our favorite traditions is our annual family reunion (Corey’s side), where relatives get together every Father’s Day weekend. We also enjoy annual trips to the beach in North Carolina (Kathleen’s side), where aunts, uncles, and cousins come from all over to spend the 4th of July grilling out, swimming in the ocean, playing cornhole, and catching up. These moments of togetherness are what we cherish most, and we can’t wait to share these experiences with our future child, building memories that will last a lifetime.
Our Home in Texas
We live in a cozy three-bedroom house located in a quiet, safe, and kid-friendly neighborhood in Texas. Our home is perfect for a family, with plenty of space inside and a large backyard where we enjoy spending time together. One of our favorite spots is the deck out back, shaded by big trees, where we love to sit and have dinner when the weather is nice.
We’ve got a big park nearby. It has hiking trails, a playground, and a nice walking path that we visit almost daily. We often see deer wandering by, which is always exciting, especially for our dog, Goose, who loves to chase them!
We’ve set up a nursery for the baby and can’t wait to have a little one snoozing away in there. There’s a top-rated elementary school just down the street. When we decided we were ready to start a family, we were very selective about where we wanted to live. We love being in a major city, while also enjoying a safe, quiet, family-friendly neighborhood. It’s the perfect fit for us.
Our Promise to You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering us to be the adoptive parents for your precious baby. We are praying for you as you make this decision, and we want you to know how deeply we respect you.
We promise to provide your baby with a life filled with unconditional love, joy, and endless support. Our home will be a place where they feel safe, cherished, and encouraged to pursue their dreams. We value education and are committed to providing the best opportunities for their future. We believe in nurturing a child’s passions and helping them grow into a confident, kind, and compassionate person.
We look forward to cheering your child on in whatever interests they choose to pursue, whether it’s sports, arts, academics, or anything else that lights them up inside. Our parenting style will be a blend of both guidance and freedom, ensuring they feel supported while also having the space to explore and learn.
We are open to having a relationship with you, and we welcome future contact if that’s something you desire. Whether it’s sharing updates, photos, or even occasional visits, we believe in the importance of keeping you a part of your child’s story in a way that feels comfortable for everyone involved.
Your child will always know how much you mean to us and the incredible love you have for them. We are committed to being the best parents we can be, and we are so excited about the possibility of welcoming a baby into our family. Thank you for considering us, and we hope to talk to you soon!

More About Our Family
Our Faith and Values
We have faith in a loving, perfect God who embraces all. To us, character and integrity are what truly matter, and doing the right thing is something we value deeply. Helping others without judgment is important to us, because you never really know what someone else might be going through. We can both look back on our lives and clearly see the times we've experienced God's grace and mercy, and we hope to reflect that in the way we live. God has a plan for every person, and everyone is deserving of love and connection. These are the teachings of Jesus we will pass on to our child, hoping they’ll grow up with kindness and empathy for all people.
Our Thoughts on Open Adoption
Keeping you, as the birth mom, a part of our child’s story is important to us. Corey’s mom was adopted and never had any information about her birth family, which has always left her curious about her heritage. Our child knowing their roots is a priority to us, and we’re ready to make that happen through open adoption, if you desire. Our hope is to build a relationship that shows our child how much their birth mother cares and to help them feel connected to their story.
Being a Coach's Kid
Being a coach’s kid offers a truly unique and special childhood. Your child will grow up running around the football field with other coaches' kids, riding the team bus, and cheering from the stands. They'll be surrounded by high school athletes who will teach them valuable life lessons and shower them with love and attention. Our busy, but rewarding, life means they'll always be part of a close, school-wide community, with lots of other coaches' kids around. They will be raised by a village that loves and cares for them.
Fun Facts About Us
- Corey grew up in Providence, Rhode Island before moving to Texas at age 14.
- We both play the guitar and piano.
- Kathleen studied abroad in Brazil, and Corey lived in Guatemala for a year.
- Our dream is to buy a lake house one day and spend weekends there with family and friends.
In Closing
We really appreciate you taking the time to get to know us and the kind of life we want to give your child. We're totally open to staying in touch through open adoption. Your baby will always know how much you mean to us. Whenever you're ready, we'd love to chat over the phone or a video call. Just let Lifetime know, and we can set something up!
