Aloha from the island of Oahu! Thank you for taking the time to meet us through this profile. As a family, we enjoy hiking to waterfalls after a rain, playing on the beach at sunset, and traveling the world to explore new cultures.
Adoption is deeply personal to us. David has four siblings who were adopted, and our daughter, Indy Rose, is also adopted. Should you choose to entrust us with the care of your child, we promise to raise them in a joyful, nurturing home filled with unconditional love and support. We’re grateful you’re here and we look forward to the journey ahead!
About Us
We first met 18 years ago when Abby literally “ran into” David during a game of pick-up soccer. Abby was a theater-kid and David loved basketball. We were teenagers at the time, but within six months we were dating and in three years were married. Now, fourteen years later, we’ve built a fun-loving and dedicated marriage that has stood the test of time.
After years of unexplained infertility, we welcomed our daughter, Indy, into our family through adoption. Adoption had always been on our hearts—even as teenagers. As Christians, we see it as a reflection of how God welcomes us into His family. We’re honored that adoption is now part of ours. The joy of parenting Indy has only deepened our desire to love and raise children. Becoming parents has expanded our hearts in ways we couldn’t have imagined, and we believe God is inviting us to step into that journey again.
We work for a Christian missions organization that has taken us around the world together. We currently live and work in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. Abby plans on being a stay-at-home mom so she can soak up every minute with our kids. David also enjoys a flexible work schedule that will allow him to be home with our family often.
On the weekends we love to be outdoors exploring, whether that’s crab hunting on the beach, hiking to waterfalls, or finding constellations through Grandpa’s telescope.
About Abby
David says: Abby is incredibly hard-working, compassionate, and creative. Abby brings a curiosity and love for life into our family that makes every day special. She’s a go-getter who is confident enough to pursue her passions. She loves to learn new things like:
Abby loves kids and kids love her. She has this amazing ability to be fully present wherever she goes. With our next child, Abby looks forward to the “every day” moments that makes life special. Things like:
About David
Abby says: I fell in love with David because he is smart, he is funny, and he is kind. I was immediately attracted to his sense of integrity and deep compassion towards those in need. His faith in God is central to his life and it inspires me to also grow in my faith as well.
He enjoys:
Watching him as a dad has been the greatest joy. He puts faith and family first, above all other distractions life brings. He champions us to be the best versions of ourselves.
With our next child he looks forward to:
Our Family
Our daughter, Indy: Indy Rose is an 18-month-old firecracker who loves dogs, climbing, and all things water. She loves other babies and already has a strong nurturing side to her. We can’t wait to see her develop a close bond with a little brother or sister.
Our Extended Family:
We live a short drive away from Abby’s parents. We spend most weekends with them grilling by the pool and biking to a nearby lagoon. Abby’s dad built a small saltwater aquarium for his granddaughters. He takes them to the beach with nets to collect starfish and crabs. Abby’s three brothers are already fun, protective, loving uncles! They will love teaching their new niece/nephew all sorts of important things like magic tricks, bike riding, and swimming.
Every summer we visit David’s family in Ohio. These visits are filled with baseball games, blueberry picking, kayaking, and catching fireflies. With fifteen (and counting) nieces and nephews and five (and counting) boxer puppies, these visits are both fun and loud!
Both of our families were overjoyed to hear that we are adopting and cannot wait to welcome another child into the family.
Our Hawaiian Home
Our home is nestled in a quiet, green valley in the Hawaiian Islands. Its nickname is “the Valley of Rainbows” because every day of the year it is canopied in rainbows from gentle rainfall. With jungle streams, tropical flowers, and brightly colored parakeets, it really is a piece of paradise!
We are a short walk away from a park, playground, and community pool, as well as a beautiful elementary and middle school. The best part about our community is that we know all of our neighbors. On a weekly basis we will be at our neighbors’ homes for barbecues, game nights, or just to borrow a cup of sugar (really!). Many of our friends have young children. They are always riding bikes and playing on the swing set nearby. On weekends our friends often set up their bounce house for the neighborhood kids to play in.

More About Our Family
Family Traditions
- New Years Eve Scavenger Hunt: Every year Abby's dad plans an elaborate scavenger hunt throughout their neighborhood. Every year it seems to grow in scope (last year it involved swimming out to a buoy for a clue!).
- Summer at the Cabin in Ohio: Every summer the cousins gather for long days of kayaking, swimming, berry picking, and baseball games.
- Friendsgiving: The Friday after Thanksgiving we gather friends for a poolside BBQ at Abby's parents' house for a second round of feasting (is it too early for Christmas music?).
- Christmas Tree Farms: Whether we are in Ohio or Oahu for the holidays, we always make our way out to a Christmas tree farm for hot cocoa (or iced coffee in Hawaii) and a freshly cut tree.
- "Sabbath Fridays": As a family we set aside Friday afternoon/evening to be together. We usually head to the beach, pick up our favorite foods, and have a family night in. We look forward to days when we can include game nights or movie nights with our children.
How Adoption Has Impacted Us
Adoption has long been part of our story. David has four adopted siblings—his youngest brother was adopted as an infant, and three were adopted together from Liberia. Because adoption is so deeply woven into his family, it was something we talked about often before we were married. Even then, we dreamed it would one day be part of our story too.
Shortly after we were married, Abigail spent two years as a caseworker for a private foster care and adoption agency. She had the honor of walking alongside birth parents and adoptive families, gaining a deep appreciation for both the beauty and complexity of adoption.
Today, we’re surrounded by friends and family who are adopted, have adopted, or have made adoption plans for their children. Adoption has touched our lives in countless personal ways, and we are overjoyed that it’s now part of our own family’s story.

Travels
We work for a non-profit organization that has taken us around the world. We’re grateful to do work we love, often focused on bringing education and training to under-resourced areas.
These trips have also led us to incredible people, unforgettable foods, and beautiful cultures. We’ve dogsledded on frozen rivers in Mongolia, eaten 18-day balut in the Philippines, and trekked through the Himalayas of Nepal. We’ve ridden motorbikes in Uganda, seen Mount Fuji in Japan, and enjoyed world-renowned kimchi in South Korea.
It’s said that travel is the best teacher, and we couldn’t agree more. It’s taught us the value of experiences over possessions and deepened our love for cultures different from our own. We can’t wait to travel with our children one day and explore the world together.
In Closing
If you choose us to be your child’s family, know they will be loved fully and unconditionally. We hope to build a lifelong relationship with you, if that’s something you’re comfortable with. We would love to share photos and videos of milestones, birthdays, and everyday moments, and we’re open to exchanging emails and phone calls so you can watch your child grow.
When you feel the time is right, we’re happy to arrange visits as well. In our family, your child will always know about your deep love and care. We are committed to celebrating their adoption story and honoring your important place in their life.
It’s hard to express how much it would mean to us to welcome a baby into our family. We promise to raise your child in a safe, loving home - supporting them to become all they were created to be.
Our prayers are with you as you consider this journey, and we look forward to walking it together.
