Hello from beautiful Montana! We are a joyful Christian couple thrilled to grow our family through adoption again. We love to share our passions for sports, reading, and outdoor fun. Open adoption has changed our lives in so many wonderful ways! Our son’s birth mother keeps in contact with us, and we welcome an ongoing connection with you if you’re comfortable. We are all about making memories together, such as family bike rides, camping trips, and surprise ice cream runs. It would be an honor to get to know you and the life you want for your child.
About Us
Our family enjoys a diverse range of activities, from camping to cozy movie nights. Our home is warm, and we enjoy gardening, playing games, and sharing around the dining table every night. We treasure spending time together as a couple and are excited to take our children on all of our adventures. We like exploring on hikes, walks, and bike rides and playing at the lake.
Despite challenges of infertility and loss, we’ve always believed family is built through love. God led us to adoption, blessing us with our son, Elias. This journey has strengthened our faith, deepened our marriage, and filled our home with joy. Now, we’re excited to grow our family again, trusting in His perfect plan!

Jenny says: Derrick is a loving husband and father with a great sense of humor. He really enjoys spending quality time and doing activities with the family. He enjoys playing sports of all kinds, playing with our son, and making up jokes and funny words that keep us laughing. Derrick is the man who fixes things around the house, cooks dinner on the grill (I love it when he BBQs for dinner!), and loves to toss a ball around with our son. He is excited to teach our kids all about different sports, read books with them, show them how to fix things, and help them with their schoolwork.

Derrick says: Jenny is a fun, smart, thoughtful, loving wife and mom who has a passion for cooking and baking great food. She enjoys knitting and crocheting things for others, art, gardening, leatherworking, and playing games of all kinds. She keeps our home running smoothly and likes to add a personal touch to everything she does. Jenny is super creative and brings so much beauty into our lives. She enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and likes to make our home feel welcoming with art, plants, music, and good food. Jenny is excited to teach our kids how to cook, to appreciate and play different kinds of music, and to help spur on their curiosity as they grow.

Our Home in Montana
We live in a large two-story home with four bedrooms, a large living room, a large den, and a big yard. Our home is in a cozy city neighborhood. We always welcome family and friends that like to visit, and we often get to see the local wildlife such as deer in our neighborhood. We enjoy gardening vegetables and berries, grilling our dinner, and playing games in the yard.
Our Dog
Our dog, Dixie, is an English Springer Spaniel that we got as a puppy. She has fit in nicely into our family routines, and loves to just be around us. She loves to play fetch with our son, Elias, outside and is very gentle and affectionate.

Our Son
Elias was adopted about 6 years ago, and he is such a joy in our lives! He loves to make us laugh, is curious about how things work, loves to be outside, and enjoys reading books. He is social, affectionate, and has a great sense of humor. He also enjoys sports and likes playing baseball and is learning how to play hockey. We have a good relationship with his birth mother, which includes regular photo updates, texts, and phone calls.
Our Family
Derrick is originally from Montana, and Jenny is originally from Oregon. We love to visit our families often and enjoy going on adventures when they come to visit. In all, we have 15 nieces and nephews, and we love getting to visit them. Derrick has one sister, and Jenny has two brothers and a sister. Our parents all love being grandparents and everyone is so excited to welcome another child into the family!
Our Promise
We love being parents, and we have so much more love to give. As Christians, we promise to raise our children with joy and seek to share God’s love for us all by filling our home with love, learning, encouragement, laughter, adventures, singing, and great memories. We will share with our children about where they came from and their unique adoption story.
We look forward to reading bedtime stories, gardening, baking cookies, tickle fights, and movie nights as a family. We will teach them to love creation and to look at it with wonder and awe. They will grow up knowing they are deeply loved by God, by us, and by you.

Our Faith
We are active in our church and our faith in Jesus Christ guides our everyday lives. Our church has lots of young children, and we also love spending time with families during the week. At home, we like to read out loud from our Bible after dinner and share devotion time together.
We look forward to sharing the truth of God’s Word with our next child, and teaching them to love all things beautiful and good.
Musical Fun Facts About Us
• We sing a lot in our home, and also play the piano and ukulele.
• In high school, Derrick played saxophone, and Jenny played clarinet.
• Jenny will often make up songs or sing little songs to make things fun for Elias.
• There is usually music playing sometime during the day. From classical to country, we like listing to lots of different genres.
An average week in our home...
• On weekends, we all get up and play in the living room together. Sometimes we go out to breakfast, or jump in on some chores around the house together.
• Throughout the week, we enjoy maintaining our home and yard, like mowing, weeding, or vacuuming the cars. Elias has school in the mornings, and we like to read or play games in the afternoon.
• We have dinner as a family every night, and after Elias is in bed, we like to talk, read, play a game, or watch TV together.
• Bedtime for Elias is a sweet time to settle down, reading books, singing, and saying a prayer with him.
In Closing
