Hello! We met when we were teaching kindergarten at the same school. That was over 8 years ago and we instantly connected over our love for working with children. We both grew up in nearby small towns and really love small town life. As a couple we spend just about every moment together. We even commute to work together! We’ve always hoped to become parents and for years we tried to have a baby, without success. Through our faith and love for family and children, we believe we’ve been called to grow our family with adoption. We dream of sharing our love and life with a child! It would mean so much to us to get to know you and the hopes you have for your child’s future.

Life as a Couple
Our story began on the playground at the school where we both taught kindergarten. We would swap funny stories about things happening in our classrooms. We knew pretty quickly that we wanted to spend our lives together. We got engaged within our first 6 months as a couple and now we’ve been happily married over 7 years!
Together we enjoy:
• Exploring new places in our travel trailer
• Attending live professional baseball and football games
• Going to local events, like the parades, concerts, farmer’s markets, and festivals
• Gardening or feeding wildlife in our yard
• Walking our dogs
• Hosting sleep-overs with our nieces and nephew
• Vacations (especially with our family!)
About Nancy
What Devin says: Nancy is a loving, caring, hardworking, and fun wife who is very schedule oriented. She has a strong faith, is very patriotic, loves teaching, and makes sure we plan regular time to see our families. I love Nancy’s “old school” thinking and how she likes to live in the moment, rather than being on her phone documenting everything. She was raised by older parents (also teachers!) and her Italian dad was a retired military veteran when she was born, so he stayed home during her childhood. She grew a heart for older music, food, and traditions that I know she’d love to pass down as a mom! Nancy is already an amazing aunt and teacher, and she will be an amazing mother. She will go above and beyond to make sure our child has a home full of love, compassion, faith, learning, and memorable life experiences.
Nancy likes:
• Recycling and repurposing used items (she always has to stop for yard sales!)
• Creating hands-on projects for her students
• Staying organized and keeping our house tidy (she even loves hanging the laundry!)
• Grocery shopping for new foods and dishes we’ve never tried
• Camping with our dogs
About Devin
What Nancy says: Some people call Devin the “Energizer Bunny” because he’s a go-getter who likes to keep busy. When something needs to be done, he gets it added to his ongoing to-do list (always on the kitchen island) and he enjoys learning how to fix things. Devin is athletic and a sports super fan. He is loyal and takes his role as a husband and provider very seriously. I know he will do the same as a father. The kids at school adore Devin (he used to be the most requested kindergarten teacher!) because he is loving, firm, and can be playful. He will be an incredible dad and our child’s biggest fan in whatever they do.
Devin likes:
• Playing and watching sports
• Fantasy football or baseball and keeping track of pro-athlete statistics
• Jogging, biking, hiking, or swimming
• Geocaching
• Barbecuing with family or friends
• Having conversations with people who speak Spanish (his Spanish skills come in handy at work!)
Our Home in California
We live in a small rural town in Northern California. Here we have all four seasons, from hot summers, colorful falls, beautiful springs, and wet or snowy winters. This area is surrounded by several forests, lakes, and rivers. We love the slower pace of life in our tight-knit community! Our neighborhood is very safe and we talk with many of our neighbors daily. We have block parties and neighborhood watch meetings. Everyone looks out for each other, and Devin was even part of organizing a way for us all to help out elderly neighbors.
Our house is a custom home with three bedrooms on a half-acre lot with a big yard. We like to keep it feeling cozy and welcoming. It’s become the home where both sides of our families come for the holidays. Over the years we’ve spent a lot of time remodeling, updating, and making our house a beautiful home we love. It will be a great place to raise our little family!
Our Families
Our extended family sees one another pretty often. We spend holidays together and enjoy time with each other at local events in our community. We take family trips every year and love gathering to carry on family traditions. We love to celebrate our country and play games together too.
Devin comes from a large Hispanic family, many of whom live in this area too. We get to see his parents and sister regularly. His sister recently started teaching at our school too! Devin’s mother is excited to help us with childcare when needed. We spend a lot of time with Nancy’s younger sister and our 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Nancy also has an older sister who she helped take care of until recently when she moved to Southern California. We look forward to trips to visit her as often as possible. Family means the world to us and we cherish time with our loved ones. Everyone will be so excited to meet the child we’re chosen to adopt!
Our Heartfelt Promise

More About Our Family
Work Life
We really enjoy teaching at a rural, public school in a low-income area, getting to provide our students with a safe, nurturing and fun learning environment. Nancy is still teaching kindergarten and Devin is an elementary school PE teacher. We both have a passion for working with young children and are humbled by the thought of making a positive impact in a child’s life through our work. Teaching young students keeps us young and fun, yet also gives us the opportunity to give them structure and ways to learn new things at any age. Plus, as teachers we both have the same schedule throughout the year, which gives us plenty of time off together! After we adopt, we’re hoping to take turns staying home with our child for a time, and when we go back to work we'll have great options for early childhood preschool at our local colleges.
What Matters to Us
As teachers, we have a passion for learning and will make sure our child has a good education. We look forward to raising our child in our faith and creating a home where they can see their parents as a loving and faithful couple. We value time together and with our families. As Catholics, we attend mass every week and like to take part in or volunteer with church events.
Our Dogs
We have two medium-sized dogs, Lucy and Leo. Lucy is the easiest going dog we have ever met. We call her a natural therapy dog because she loves spending time with people, especially children. Lucy loves our nieces and nephew and has even spent time with kids in our classrooms. Leo is a happy, energetic dog who loves to play fetch, chase the squirrels, and go on his daily walks. He’s also our snuggle bug and he loves to curl up with us.
Traditions We Love in Our Family
• Big holiday dinners, decorating cookies, and making recipes passed down from our loved ones
• Putting together care kits for people in need
• Playing bocci ball and card games we learned from our grandparents
• Big Super Bowl parties with Devin's family
• Camping, fishing, and hanging out by the river, creak, or lake
• Road trips to the Pacific coast
